  • The fixtures in the new one and the colors looked very dated compared to modern homes in America. Cool video, very interesting.

  • get the house that was 25 years old

  • Is that 200.000 dollar US dollars or aussie dollars?

  • @MriBackup

    So what?

  • My house is 800,000 USD lol

  • It was 380 yen to a dollar when I was in Japan ; year 1973. Is it still around that? :)

  • @han0115 Ooh noo not at all. It's 77yen per dollar atm.

  • Jesus these houses are cheap o.o

  • Dude that place with wood has real potential. Fixer up.

  • those houses are cheap cheap cheap

  • mm i will take 170k house.. HARD WORK FTW !!1

  • when you state thep rices, are theprices in yen or USD?

  • so much money D:

  • Wow houses in Japan are pretty cheap aren't they? Over here it's hard to get a house for under €300,000 D=

Are traditional style houses typically more or less expensive?

  • The last house was my favorite :D roughly how much did that cost and in what part of Japan was that? And someone asked earlier and I'll ask again though cause I saw no answer :( are the house prices going up or down? XD

  • @dondondodo

    About $200k.

    Aichiken.

Some parts of Japan prices are going up slowly.. other parts they are remaining the same.

  • I rather liked the goofy house with the nice wood pieces. I'm 5' 8" though. A bit too tall for a 6' ceiling all the way around.

  • @healie haha yeah, i somewhat found that particular house interesting, never seen anything like it, but since i'm 6' 3", it would be fairly annoying to live there :)

  • @JL3Wind Tall people fascinate me. >.>

My dream home is, to put it simply, an old house. One with like, a secret stairway/tower thing...I think they call it a Victorian-style home? I'm not 100% on that.

  • @healie I like the same kind of houses, they are so much more interesting design-wise and often have a lot of history surrounding them!

  • @JL3Wind Exactly. I'm a big history buff, but ironically enough i'm bad with remembering exact dates.

  • you know how much i would love to live in that house

  • that house looks awesome

  • These houses are so cheap! Can you make a video about buying an apartment/flat in Japan?

  • the real estate guy joke made me LOL..... it's so true!

  • Do you know the current real estate market in Japan, whether it has declined or increased over the past couple years? In America Real estate market has crashed, housing has decreased 25-40%, but in China there was a housing boom over the past few years with properties increasing 100-400% in just 3-4 years.

  • did you end up finally buying any house since you this video was made?

  • omg, Iv'e got mine 56 square meters for 60k $ that whole house would be small for one me XD

  • i really like that last house! i have been thinking of moving out there to japan. great info and great vids! defiantly better houses then here in cali for the price.

  • that last staircase would be a pain to get furniture up.

  • i LOVE the last house that was shown in this video!

when i have the funds and move to japan,i am most definitley looking for a home like that!

  • Last one looks good! Some of the old ones have alot of character tho.

I'm moving there in 4 weeks, I won't be buying a house in the near future, but maybe a few years. I want a nice old place, the other half wants a new place :S....

    ARGH!

  • the townhouse at 5:00 is GORGEOUS! i want it!

  • wow, really interesting video.

  • Can we please see more? How much was the last one and where is it please...

  • are there dome home like in anime/mangas shaped in domes? How much for a vacant lot in japan as well construction of a new home with japanese old style. so many questions. XD im buzzing with excitement.

  • are there dome home like in anime/mangas shaped in domes?

  • How much were they asking for the last one and where is it?

  • I Like the last one alot!

    Cute and simple

  • Sorry I might have missed it, but have you found a house yet? If so have you done a tour of it yet?

  • Your videos are great , I like the last house shown very cute . I think I would prefer to live out in the rural or countryside , im sure they are less expensive , not sure if they would be built better , worse or the same as the ones closer to town though.

  • They're only showing you the gems arent they lol.

  • oh 200,000 japanese yens and how would you get the money is it cheep there or alot do you earn alot of money in jobs?

  • I think your best option is to go to a real estate company that has connections with the bank. That way you can get repossessed houses. Also are you aware of the tax benefits of buying a home within 15 years of when it's built?

  • compared to here in belgium this is actually verry nice for that price..

  • Stuffed bird? I would get out so fast, and probably have nightmares.

  • ah, love that last house the most

  • I seriously thought that the bird just died in that house by accident.

  • $250,000 for THAT? 200 grand for the red one?? They don't even look that roomy! WTF

What are the realtors' criteria for pricing in Japan? Are the property values inflated because you were looking at houses in or near a high-cost city like Tokyo??

  • Japanese houses don't look very enticing, tbh. But maybe that's just because I'm American and used to much fancier ones.

  • ahahah in brazil you can get wonderfull big houses at $50,000 =D, to bad in japan is a way to expansive.

