  • Your the best ! my friend I work at a school and had nothing planed for the made it science day had the kids do this they loved it ! Thanks

  • @bubblegril your welcome and tell the kids crazy chris says hi :D

  • can i use any kind of salt or does it has to be rock salt? is sea salt ok?

  • @amounkisses I used regular table salt and this worked perfectly fine for me so you certainly can use sea salt. But for the amount of sae salt your gunna need its gunna cost you alot of money. So instead use regular table salt which is pretty much cheap to buy cause you gotta pour alot of salt.

  • LAWL,I live you!

  • @xcokkijar Thanks im really glad to hear you enjoy the sci files :D

  • wtf is half and half im confused

  • @UrHighlight half and half is half cream/half milk, you can find it in your dairy section at your local grocery store.

  • yeah i have did it, but it tastes rather salty too

    hahaha.

  • @sidiqhersino you know what next time you do this, put the ice cream in a couple of plastic bags instead of just one, that way the salt wont get in the ice craem and make it taste all salty :)

  • aw wow i wish you made this video two years ago... in my science class we tried to make ice cream but utterly failed mainly because the bags we used were too thick so it was well insulated, i didnt think of chocolate POWDER and instead i used choco chips, and then i didnt bring a towel so my hads were freezing. Ontop of that we didnt have enough time :( well even though middle school is long over ill send this video (with your permission ofcourse... ill just wait till you reply) to teachers :D

  • @warhawkpro Ahhhman thats 2 bad dude. You need alot of insulation for this work you want to keep the bags cold I think the reason why it didnt work is cuz maybe your class didnt use alot of salt and the heat from your hands kept the ice cream mixture warm. The towel is there not just to keep your hands from freezing but also to keep all the cold inside. Yeah I was thinking about that i wanted chocolate ice cream and thought why not add chocolate poweder :D You can share these vids with teachers

  • man ....it didn't work:(

  • @7Costy7 See if I can help you out here n get it 2 work :) 1) Did you use half & half, cuz you gotta use half and half other wise your just gunna get a milky shake. 2) Did you shake it extreamly rough, cuz you gotta shake it rough you cant do lil shakes. 3) Did you add alot of salt when you layered the salt and ice, cuz you gotta add alot of salt for the tempreture to drop way down low so it will freeze the milky mixture 4) Did you try placing the mixture in the center surrounded by ice?

  • @Socoolscienceshow :| i didn't do anything like this:))) you're right:)) sorry ....my fault:))

  • @7Costy7 Thats what im here for, to help people find experiments and if they cant get them to work try to help them get it 2 wokr :D

  • please on the next science file please make it how to make plants grow faster or how make a rainbow indoors please i will subscribe you PLEASE

  • @analydia32 Growing plants faster thats a pretty good idea, I wish I could do your sci file request next week but there are plenty of people who have asked questions before you and I answer all questions in the order they were recieved. I will add your sci file request to my list though :D As for making a rainbow inside hmmmm.. i tell ya what I'll send you a message on how to do that, cuz I already made a rainbow vid and I just dont wanna get in a habbit of repeating vids :)

  • Great video, informative and fun. Thanks!

  • @gisltome Your welcome Im glad I could share it with you now go enjoy some homemade ice cream :D

  • @wishingstar7871 oh man that makes me sad that something as impressive as stopping pop can fizz from a shaken popcan lost to oil and water dont mix :( Next year hand the judges a pocan thats been shaken up but not nothings done to it and let the can explode all over them :D

  • We made ice cream in my Freshman science class. :) It was pretty tasty. These are very intriguing videos. And the fast pace keeps my attention while nothing else can!

  • @WaffleXmonster13 Im glad to hear that some teachers are making science fun in thier classrooms. In my freshmen year I had a teacher who put marshmellows in liquid nitrogen and we ate them. That was pretty amazing and quite tasty as well. Now we just need more science teachers doing the same things in class. Im glad you enjoy the sci files I do try to keep them fast pace because its more entertaining to watch wild and Crazy Chris then dull and boring class :)

  • @wishingstar7871 Whuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut a lava lamp you mean like one of those little oil water ones with the light under it.... which one of my sci file did you do? Cuz I know 95% of these sci files are way more impressive then an oil/water lava lamp and most people know that oil/water doesnt mix.

