  • thats one way of cycling your tank.

  • The final solution for those who hate cleaning the dust every season.

  • @Bastylax86 indeed

  • WHAT DA DVD DRIVE!

  • @Gamea650 done proper

  • What the fu ck

  • thats awsome

  • @TheYTWarriors THANK YOU!

  • @TheYTWarriors thank you

  • is this from a store?

  • @YamiPoyo i built this and put it on display at the store in which i was working at the time

  • WTF is the power supply doing in there?!

  • @YamiPoyo Supplying power, what else?

  • @SoulJestic Without exploding?

  • @YamiPoyo Well mineral oil doesn't conduct electricity.

  • @SoulJestic it isnt

  • @SoulJestic true

  • @SoulJestic everything except for the hard drive and dvd

  • @YamiPoyo STAYING COOL!

  • @YamiPoyo STAYIN COOL!

  • OMG! seriously a computer works inside liquid?

  • This...Is nuts....Maan, it's a simple fish tank (I'd say like 40bucks) completely customized. I especially loved the CD opening at the bottom

  • where's the hard disk?

  • so absolutely nothing happens to your motherboard you can even put a power supply in there

  • @1RUNXBL correct

  • I have been seeing allot of this type of project.. why does everyone have the hard drive out of the oil? it would be quieter having it in the oil as well.. regards

  • @brunodeffense the oil would get inside the hdd and would not allow it to read or write correctly

  • i love the idea, but it would be kinda hard and inconvenient i think, say, if the computer needed repairs

  • @lunarlander8 If your computer needed repairs, you shouldn't do this, unless you know how to fix the repairs yourself.

  • @Replicatorz no my computer is fine. i was saying what if the computer needed repairs in the future?

  • if you unplug the cpu fan will it increase the cpu temp?

  • so when you build this kind of rig, you should have at least future proof parts like 8core, 512bit GPU and 16gb ram...

i like the optical drive setup

  • @DailyFlux thank you

  • The integrated disc tray just KILLED me! Iam SO doing this next week!

  • @mrTacroy thank you

  • what is a gallon :3

  • @some18yo 5 gallon

  • thats intense, i might do it for fun if i get my hands on an old computer

  • @CarlosSpicyWeiner7 i think i am to just with how awesome this is itll only probably be a windows xp comp nothing special more just for the cool factor lol :P

  • Why?

  • Oh yeah and what if I decided to put it back into a non oil filled case? Do I just take everything out and let it dry for a couple of days?

  • @RashidulThePlumber just dab the board and ram with a dry cloth

  • So wait, you just mounted everything into a fish tank and then filled it with oil?! o.O Wont that fuck everything up? What are your temperatures like? And noise levels?

  • @RashidulThePlumber Electricity does NOT travel through oil that well so it works perfect. Temps are prob low like around 20-30c and noise lvls are only as loud as if u had a bubbler, if not it should be just about silent if not silent. :D

  • @neosmith80 Thanks for taking the time out to reply to my comment!

  • Poor... living in a cage... ;]

  • good guy just overclocking their problems

  • That's gotta be at least 10,000 dollars

  • @Figlitiblitification no lololooool its actually less than building a comp you don't need a real case just a fishtank

  • nonsens - if oli is not cooling - not big change then air

  • @rvdextron have a big diference = 0 dba, under oil fans don't make any sound :)

  • @patrickrebecci good point

  • I like the optical drive mounting--Nice!

We're dunking entire racks of servers :-)

  • ITS NOT an Windows 7 PC! OMG i hate when i someone ask whats your computer and hes reply is windows 7...im want to punch him hardly...not you

  • were did u get the case and have u ran into any problems with the set up

  • Can you tell me are there any risks and dangers concerning this cooling system ?

  • where is the harddrive?

  • @MattblahMatt underneath the tank next to the optical drive

  • If you took the metal case and fan out of the power supply, it would really enhance the looks of the build. Great job :)

  • @thecyberati The fan keeps the oil circulating, if I'm not mistaken.

  • @WASDLeftClick Nope. The oil is way too viscous for the fan to actually do anything. It spins a little bit, but doesn't have any circulating effect. The thermal forces themselves circulate the oil. Just like hot air rises, cold air sinks down. The hot oil moves up and away and the heat dissipates. That's the entire purpose of the oil.

  • @thecyberati thank you

  • How did you mount the m.b. and what aquarium did you use

  • @lego9969 i cut a piece of plexi-glass the size of the back of the tank, and drilled holes for standard brass standoffs. mounted the motherboard to said standoffs and then slid the plexi-glass into the back inside of the case held in place with a couple pieces of metal bent into a u-shape, clamping the plexi-glass to the back of the tank.

  • Journey in the backround!

  • wtf why would u do tht, its called get more fans or a bigger case with more fans lol

  • @MADagain321 because i can..

  • I've got a AMD Phenom II x4 956 @ 3.4 GHz, 8GB's ram and a sapphire AMD/ATI HD6950 ... would I need to cool of the oil other then with the bubbles pumping through it?

  • is your driver submerged, what can you not let the minral oil touch?

  • @Trollzofmykitchen hard drive and dvd are outside the tank

  • I was like OOOOHH!! when that cd drive came out!

    Thats really nice! Good work!

  • does anyone ever seen oil pc that has i5/i7 rig? strange though no one actually ever put their new rig inside the oil.....the highest/newest i saw was athlon64 3800+ with socket 754.

  • @hanrinch this is a 775 socket core 2 duo extreme

  • that is possibly the best oil pc i have ever seen though, most of them look reli untidy and the cd drives are all over the shop, well bloody done mate, might need a cooler device if ur gonna do longer runtimes tho

  • upgrading the parts must be messy.

  • @andyli916 yea it would be. i havent upgraded anything, but i have moved it a few times and that is a real pain!

  • how much is mineral oil?

  • @DanielBenacek

    4 gallons in a 5 gallon tank

  • i think the background music is ways better than the pc cooled on mineral oil^^

  • @MetalGear2k is it really WAYS better

  • Jesse, you forgot to mention that it's for sale...

  • @cwills1034 Oh yea it IS for sale.

  • looks like it is missing a radiator to cool off the oil

  • @drkcodeman it stays plenty cool without a radiator

  • @jesse4717269 longer run times would need a radiator tho otherwise the oil would RELI heat up and ul get the 'chip pan ' effect, not so good for pc...

  • what mineral Oil was used? With additives or not? brand or reference!

  • @FroziS1

It is pharmaceutical grade mineral oil, bought by the gallon from jefferspet website

  • apperantly -1 intelligence for me lol didnt know that

  • yea thats bullcrap hello SHORT CIRCUIT ANYONE!!!!

  • yea, -1 INT for you.

Mineral Oil is a dielectric, that means is DOES NOT conduct electricity.

Great job to the OP BTW

  • @Vilga098 Mineral Oil is 100% non-conductive! Read a Book!

  • @Vilga098 Retard

  • @RecklessDrift <--obvious jealousy!

  • 20 Liter ?

  • @kwadrat1993 5 gallon tank, 4 gallons of mineral oil

  • i must build one now lol

  • friggin amazing

  • Way slick on the dvd drive man, I assume the HDD is also under there?

  • yes it is, on the left side