  • @hoylguy11 yeah but in brazil u dont get japan with the house... i would love to pay that high to be in japan and have my own house in there.

  • @Houstof As i said too bad in japan is a way expansive and i cant afford to stay here after my graduation, the fact that in brazil you get a excellent house for a low cost is because there we have A lot of space to build, thus making it cheaper, but in japan they are in short with space. If i get a job here in Japan by the end of my graduation i ll stay

  • @hoylguy11 yeah... less space... higher the price of the land... i was wonderin about apartments price... since its smaller and the "land" is shared... maybe its a good choice.. do you have any idea about it?

  • @Houstof yes yes, its cheaper, BUT it depends of the location, the nearest of donwtown the more expensive it gets, for example in tokyo there a reasonable prices, but if you go look into the "nobles" districts even the smaller ones will have sky high prices.

  • I love that last house, not so traditional but really very nice.

  • where can u find houses like the last one u showed? oh and im just curious are there going to be more houses to be shown cause i would really be intrested

  • @starorb

Ones like that are in the countryside usually..

    more house videos coming..

  • My god...the average house here is $450,000 CAD.

I should have stayed in Aichi :P

  • @silentrob77

The average house in Vancouver is 800,000. My APARTMENT cost around 450,000. You have it pretty good, imo!

  • Thanks for the reply !

  • Interesting video, thanks

Are you an investor, or just showing samples of housing prices ??

Do you look at home in dolar per sq ft, or I guess in Japan sq meter ??

What areas outside of Tokyo are more affordable, or does it matter ??

  • @TrueIntuition

As you would expect.. out in the countryside is cheaper than the cities.

    Japanese land/house measurement is tsubo

  • hello, thank you for your information. I assume this is outside the city area. However it may look attractive , it is very inconvenient due to it's location. Could you please , sometime , give an estimation on the cost of buying a house within the Japanese subway / railway area? For instance , the Yoyogi area with the Odakyu line , it is interesting for foreigners , it being close to Shinjuku , Roppongi and Shibuya , but a little farther away. What would a small house cost there ?
  • Comment removed

  • Where are these places? that would make a world of difference. More info needs to be given as far as city, proximity to nearest eki, grocery stores, and major amenities. You can find land with an old house on that you can tear down or reform, in Tokyo 10 minutes from a station for around $230,000. Just land is more expensive because the tearing down of the old house is already done and the developers usually snatch these up.

  • man that last house was niceee

  • Hi! Just a suggestion you might want to put a little tag to say what currency you're mentioning in this video. :-)

  • @deeper2deep he says dollars and i assume australian dollars as he's australian

  • We planted bamboos in our back yard in Northern Kentucky. Ever since we are struggling to keep the bamboos keep in the boundary. Watch out for what you wish for.

  • Looks like tile roofing on some of the ones you've looked at. Last forever.

  • The last house looks particularly nice. Too bad it's the most expensive. I don't know what I would do with 3 bedrooms! I don't really mind not having a lot of outside space to myself so I think that i would be able to manage buying a house as long as I could afford a decent place and I did a bit more reading beforehand.

  • What part of Japan do you live?

  • The insides of the homes are beautiful...well... most of them haha... but the view when you look out the window is quite depressing. At least in the last home it is.

  • makes me appreciate my yard a bit more

  • i liked the 180,000 grand one even if there was no land it had a very nice feel to it and umm is the numbers you put up are they in yen or American money cause i would like to know how much the house would cost in Canadian money? oh and would you think that depending on the ares the prices of houses may vary ?

  • your so mean calling them freak shows. it may make people think that all houses in japan are awfull and lack character. don't be biast please. tell us about the things that are good and bad. or else your negative tone will detract from subscribers. i love japan so i wouldn't really mind :)

  • Wow! That last house was nice. Not too keen on the price. It seemed a little high but it was still a nice looking house. Even the cover to the tub was still wrapped in plastic lol.

  • Assuming that you buy a house (for 170,000 just an exemple), how much do you have to pay after ? Like is there a income you have to give every month; not counting water, gas, electricity? Sorry for my ignorance!

  • @Marycmps

    Yes, city tax and insurance.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom for 200000 u can buy a very nice villa in dubai not this shity japs homes

  • @khalid6591

for 200,000 you can be the king of a village in African......the value is not in the house alone, its about the environment, lifestyle. Dubai is empty nowadays since everyone bought expensive properties during the boom but lost their jobs and can't afford to pay back the loan, then escape out of the country. I bet you could even hear echos.

  • @Marycmps do you live somewhere without some form of council tax?

  • Comment removed

  • @Marycmps Imposto Municipal Sobre Imoveis? Portugal is where you live? they have council tax. IMI?

  • I'm just wondering, how much would it cost to buy the land THEN build the house on top, in Japan?