  • @wishingstar7871 Whoops wrong message that was for some1 else, heres you message Haha Did you do a good written report? Cuz you know some times you can have a really impresive experiment yet sometimes a bad report can cost you a ribbon. I know when I did the science fair, I always had a really nifty experiment but unfortunetly I always did bad on the written report. Haha Well Good luck next time and hey even if you dont win at least you will have a really impresive experiment to show people :D

  • What can you u as a substitue for half in half if you don't have any?

  • @1ofthemakers You could try it with regular milk but I doubt you will get ice cream, you might get like a thin cold milk shake Haha and even if you do get ice cream it may not taste like ice cream. Half and half has fat in it, so when you shake the bag the fat helps to thicken the mixture. Also the fat gives you the ice creamy taste were all used to :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow Yeah I used milk. It was pretty good. :)

  • @1ofthemakers Wow I didnt think milk would work cuz theres not enough fat in regular milk, i guess I was wrong :D Well at least you got to make ice cream and Im happy about that :D I still ike the half and half reciepi :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow It was like a milkshake though

  • @1ofthemakers Thats what I thought would happen with milk, thats why I didnt really wanna say use milk as a substitute. You know you can get half and half in the dairy section at any grociery store. It should be in the same area they keep the milk and if you cant find it just ask someone at the store to help you find it. It works so much better with half and half :D

  • @wishingstar7871 alright :D Did you win or did you at least come in 2nd or 3rd :)

  • Can you do next episode without hat I am curious what you look like without it :D

  • @Origamimaster321 without my HAT!!!! I would never go hatless ever ever :D Nah im just kidding I'll send you last weeks sci file where I dont have my hat on and dont have my lab coat on either :D well at least not at the begining and ending anyways :D

  • i wish you were my science teacher //you should have a tv show maybe pbs?

  • @frvfilms PBS kids Yea :D that would be pretty sweet about as sweet as this ice cream Haha

  • Ice cream sound good, on a hot day like this.

  • @goofenhour yea it does when its 40(C) outside ice cream sounds like the perfect things :D thats why I made another bag of ice cream to enjoy today as well :)

  • Someone get this man a TV show.

  • @Littlesam1718 I agree.... petition for the so cool science show to be put on TV :D

  • ice creams is good for you see it has milk Lol

  • @Pegasusthebeyblade Ice cream does have alot of calcium in it.... it wouldnt say its 100% healthy though Haha but ice cream is fine in moderation :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow i know it can give you a chill if it does just heat it up no worries and i agree you can get a good amount of calcium

  • @Pegasusthebeyblade the reason its not really healthy is bcuz it contains alot of fat and sugar to much fat can clogg your arteries and to much sugar can lead to diabeties. Its ok to eat ice cream but just in moderation.

  • @Socoolscienceshow i know i was kidding XD just get milk then put it in freezer now you have a calcium or milk popsicle though

  • @Pegasusthebeyblade I dont know if I would want a milk popcicle Haha

  • @Socoolscienceshow yay but if your child doesn't want anymilk cover the milk popsicle with chocolate thenthey et calcium woohoo

  • @Pegasusthebeyblade yeh I supose that would work put chocoalate on anything and kids will eat it :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow yup hmmmm maybie strayberry for girls XD I want a ice cream sunday SO BADLY NOW its so yummy aww i have strabberry hershys oh well just have to do

  • @Pegasusthebeyblade ice cream sunday that sounds good since its supposed to get up to about 90 today :D

  • @Socoolscienceshow i know in las vegas its like 100 its more fun than buying icecream and just scooping it also gets you pump up

  • I will try that

  • @khoi98 its definetly worth it enjoy your home made ice cream :D

  • I SHALL ALWAYS EAT ICE CREAM..... every 20-30 min..... 9_9

  • @JohnnyMorphine Haha that was funny :D

  • It's a really cool experiment but just too tedious to actually shake it for 20 or 30 mins, cool video though!

  • @NoHopeForGays Hey havent herd from you in a while hows things? You know that old saying, you work for it you earn it... its well worth shaking the bag for 20-30mins. Think to yourself while shaking the bag, when im done im going to have delious ice cream :D

  • @TheRoman200 Thats how salt lowers the freezing point of water, pretty nifty huh :D

  • I would like to do that! I like ice cream :D

  • @tfan0 go give it a try its really simple and once you pass the 20-30mins of shaking its a sweet treat reward :D
