  • First "Last Kiss" and now this? Please Mr. Vedder...quit murdering music!

  • @kuwinsitall let's see you do better.

  • @awake1251

This is a very easy song to play on ukelele. Most 4th-graders could do it. I challenge Vedder to a sing-off.

  • @kuwinsitall You are just one of the typical youtube trollers who thinks he/she is pretentious enough to talk down to people you don't know about how what they do for a living isn't up to your standards. If you don't like the music, then why get on here and complain about it? If you have nothing nice to say, then just move on. Eddie Vedder wouldn't give a flying shit about your opinion and neither do the people who like this video.

  • @awake1251

JK....this is actually me, Eddie Vedder. I was just wondering if anyone would stand up for me.

Thank you. 2 free Pearl Jam tix to our next show in Boise.

    God Bless,

    Eddie Vedder

  • Eddie Vedder is a gentleman and scholar. Huzzah Mr. Vedder...huzzah.

  • @smirch

    youtube needs more huzzah's

  • Tonight you belong to bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • HA! The Jerk! I was hoping she'd pull out the trumpet.

  • Buzzing starts at 2:05

  • Love to hear Ed play the ukulele, and can't wait for his solo uke album to come out next month!!

  • I read that Eddie's new album will contain this song with Cat Power instead of Ms. Weiss...do you know anything about it??

  • =)

  • I still think that Pearl Jam has one great album left inside them. Ten was almost it, but they never quite reached the Nevermind like stratosphere of pop perfection, although Alive came pretty darn close. I like the fact that they never shied away from their Rock and Roll roots.

  • Wow, eddie is unstoppable!

  • that was lovely!

  • Eddie's speech at the very beginning-- and the audience's response-- makes me want to cry. never got to see them live, but i totally agree.

  • @JivaRiah

I know what you mean :( I only recently discovered the greatness of Sleater Kinney, and now they're gone. Not like I'd be able to afford going or find anyone who'd wanna drive me, but still.

  • great song...too bad the audio quality is about as useless as a drum kit for hellen keller

  • I once shot pool w/Eddie as my partner @ a dive bar in Encinitas. He just waltzed in one night & I knew right away it was he. He made some napkin art, signed for me that I have to this day.

  • Eddie sounds like me wishing to have seen all those old groups live.I feel for all the kids on here that wish they could have been around in the 90s to have seen my generations music. The kids today only have whats left of the Generation X bands. Not much else going on that I can tell.

  • @SgtBastard101 i hope you only mean a few bands in the early/mid 90's.cause the 90's sucked for music.music died around 91/92.only bands that were good from the 90's was alice in chains and pearl jam.and the only good pearl jam record is ten.the rest of the 90's sucked.

  • @glynnracing79 That's like,yer opinion,man. Sounds like ya might be a bit biased or un-educated about underground scenes/bands in the 90s.

  • @SgtBastard101 no one cares about undeground music...cause it all sucks.but please tell me a few undergrounds bands that you think are good

  • Husker Du.

  • @glynnracing79 Dude are you serious? "no one cares about underground music" bands are "underground" before they become famous, though some choose to stay underground. Indie music is some of the best music. How old are you glynnracing? I do have to say that out of all the music generations that the 90's were the worst but I still love a ton of 90's music. ha and by the way you say that music died 91/92, most mainstream died 1999 todays only real music is underground!

  • @ShibbyDude6969 underground music is way different then up and coming bands are.underground bands do not become famous cause they suck.bands that become famous do what they need to do to try to become famous as in following the trends that are out at the time.

  • @glynnracing79 MGMT is an underground band (was) and they just went to the Grammies. Underground bands do not become famous cause they suck? Trust me when I tell you that bands are Underground before they are famous ha damn dude you are uneducated when it comes to music.

  • @glynnracing79 haha wow I can't believe I argued with you about mainstream and underground music, I just saw your channel comments and clearly you are not a like-able person and you apparently your comments on vids are bullshit.

