Actually if Fedor signed the deal was he had to sign eight fights and after that they could resign him at their own will for however long they wanted to at the same pay and if he where to lose one fight he could be kicked out immediately. And it restricted him from many other events such as Sambo competitions which is a national sport and is less risky to get injured in than a normal training session. It was basically a slave contract. Plus the UFC HW division is a joke.
The reason Fedor wouldn't sign was because the UFC wanted to put a clause in Fedor's contract which stated that if Fedor became the champion, his contracted would be extended indefinitely until he lost. I'm not sure you knew this, but for years everyone has thought that Barnett would be Fedor's toughest matchup. He's got decent standup, very good wrestling, and excellent submissions...plus he's a big guy. Barnett has consistently been ranked in the top 10 (specifically top 5), and has a win over Nog as well. It's a fight the fans have been wanting to see for years, and Barnett is arguably higher ranked than Mir, Lesnar, Gonzaga, Kongo, Carwin, and Cain at the moment.

Actually if Fedor signed the deal was he had to sign eight fights and after that they could resign him at their own will for however long they wanted to at the same pay and if he where to lose one fight he could be kicked out immediately. And it restricted him from many other events such as Sambo competitions which is a national sport and is less risky to get injured in than a normal training session. It was basically a slave contract. Plus the UFC HW division is a joke.

The reason Fedor wouldn't sign was because the UFC wanted to put a clause in Fedor's contract which stated that if Fedor became the champion, his contracted would be extended indefinitely until he lost. So his management basically called their bluff, and the ufc was left with egg on their faces. Now Dana White has to call them crazy Russians to risk not looking like an idiot.

fedor will never sign with the ufc. UFC's contract bans emelianenko from making money without ufc's permission ( japanese,russian ,korean tv commercials etc..) it also bans him from participating in sambo tournaments and of course bans him from fighting outside of the ufc (in japan)..they want a 100% exclusive contract. ufc's contract also stipulates that you can't leave as long as you keep winning..(which is ridiculous) & yet they can give you a kick in the butt whenever they get tired of ya.

Today Fedor has the freedom to fight in japan , korea , america , russia...he can also participate in sambo tournaments , he can fight in different orgs...All these things would be impossible under a ufc contract since they only care about 100% exclusitivy.

Nop...here's what's gonna happen (possibly) in the next few months...Semmy Schilt (current multiple K1 champ) could sign with the ufc...and Alistair Overeem may also follow that road...Fedor can still fight barnett at affliction...then he can go to japan and also fight Kharitonov (kharitonov defeated overeem in their rematch)...Schilt was already defeated by fedor in mma a few years ago..

I'm not sure you knew this, but for years everyone has thought that Barnett would be Fedor's toughest matchup. He's got decent standup, very good wrestling, and excellent submissions...plus he's a big guy. Barnett has consistently been ranked in the top 10 (specifically top 5), and has a win over Nog as well. It's a fight the fans have been wanting to see for years, and Barnett is arguably higher ranked than Mir, Lesnar, Gonzaga, Kongo, Carwin, and Cain at the moment.

Barnett has had bad luck against Cro Cop. He was winning one fight before suffering an accidental shoulder injury, causing them to stop the fight. In the next fight it was the Pride GP Finals after he just won a war over Nog. Cro Cop was at his peak during the Grand Prix, and he was demolishing everyone. Barnett ended up getting poked in the eye just as he was going for a leg lock against Mirko. Fedor's punch wasn't lucky? He threw it when Andrei's arm dropped & blocked the knee with the left.

Fedor had a perfect timing on that punch. Arlovski was trying to pull the same flying knee he did against Rothwell...it worked against him yes...But that type of shit doesn't work against a guy who's undefeated since 2001...it's very easy to call it a "lucky punch"..yes fedor was lucky against randleman,fujita,crocop,hunt too..maybe he should play the lottery right ? afterall , he's been doing this since 2001 right ? Barnett is gonna be an awesome challenge.

Fedor will be the overwhelming favorite going into any fight (in or out of the UFC). Barnett is a top 5 HW, and had only dropped in rank because of inactivity after the folding of PRIDE.
Did you watch the punch Fedor threw at Arlovski in slow motion? Fedor sees Arlovski rush in with his guard down, so he commits to an overhand right and has his left arm in position to block a knee or kick to the head/face.

No , it's not a question of "bad luck" Barnett got owned by a prime Crocop. BIG DIFFERENCE. there was a time when Filipovic was ranked # 2 spot in the HW division. Today ? He's a shadow of his former self. However Barnett (unlike mirko) isn't shot...it's easy to see & to understand why fedor never had a scratch on his face after his fight vs arlovski...just compare the speed and power of crocop in his fight back in 2005...day and night. Thing is Afflictions isn't going anywhere for at least few more shows, than we can see what happens. Affliction is getting a lot of positive buz, fans like it, sure they are making mistake, but who doesn't when they start biz? dana needs to realize that MMA does not belong to him.