  • @midnull

Cheapest would be about $300,000 for a tiny one..

  • OMG I hope it takes you forever to find a house so you post more of these videos... houses outside of America are cool!

  • WOW! Japan is very much like California in terms of buying a house on a particular amount of land. I love Tennessee you can get more of your money plus the environment is very very rich, thou the people are very ignorant. arrogant, and illiterate depending on where you live, where I live atm my neighbors are very friendly and generous. Anyway, like I was saying Japan is very much like California.

  • i gotta say...the first few houses do look like a disaster..but the last one was nice.

  • Here in Norway you got to pay 1,5-2 mil dollars for a 250 sq m house if they are close to the cities. And 80k dollars for a standard sedan car!!!

  • All these houses seem in the city or near it, they seem kind of expensive for the size I was wondoring if you could find a cheaper and or bigger house in the county/rural area? thx

  • wow 200,000 for that much you could buy a mansion where i live. but living in japan would be awesome

  • Ahhhh that's how they get you, show you weird houses within your price range then a really nice house that you really like but for 50k more

  • The last house looks cool.

  • looks very nice, I want it! ^^

  • I enjoy this video!!!!! Because I'm trying to buy a house.... Thank's!!!!

  • The last one!!!! <3 Most definitely. Definitely keep searching, you'll find your diamond in the ruff i know it

  • The second one was cute! good luck and hope u get ur bamboo forrest in the back!!

  • I don't know why I never see toilets like the last house in U.S, it makes so much sense. wash your hands with the same water that goes into the tank

  • I liked the outside of the second one, though you didn't show the inside at all.

  • i like the second house it looked nice.

  • Definitely the last one

  • I really like the one for 250K...it reminds me of my host family's home when i went to school in japan back when.. brings back great memories..thanks for the video 5 stars...

  • This is a GREAT video!! fun to watch! Thanks!!!

  • I LOVE THAT LAST HOUSE VEARY NICE .^_^

  • I like the last one!

  • It's simple, if for you quality > character, go for the last one. If, like me, character > quality, go for the second one :)

I love that second one :)

  • the first and last one looked real nice

  • 2:00 Beautiful trees..

  • the last place is rly nice, i love how its all clean, if the house b4 with the bamboo was clean like that and had better construction, i would love it.

  • Seems like the prices are like in Sweden

  • i have to look up to say hi to my friend. he's tall. he gets

a pain in the back when he's in the kitchen at the sink.

for him its too low. now in holland people are taller on

averidge then the typical japanese person. so would

taking hight of furniture into consideration be an isue

if you're tall and going to japan? im sure that with my

hight of 184 centimeters the japanese furniture is a bit

small for me. is this a problem when going to japan?

  • The last one is a good choice, but I like the second one because of the traditional style. 200k is a good deal, there arent houses at that price where i live.

  • lol I am with you n the bamboo forest!

  • the one for 250,000 dollars was nice. how much yen is that like 24,000,000?

  • hmmm, what are they using that "thing" on the bathtub to?

at 5:30 to the right on the bathtub?

  • sooo expensive...even that "horror house". By the way, how are apartments there? are most of them for rent? and is it me or you don't have video #2?

  • For some reason, the first one looked pretty big for 200K, and most of the houses around here are going for more. Heck, even a house that has less space goes for more (200K for a 1500 sq. ft. while 200K in Japan gets you a 2100 sq. ft.)

  • Nice man keep interesting videos coming Thumbs up!

  • Oooooh thank youuuuuuu when you say dollars....are you talkin US$?? ^^ and what about taxes????

Also could you make a video on domestic animals :D ??? like dogs cats....

cause i dont see much space....so i mean you know to walk the dogs and stuff.....

Thank you keep the good work :D

  • "better than the last place" LOL by a long shot xD

  • 00:18 blue roof ftw haha

  • wow this is quite cheap compared to where I live. A regular 150-200 m2 house here commonly costs 500.000-1.000.000 $

I wonder if this is a suburban area to a city? And what's the distance to the center of the city in this case?

  • These videos are great, please keep them coming!

I also wanted to ask, as I have asked both Hikosaemon and Richard from Genki Japan, neither of them answering, about Hanko. I know you did a video on them but if I were to live in Japan would I have to have one? And if so would my Western name have to be written in Katakana on one?

  • Looks fun! I always liked house hunting, haha. The last one looked fairly nice! I'm usually not much of a one for little apartment-y houses, but it looks good. :)

  • I liked the 1st and 3rd houses. 3rd one looked like my style (what does that say about me? lol). The prices weren't crazy and they almost matched how much I'd pay for a decent house in my town.

