  • Great quality! Where did the video come from?

  • @JMFabiano This was a second copy I got as a bonus in a tape trade.

  • I was in school the forst grade i think? when this episode aired, but it's good to see this for the 1st time.

  • I forgot what a GREAT HOST Peter Marshall was!

  • It's so sad that the networks did not save shows like this! The first 10 Years of the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson are gone forever Too!

  • This is a classic...especially for fans of country music!! I wonder if any episodes exist with Ray Stevens as a guest. I know he appeared several times during the John Davidson era.

  • What's George Gobel's gift to C&W music.

  • @zachhoran At the time, nothing. He was just on because, they often have at least one of the regular panelist on theme shows (although usually, the celebs who fit the theme are in the outer 8 squares, with Paul Lynde or Wayland and Madame still in the center). However several years later, George did become appearing a regular on "Hee-Haw", though it has probably nothing to do with this episode.

  • 26:07 -- That's Peter Billingsley, before his turn as Ralphie in "A Christmas Story," with Reggie Jackson in the Blue Bonnet ad. The other celebs in that spot are Sheldon Leonard and Hermione Gingold.

  • 6.00...Gotta love that old Secret Square sound!

  • RIP Sahara Hotel.

  • 3 of my favorite things George, Tammy and game shows

  • Roger Tuttle was the V/O for the station ID/"United States" promo.

  • P.S. And the V/O heard over the "Hollywood Squares" end credits was Bill Wendell.

  • Classic HS show aired 15 days after I was brought into the world. Great show. Keep 'em coming.

  • Thanks. I'll do my best.

  • Great Episode David. I'm from Texas and I love Country Music. This one's going into the favorites.

  • Glad you liked it, Austin. :-)

  • 8:32 - The Calgonite Spotmaker TV commercial, used to scare me a lot!

  • @heine71 Oh yeah, me too, bigtime, It just gave me the creeps all over again, thought it was a Cascade ad though, glad to find it though, I thought i'd imagined it.

  • Whoa another classic episode of THE HOLLYWOOD SQUARES that is a Blast from a Past.

  • That's what those spiral staircases are for.

  • @gamelover1949 Unless the stairs are out of order at the time. :D

  • You've gotta love the classic Squares.

  • I liked how they darkened the inside of the big tic-tac-toe board during the ticket plug! Never noticed that before! Awesome!!!

  • That was a very nice touch.

  • Dave has done it again...the finale was the only 1980 eisode on YouTube...Good Job

  • Thank you kindly, Will.

  • Hey, a photo from this episode was used in Come on Down! by Jefferson Graham in 1988.

  • That's a cool fact.

  • Thanks for uploading, great fun!

Not your fault, but the updated theme music sucked!

  • No problem; I prefer the old music too. :-)

  • Too Many George's in the Panel.

  • By George, you're right. :-D

  • thanks
