@FloridaVilla4Bed : Yes, Graz definitely is gorgeous and it`s a great place to visit. Most people have never heard of it, but it has a gorgeous old town centre and a perfect view from the Schlossberg mountain.
@SuperLillelill: Graz is a beautiful town. I was born close to Graz and every time I come to visit from Canada, I make a side trip to Graz. I also love the Schlossberg, what a great view over the whole city!
@travelandtransitions I think one of the most fantastic nights ever was the new years at the Schlossberg with the view of the city and the fireworks. It was absolutely amazing and something i will never forget. I have quite a large family in Graz and Wien and try to visit as often as possible :)
@SuperLillelill: Wow, that must have been absolutely amazing. When I was still living in Austria many many years ago, I spent New Years on the Schöckl Mountain (the local mountain close to Graz) and that also was a phenomenal experience. Great to hear from you and warm greetings and Happy New Year to Norway!
I grew up near Graz and went to university there. I tried to get back to Austria at least once a year. Maybe one day I will make it in August to see the LaStrada festival. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yes, Graz is like a magnet!
Graz is making progress in all areas today. 400 years ago for about 12,000 residents, to Vienna today, the largest state capital of Austria.
Even the "Tiroler Napoleon Teimer" (Google!) moved there 200 years ago here.