  • @ShibbyDude6969 my 2 cents but the late 80's an early 90's were pretty good man ... by 96-97 it was getting verse chorus repeat 2x fuzz box repeat solo, but that music beat the hell out of most what had been coming out for the last 20 years.

there were no relevant lady gaga's, spears, simpsons, hiltons then.... just ppl who played cheap guitars thru semicheap amps loudly like you'd never heard before.... it rocked

  • @utah321 That period of music had some serious change. It was the heyday for female vocalists as well. My advise to anyone who hates their radio today, start streaming college stations. The only good station on satelite is Little Steven`s Undeground Garage. The playlist is pretty redundant though. If you have a smartphone, get an fm transmitter. There is soooo much good music the masses are missing.

  • @glynnracing79...you,sir, have no taste in music

  • @SgtBastard101 you are the man..... i looked up you're profile, i never new or met anyone with the same views i have...... in music ,movies or world culture and just about anything else...... keep in contact. i wish you well.

  • turn the cell phones off people it sounds like bees in my speakers

  • Simply AWESOME!

  • this song makes me wanna belong to eddie...uuuugghhh he's soooo effing hot!!!

  • dude! every song he sings or he plays in makes me wanna belong to him!!!

i don't care and i will never care if he's too old for me.

    i luv him.

  • Song starts at 1:57

  • @glickle thanks broski

  • Eddie is who,Patience or Prudence? LOL I love this-love guys like Eddie & John Frusciante who love playing the "oldies" proving youth isn't always wasted on the young.

  • She should have pulled out a cornet.

  • wow... eddie with an ukulele? wasn't expecting that but that was a treat.

  • the audience killed the mood

  • I love that a pearl jam audience applaud when vedder mentions the beatles!

  • Um, not a Pearl Jam show.

  • that was a good show, cute song...

  • more uke more uke

  • I am so not an Eddie Vedder fan and when he came out before the show I was really kind of pissed "don't waste my time, Eddie Vedder, I don't effing like you!!" But then he redeemed himself with this cover.

  • he didn't need to "redeem" himself

his respect and admiration for S-K is genuine

    and it's obvious

he was very honoured to be there and i wish i could have been there, too

sleater-Kinney were ( are ) the best rock band around---one of the Great Ones

S-K didn't need Pearl Jam to "support" them, it was the other way around--and Vedder had the grace to acknowledge that fact on many occasions

respect for PJ and Eddie Vedder!!

  • Davekat, I think you completely missed the point of what Shmemi was saying. Shmemi said absolutely nothing about S-K being supported by Pearl Jam. Get off your soap box and please read the comments before replying to them.

  • i like my soap box

i can see Russia from there!

  • lol, that was actually really funny. :D

  • thanks.

I'm here all week, oh and try the veal.

Seriously, I once upon a time disliked Pearl Jam simply because of the knee-jerk assumption that a popular band must somehow be playing to the proverbial Lowest Common Denominator, and is therefore phony and crassly manipulative.

But then I got over myself :)

  • great comment ha you really are funny!

  • Be sure to tip your waitresses! :-)

Glad to hear that you realized that just because they got popular, doesn't mean they weren't a fucking fabulous group of artists. Ed and PJ are perfect examples of how to do it right. They got huge, and then actively pushed fame away after a couple albums. From about 1995 to somewhere between Riot Act in 2002 and Pearl Jam in 2006, Eddie and the boys actively shunned the spotlight. ...Then they got over themselves... :-)

  • sayinf "effing" is so rock n roll and im sure sk would be proud ...

  • janet weiss is awesome!

  • ...me too..

  • Eddie is the man and what i would not give to see him live.

  • You've never seen Pearl Jam live? Man you're missing out big time.

  • I know I said every time they have come around that I was going but could never get tickets..next time

  • i would belong to him on any night!! >:)

  • @prljmmn i would be-low (blow) him any night
