  • Hurt locker wins

  • ┌∩┐(◕_◕)┌∩┐ We Hate New Youtube !!!!

  • Go Up in the air ♥

  • Iam not going to watch this scripted oscar bullshit next year or any year for that matter, what a waist of my time

  • @parrotcon waste. waist is what you put your belt around.

  • Who received a special tribute and who received a special nomination for his work with paraplegic children?

  • avatar was more groundbreaking and the fact that it's the highest grossing film of all time but neither of those will amount to shit...the hurt locker will win because it was (supposedly) a well-done movie that painted the iraq war and many of it's soldiers in a negative light.

  • how odd i thought that The time traveler's wife would be nomeenated or my sister's keeper.

  • @17thisone

time traveler's wife maybe but sister's keeper? it was HORRIBLE movie. the story sucked and even worse.... cameron diaz.... ugh she needs to really quit acting.

  • Go PRECIOUS!

  • Love District 9 glad it's nominated but I don't think it will win, it's the dark horse in this bunch. I hope it wins Adapted Screenplay, the only flaw that screenplay had was that in every intense scene the main character would drop like 20,000 f-bombs

  • DISTRICT 9 4 BEST SCREENPLAY!!

  • avatar sucks why do they bother to put those blue piece of shits i wish the "skywalkers" basted those blue assholes go DISTRICT-9

  • Avatar: good idea, frail story.

    District 9 = FTW

  • One other funny fact is that they expanded the number of Best Picture nominees because of The Dark Knight snub last year, which echoed worldwide as a "crime". But the odd thing is, if we look at the Director nominees (they're almost always the same as for Picture when there were 5), we'll see popular loved movies in the mix (Avatar, Inglourious Basterds)

  • NO surprises there.

The Dark Knight in the Oscars was a disaster. The only thing good was Ledger getting best supporting actor. It should've gotten best adapted screenplay, director, and picture. For godsakes, am I the only guy who saw 2 Forest Gump movies in Best Picture???

  • Even though I think Kathryn Bigelow really deserves to win Directing, I don't think her movie deserves Best Picture. I'd pick Inglourious Basterds. But I guess it will win 2 awards and nothing else (Supporting Actor / Original Screenplay)

  • the oscars really do suck now. 10 best picture nominations? are you serious? avavtar will probally win best picture imo because the academy kisses james camerons ass, and its made loads of cash. i wish up in the air, or the hurt locker will win but who knows

  • The Oscar was right to get more best picture noms because they totally screwed up last year. But half the nominations I can live without gettin there.

  • Having to watch Sandra Bullock defeat Meryl Streep will be too much to bear.

  • It would be so cool if 'The Hurt Locker' and 'Precious' tied for Best Picture...

  • Ten Best Picture nominees?!?!?! Whose bright idea was THAT?

  • I was thinking the same thing....

but hey, that's one way to attract viewers to the oscars....

you think they could've settled with six or seven noms though....

  • If Sandra Bullock gets best actress, im done with the oscars. I think gabourney sibdie should get it. Gabourney did a better X100 better than Sandra Bullock

  • think of a little aspect though: all film is subjective. and the academy knows that

  • I quit making OSCAR films.

  • JEREMY!!!!! YEAH:):):):)

  • Google Search "Stache500" and click on "2010 Oscar Nominations" for my predictions.

  • El Secreto de Sus Ojos, from Argentina, is absolutily the best film spoken in a foreing language film! Each scene, the screemplay, the socre, the cinematography, the actors are perfect! Argentina deserve another Oscar, remember that won the prize in 1985 for The Official Story, a masterpiece. It's used in several educational organizations and scholls for teaching about human rights. Bravo for the Director Juan José Campanella!!

  • the hurt locker should win best picture

  • Yes! Miss Mo'Nique! The diva! Totally gonna win!

  • I don't even think avatar should get Best Director.

  • go sandy!!! go the blind side!!!

  • Fucktard! She sucks!

  • does anybody else think's public enemies should have been nominated?lol

  • @trana500 Absolutely, Public Enemies was brilliant.

  • i knew i couldnt been the only person thinking that lol

  • naw sorry dont mean to be ann asshole ot anything but i throught that movie sucked balls lol i reallly disliked the movie

  • I havn't lost total faith in the oscars yet, there were lots of worthy nominations in there, i'm flabbergasted that Samson and Delilah didn't get an oscar nom though.

  • Congratulations to Pixar's Up for not only getting an Animated Feature Nomination but a Best Picture Nomination as well. Something like this hasen't happened in 19 years after Beauty and the Beast

  • if Avatar wins best picture I will never watch the oscars again, I mean sure it's pretty but you have shit story and shit acting

  • And predictable...