  • the front looks ugly but everything else is ok

  • How much for the last one? Is that in the same area that you currently live in? It is nice to know that homes aren't as expensive as I thought they were in Japan. That is good news for me! Thanks :)

  • Wow verry EXPENSIVE! In my country with 250,000 USD you can build a 1000m² House in the best Neighborhood of the city. The size of the city is small something about 800,000 people living here. Or Buy an Single floor apartament of 850m² of high standard. But IMO i liked the last the Most!

  • Wow, those prices were cheap cheap cheap for my area. In Calgary, Canada the house prices are usually around 500-600k USD.

  • @PhilMcGrawAndy Wow, i live in brazil, third world country are like this, with 600k you could buy a mansion next to the beach and live like a king or something like that! ROFL!

  • I like the last one ^.^

its very cute and I prefer new houses. I live near the train station here too but its kinda underground so we never hear the train.

  • This video was awsome. I've always wanted to see what some japanesse houses looked like after only seeing houses in only animes.

  • The last house looked great.

  • Last place looks the best, what prefecture are you looking mate?

  • Nice houses :3

  • Think it is pretty hard to draw a comparision, are those houses located to a bigger city or are they just in the boonies?

But this seriee is a great idea! Looking foreward to see more of it!!! :D

  • Wow, nice houses, but living near train stations...no thanks. I guess that makes them cheaper but how would you rest?

  • @hungimahar I used to live near a train station, not in Japan mind, it was kinda noisy but you get used to it. That and it can be pretty convenient. :)

You can sleep through train noises pretty easily since they're pretty rhythmic, which compared to a sudden noise isn't too bad.

  • Thanks for taking us along, are there any pre war homes in the older style or are they rare? Good luck do they have virtual real estate sites that shows houses on line?

  • This was a very interesting video. Cheers for that.

It's nice seeing all the different houses

  • I guess when you need a place to stay, you cant beat the prices! :)

  • Under 6ft? Jesus, are most ceilings that low in Japan? I'm 6'7 and couldn't stand living with my head ducked all the time.

  • hight of ceilings are same as american house , so don't worry.

  • Houses in need of love.

  • Yeah, too bad Japanese people don't have a bbq culture like we do in America, it's kinda sad, yet very understandable.

Anyway, very interesting video. Good luck with the search! Hope to see more of it:]

  • Nice!

    Good luck with searching!

  • its hard choice i bet, I love the traditional style houses, but most of the ones you looked at where pretty beat up. that last house was really nice and smart.

  • thx for all your great vids its nice to see vids from another ozzy lol.i liked the first house the most.wish i could buy it :(.is the bird at 3:06 a real bird or made out of like bird feathers if you get what i mean?

  • Would you also perhaps venture out into the mountain villages? Im keen to purchase an older house in a more rural area.

  • Good luck with the search, interesting to see whats available.

  • I'm glad they let you film all this stuffs. It was reeeeaally interresting. Thank you ♥

  • the last one was my fav good luck

  • I like!! :D Whatever happend to that house you took pictures and videos on before?? I can't remeber what the video was called but it was a kind of oldish house but it looked quite good insidee

  • its better to buy a ferrari than to buy a house in japan

  • Mirare la casa de Nobita con mas respeto desde ahora @_@

  • I am so glad that you make videos like this because sometimes is easy to get carried away with the glamor of how Japan is pictured by foreigners so one forgets that there are all kinds of places to live in Japan.

  • Cool. Really dig'n this new series alot. THe new house was great but damn a 1/4 mil for that? OUCH! For older ones I liked the second house you showed. Is it just me or do all the insides of the older homes look a mess? Anyway, good luck with your search. And thanks again for the great vids.

  • mr japan how much the house in japan and why most of the people dont buy house but rent at apartment even they have big money

  • @kinla123 a my question is the european one make you own

  • waaa the second house is sooo cute!! i would live their i don't care how small it isXD

  • very nice houses

  • About how many square feet are these places? Or square meters?

  • are these prices USD or AUD? and and and what part of Japan is this? and i would love a veranda in Japan... iunno its one of my cloudy eyed romanticized dreams haha

  • The new one looked great. I like the style of it. In Japan, would that be the norm price tag for a place like that?

  • I will be in japan in a few weeks.. house hunting im excited i don't know if i should go with base ore housing out in town

  • Must be tough finding a house in Japan. A majority of them loooks small. I guess the good part is, you dont hear any gunshots or police sirens at night!

I like how you said "Real estate guys are the same all over the world...lol."

  • The height is about six feet tall?

My friend would have trouble living in that XD

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I been always looking for a video like this one on Youtube.

YOU ARE THE BEST!!! I like the HD quality and the details of each of your videos.

  • japan its self looks awesome but i have one problem

after watching the Japanese grudge i feel creeped out when i see Japanese houses

  • Looks like each house is set up for you to hit your head on the ceiling.
