Thank you so much for posting this. I discovered this recording during my first year at Juilliard, and I nearly lost my mind. I've since had the pleasure of working with Jaime several times and he's one of the few whom I still look at in awe, purely from the effect this had on me many years ago.
Yet I had the displeasure of reading from a master that Bach on piano sounds awfully! What a diversity of "tastes" in this world, ain´t? All I have to say now here is MANY, MANY THANKS, "japino11", FOR HAVING POSTED THIS FOR ME AND THE WORLD!!!
I love Bach in all his manifestations, still this is eccentric playing. The ornate ornamentation is their own. Never have seen any of it in a score. Very slow tempo! I was listening with the headphones, and at the violin entrance, his vibrato was so deep that I thought a cell phone was going off nearby, in my room, or in the recording. In the area of 3:10 and 3:36, it sounds Spanish-flavored, with castanet rhythm in the piano. I would call this the "Latin Bach". With love, jkhalsa.
Beautiful. Glenn Gould is the greatest pianist of all time, and Bach is the greatest (along with Beethoven) composer of all time.

The passage at 4:59 is redolent of Brandenburg 1, if only for a few seconds.