  • Comment removed

  • and it really steals from Dances with Wolves its the same kind fucking plot

at least basterds, hurt locker and even Up has originality towards its plot

  • I am very exited for the oscars (well then again i am every year). But with this whole 10 nominations thing, I can't help but wonder that if they had done this last year, would "The Dark Knight" have fallen into the catagory for best pic. Considering that movies like UP and District 9 squeazed in there. Don't get me wrong, I LOVED all the movies being nominated, but it's just a litte unusual for these types of movies to actually get nominated.

  • Our country is on a respirator and all we can do is scream and yell about this bullshit? WAKE UP AMERICA!!!!

  • Hope "the hurt locker" wins but I doubt it they always pick shit over real good movies

  • IDC if Hurt Locker wins or not (even through i really want it to) just as long as avatar doesn't, the rest are ok

  • yayyy!!!! peru made it till the end! :)

  • Avatar should win!!!!

  • it should win most basic plot and most over the top, bad acting!!!!

  • DISTRICT 9 FTW!!!!

    (sorry for the caps :P)

  • AVATAR ALL THE WAY BABY!!!!

  • Inglourious Basterds and Avatar are my personal favorites. Hope one of them win. I wish I could have seen Precious.

  • Wouldn't it be cool to have District 9 beat Avatar and Hurt Locker? D9 is like a mix of these two movies.

  • distrcit 9 was amazong

but as a Peruvian, I cant wait for the oscars to see who wins for Foreign Language Movie :)

  • Libtard alert!

All the usual suspects, themes and agendas are well represented in year's crop of garbage. I, for one, will NOT be watching their annual circle jerk. :P

  • District 9 should have been nominated in all categories...the movie murders Avatar with a K.O

  • Hell yeah District 9

  • District 9 rocks!

  • go district 9

  • everyone should go see "Precious" Gabriel Sadebeq has a full frontal nudity scene.

  • Best Director: Bigelow

    Best Picture: Avatar

  • wjppse the ifiot on the right? he can't read our pronounce words right he sounds like a deaf person, just let Anne hatthway do it all

  • jeremy renner should win, gave a powerful performance.

  • no zombieland

  • yeeeaaahhh district 9

  • up in the air looks soo boring movie i dont think its gonna win an oscar

  • its a good movie i recommend it, but to seeing in theaters, but i'm agree with you it doesn't win the oscar for best picture

  • @ILoveMangoes2010

its like dances with wolves......INNNN SPACEEEEE!

  • The cheering when The Blind Side was announced... If that wins ANYTHING I'll be pissed off, it's not going to take best picture but if it did I'd quite my Film and Video BA and go and join an anarchist group

  • It will probably win Best Actress, that alone will be horribly painful. But if it wins Picture, I think I'll have a heart attack.

  • Well, I appreciate Jeff Bridges' s career but this role is not his role of the lifetime (because it was in The Big Lebowski I think)...But Colin Firth...Mr Darcy forever and his role in the A Single Man is the role of his lifetime, it's out of question.

  • @QueenMaly and i don't understand why avatar got nominated for best picture

on one hand you got awsome visuals

and on the other you got zero acting and zero story

  • Oh for fuck sakes. Avatar was good, but it does NOT deserve a nomination for best picture.

  • @Balian49

AGREED!!! ty it was good but not close to the other movies this year

  • just my opinion but i think it deserves a nomination, BUT i don't think it deserves a win

  • 1. Best Picture -Avatar

    2. Best Director - Kathryn Bigelow

    3. Best Actor - Jeff Bridges(shouldn't even doubt that at all.)

    4. Best Actress - Sandra Bullock

5.Best Supporting Actor - CHRISTOPHE WALTZ

    6. Best Supporting Actress - Monique

    7. Best Original Screenplay - Inglourious Basterds

    8. Best Adapted Screenplay - Up in the Air

    9. Best Foreign Film - The White Ribbon (Michael Haneke is amazing)

    10. Best Cinematography - The Hurt Locker(Shouldn't even be questioned)

  • best picture hurt locker

    best actor jeremy renner

  • Go hurt locker !!

  • hell yeah

  • I would just like to ask, how come Leonardo DiCaprio never won an Oscar?

I'm bringing him up, because on our TV, they had a weekend with his movies (From Titanic, to Blood Diamond) - and I'm really shocked he never won an oscar for the best role.

I mean, I watch being Sandra Bullock nominated for Best Actress in "The Blind Side", but man, she doesn't even play any difficult role in there - infact, that boy could be nominated for an oscar - but ofcourse he doesn't have a past of famousity.

