anybody know what this video was going to show originally (before the plane hit the tower)? What were they filming here before that happened, and why is the fireman there?

@utsr07 the naudet brothers were filming a documentary about that fire unit, and were just following them along all day long. they were checking some type of sewer or pump for gas or something, just routine shit. they just happened to be in that location at the time the plane was and got it on film, otherwise, we would have never seen the first plane hit, to my knowledge this is the only video of it striking.

Don't know when CBS wanted to air the documentary had it not been for the attacks, but it essentially became a 9/11 documentary and I know that CBS first aired it about 6 months after the attacks, then again on the 1st anniversary. I don't think they aired it again until this past (the 10th) anniversary.

CBS was doing a documentary on what it's like for a person to become a New York Firefighter/ a profile of a rookie firefighter---showing young men going through firefighting training and the first day on the job. As it turns out, 9/11/01 was the first day on the job for this particular group of rookies, and here they were doing a routine check of storm drains to make sure there was nothing flammable (including bombs), and making sure debris was not clogging up

if the top (damaged) bits of the towers had collapsed to one side then the whole towers may not have fell. But the steel in the core collums failed causing the top bit to collapse straight down onto the other floors, then the 'pancake effect' occurred as each floor collapsed after another due to the added weight.
a plane has enough fuel to be worse than a bomb, no point saying that "oh the building wouldnt have gone down" cos a plane hitting it and exploding means that everything burns and the only support for the tower is the outer walls which was no enough to support the top part of the buildings weight

if the top (damaged) bits of the towers had collapsed to one side then the whole towers may not have fell. But the steel in the core collums failed causing the top bit to collapse straight down onto the other floors, then the 'pancake effect' occurred as each floor collapsed after another due to the added weight.
