why the hell would you come on here and dislike a video? no one is forcing you to watch it... plus how is it even possible that people could dislike this?
I went to Iceland this past July. It is simply captivating. I stayed with a host family for two weeks and drove around. I'm more than likely moving there next fall. Iceland makes me feel like a kid again!
@driv1937 Hahaha!!! I too watched Heima, went to Iceland in July, stayed with host famil(ies), drove around the country, fell in love with it, found a job in Reykjavík, and am moving to Iceland as soon as soon as my papers go through! It's a small world, isn't it?
Iceland is beautiful. I spent 18 months there when I was in the USAF; Jan 1975 - Jul 1976, and didn't ever want to leave. I dearly want to go back someday, and take my children with me, even though they are adults.
I watch this when I really need to go home. To my only Home, which I feel in my heart. And Iceland is the nearest place to my visions of Home. I need to go there.
The music that Sigur Ros/Jonsi produce has really made a difference in my life. It's the first music/artist that has ever just clicked in my head and made sense. I seen him live in Milwaukee a few months ago and it was the best performance I have EVER seen in my life. I don't think much else could ever top it...
i have goosebumps every time i watch the beginning because this movie is so amazing. i have seen it for like 20 times already, absolutely love it. and the music is amazing.
this is by far the most beautiful movie/documentary ever made.
Saw this two years ago (2008) on Christmas day on the Sundance channel in the U.S. Still drawn to it on a regular basis. Deep, ehtereal, beautiful stuff.
@GracellaLaMagica Actually the reason for the diverse crowd is that the band were playing in very small towns and communities all over Iceland for Heima, and most of these inhabitants were curious to see something they haven't seen before. Whole towns came to see Sigur Ros! Some of whom who have never heard or seen of them before.
It took me a couple times to really feel their music in my soul. It is amazing how over the past 5 years I have used their music to help me through the hard times. Truly more than just music, it is a spiritual art.
@trafficjam10 ...iceland is a masterpiece by accident. we went a year ago after watching this documentary. there are no words to describe how perfect this place is- breathtaking around every corner. majestic landscapes. we honestly cannot wait to go back. you should go!!! (PS check out our travel doc by searching "Adventures in Iceland" - we're the first one that comes up) :)
You should, it is desolate yet beautiful. I can totally see where this music comes from. Icelandic people are really nice too. I'm so glad I went there. It's a bit expensive but worth it :)
@CamerOneiric Not really, but I recall someone mentioning they are very strict on immigration. Looks likely they will join the EU though, so if that happens anyone that is a citizen of another EU state will be entitled to live there. I kinda hope they don't for there own sake though. Once the EU gets hold of their fisheries it will damage a major part of their battered (pardon the pun) economy.

@joheedandcambria I seriously couldn't agree with you more... everything they do represents beauty and love. Even Jonsi as a solo artist, or the Riceboy Sleeps album, they really do go through every emotion via music and I think it's pure genius.