  • this year he's playing Teddy Roosevelt in the biopic about his life, and trust me, just like with Kate Winslet, he's gonna win because he's been nominated like 5 times for amazing fucking performances and didn't win none of them

  • he sould have won in the Aviator or in Gilbert Grape

  • 1.Best Picture = The Hurt Locker or Precious

2.Best Director= Kathryn Bigelow or Lee Daniels(history making wins for either one)

3.Best Actor= Jeff Brigdes or Morgan Freeman(both long over due)

4.Best Actress=Sandra Bullock(but Gabourey Sidibe or Carey Mulligan could steal, I love Meryl Streep, but getting nominated every year doesn't guarantee a win)

    5.Best Supporting Actor=Stanley Tucci

    6.Best Supporting Acrtess-=Monique

  • Christoph Waltz sir

  • best picture nominated hurt locker actual best picture of the year zombieland

  • Best Actress: The front runners should be Streep and Sidibe. Those two are prominent in this category. Streep is a human chameleon who gave a movie stealer performance and is so long over due it's laughable. And as for Sidibe, she gave a bone crushing performance that is definitely an Oscar worthy.

  • Best Actor: Brigdes is over due. Freeman won (rightfully so) supporting role few years back.

Best Actress: Bullock will win the "I can't believe you can actually carry a decent movie with a decent performance" award! The Academy loves these kind of stories (i.e. Roberts, Berry, Witherspoon). She's a mediocre actress at best. And to emphasize that fact, she's also nominated for a Razzie this year.

  • I mean Freeman is overdue for Best Actor, I know he had won Best Supporting Actor for Million Dollar Baby

  • he aint ganna win, he won 2 oscars, to be overdue is like if you are nominated so many times and never won, Jeff was nominated a lot and never won so he has a huge advantage this year. i personally think Jeremy Renner should get the win though because he was really great and he was never really in a big movie besides 28 weeks later, and i like those perfomances

  • The Hurt Locker should win Best Picture but James Cameron should win Best Director

  • best picture = the hurt locker!

and the blind side shouldnt be in there. it should be star trek

  • Best Picture - The Hurt Locker

    Best Director - Kathryn Bigelow

    Best Actor - Jeff Bridges

Best Actress - Sandra Bullock (but I'd love to see Gabby upset)

Best Supporting Actor - Stanley Tucci (this will be the 'upset' of the night)

    Best Supporting Actress - Monique

  • u have no idea how pissed i will be if staly beats cristoph, i reallllly think that best actress will get the upset of the night

  • May that upset be Meryl Streep.

  • Star Trek should have been nominated for Best Picture

  • it was a GREAT movie believe me, but it was to much of a blockbuster movie.

  • Like,ummm,Avatar?

  • i actually liked star trek better then avatar, they gave avatar best pic because it was also not a remake of a show

  • 2 reasons why it got a nom:

    1) good looking movie

    2) best money maker in film history.

If Star Trek was made slightly better it could've got a nomination. Because Avatar was not a remake of a show isn't the reason they pick it for best picture. Remakes of original sources are typical for best picture.

  • @RandomMindz

the only remake that ever won best picture was the departed.

i really liked Star Trek A lot and i think it was much better then Avatar, but Avatar was made completley by James Cameron. he made the whole world happen. all Star Trek had to do was remember all the characters and stick to the story........wait lol why am i defending Avatar i completley dislike the fact that it was nominated just because of the two reasons u gave me, it had a chliche plot and bad acting

  • Technically...

if it actually counts.... Lord of the Rings for there WAS an incomplete animated film series of it.

  • @RandomMindz

true true, probebly why they didnt give the 2nd lord of the rings the win and gave it to Chicago. but it was also based on a book and the remake of the departed i dont think was. and the Third Lord of the rings was totally epic. one of my favorite movies of all time

  • Honestly I wish there were only 5 Best Pic nominees. It's just like giving the other 5 false assurance such a waste of screen space

  • I really liked Avatar. I'm sure it will win the Oscar

  • Bright Star by Jane Campion biggest snub this year!

  • If Up wins Best Picture I will jizz in my pants. No joke.

  • tht would be cool if it does, Pixar is great

  • @ilovetoparty1 Yes, yes it would be. And yes, yes it is.

  • Wow,the oscars have officially gone to shit.10 nominations for best movie? Fucking ridiculous.Best picture avatar, the blind side, district 9?Buuuuullshiiiiit...

  • they wanted to make it 10 because they used to have 10 nominations back in the 20's and 30' when it first started, but then they lowered it down to 5 and they wanted to make it 10 nominees again so they could have certain films get the recognition they deserve. for example: last year a lot of people were upset cuz the dark knight wasnt nominated... thats because artistically it wasn't as well crafted as the 5 films that were nominated, but if it was 10 nominees it would have got that recognition

  • So basically its just lowering standards and of course good business with producers and companies to have another 5 movies have the "Best Pic Oscar Nom" on the cover.Total Crap.

  • Its just business. As Stephen Colbert pointed out so well at the Grammys, these awards shows are people from the industry congratulating themselves- and as everyone in the film industry has an interest in increasing sales and viewership- adding 5 more films to have a nom listed is great business.

  • No, they just want more people to watch the Oscars because the Academy always piss people off "snubbing" some interesting films.

I mean, I am pretty sure MOST people would've wanted Dark Knight get a Best Picture nomination instead of two of movies nominated were similar to Forrest Gump

  • lol Anne was so professional, love her

I LOVE these nominations especially Maggie Gyllenhaal and Gabourey Sidibe

  • actor- jeff bridges

    actress-sandra bullock

    supporting actor-christoph waltz

    supporting actress- monique

    picture- up in the air

    adapted screenplay-up in the air

    original screenplay-inglourious basterds

  • Go, Miss Mo'nique! The diva! You were awesome!

  • Sandra And Monique The Winners Of The Night For Sure

  • supporting actress: mo nique

    best movie: the hurt locker

    best screen play: up

    best actor: morgan freeman

    best supporting actor: inglorious basterds

  • Avatar is going to sweep the technical categories and get the Best Picture award.

  • @NitekMuscle It might happen, but it shouldn't.

  • INGLORIOUS BASTERDS :D

  • WHAT? Ten films now nominated for Best picture?

wow...thats a new one...all other catagories have just 5 noms...

  • The Academy announced the increase back in July, purportedly in response to the perceived snub against The Dark Knight in 2009.

  • Avatar was good! The effects were amazing!

Mr. Fox shouldn't be nominated it sucks! Princess & the frog is better than Up.

A house that floats with balloons is scientifically impossible.

  • A Princess who transform in frog is scientifically imposible, too.

  • @fropott09 Yes, I know it is but I just think the movie is better for the HUGE message it gives children. Dreams come true if you work at them.

  • @atlandim - A house that floats with balloons although it is scientifically impossible but it's called CREATIVITY. If everyone thinks reality then the world would be so boring.

  • @Darkhotanddeadly I'm sorry but it's just my opinion. It's freedom of speech, and I just think Up could've been better. Like Wall-E was a sweet movie with a Big message.

  • @atlandim - A lot of times people tend to use freedom of speech for many excuses and I think in this case it's an excuse for your lack of appreciation for creativity.

  • @Darkhotanddeadly If I have a lack of appreciation for creatvity then I wouldn't have a Youtube with many subs and a fanfic account with many great reviews. Say all you want, but an opinion cannot be judged by the content of someone's character, you can't judge me when u don't even know me.

  • @atlandim - wow you are very sensitive. Chill.

  • Someone's uptight AND hypocritical! Ooh...

  • 'Scientific plausibility is irrelevant in a fantasy film- an animated one no less.

  • @atlandim The balloon house was a summary of the whole movie's message! It's not supposed to make scientific sense because the movie is about childlike creativity and how its being lost in today's society!

  • @NoiseMaker100 The PATF movie has a message too, and its about children. It's a big and great message. Personally I think that when someone hates of someone's opinion are completely obnoxious. It's just an opinion you don't have to shoot me all for it!

  • @atlandim I think you took what i said the wrong way, i was just correcting you because i didn't think you got the message of the movie, i wasn't dismissing anything. Maybe i shouldn't have added exclamation points...

  • @NoiseMaker100 Maybe...=) I just hate it when someone says a lot of shit to you because of just an opinion, everyone has their own tastes.

  • Ad before video? Fuck youtube.

  • i hope either the hurt locker or inglorious basterds win, good to see avatar being nominated as much as i LOVED it, i don't think it deserves the nomination, its groundbreaking because of the CGI, effects, and the 3D aspect but the lot is just predictable.

  • they just don't make em like they used to. turn on turner classic movies and no, i don't work for them. they just have the best stuff period!

  • best foreign film: the milk of sorrow

  • It 'sucked' its way to over $110 million domestic and critical acclaim.

  • I'm happy for district 9

  • i loved UP, that along with WALL-E got me more into animated features. Avatar in 3-D should get the big one. altho having a pretty standard story, in 3-d it was visually astounding. best aktress isnt too strong this year in relation to other years while monique has to get best supporting award. best supporting aktor shud go to hans landa. legend. for best aktor, ive only seen up in the air so far, but its hard to top that. altho, im really looking forward to see jeff bridges movie.

  • BEST ACTRESS -> MERYL STREEP =D

  • best picture:avatar or the hurt locker

best actor:jeff bridges in crazy heart

best actress:gabourey sidibe in precious or meryl streep in julie and julia

best supporting actor:christoph waltz in inglorious basterds

    best supporting actress:mo'nique in precious

best director:kathy bigalow for the hurt lokcker

    best original screenplay:the hurt locker

    best adapted screenplay:precious

    best animated picture:up
