lol dude im an asshole my apologies, we all make mistakes, but just remember, sometimes its better to take the time to fix timing mistakes rather than leave them alone cause yur lazy.
Oh and Limiters and Compressors can be your best friend (I know EWQL is supposedly out of the box, but every out of the box orchestra needs some adjustments to make that out of the box more like out of the scoring hall"
But to wrap it up, I Feel like the brass was overshown by the strings, this piece is slightly more about the brass than the strings (though they do play a very important role) but theres a reason why he tripped the size of his brass section and not his string section. Reverb would have also helped with that. Your ambience is pretty solid though i hear a few Echos that aren't there that should be. but like i said reverb can go a long way when it comes to adding the feeling of space. But Great Job
I do absolutely love how accurately you followed the strings (within reason) and you even paid ear to the little details most would just not hear, however the run down the scale (the i guess what would be considered the climax) in the middle is timed incorrectly thats why we have Quantize plus theres a reason why hanz added an electric guitar doing a gliss and the viola section should be using portamento in that part along with the Cellos.
So im gonna review this like an asshole cause thats what we music majors do and thats how it really is in the real music world (trust me cause iv'e been slashed down by plenty professeurs and maestros, cause thats the only way to improve) Anyways first off Mr. Zimmer is a man of MANY brass, so I would double up the brass section and have them play the same notes but one octave lower/higher and change the panning only slightly it to add some spacial location/distance from the other brass.
jesus christ this sounds almost identical to the real thing! from my ears the only thing that needed changing was perhaps the guitar tone. still an amazing job, you should be incredibly proud.
these programs are nothing but tools.these remakes are stupid. just make your own music.it's like repainting a famous painting just to demonstrate a new type of paint.
@avaunt1 It's anything but stupid. You DO realize the level of comprehension it takes to remake these songs in such detail without any use of samples from the original song. Having an ear for music is like having an eye for art. A Picasso remake is simply just a remake, sure. But I guarantee it would still get praise for the talent it took to re-create it for the simply reason that not everyone could do that.
hey i was just curious when you compose you use the score notation or the bar one ,im new to this program and im trying to understand how it works pls someone who knows the program help me with some message tips.
Fantastic job, a tip when it comes to the brass section with EWQL if you double up the trombones and make them play on two seperate octaves you hear them MUCH clearly.
1 dude has no idea how much time and effort this takes...blah blah...is not WINNING....needs more cowbell too....LOL...NOT....good stuff. Hey is Symphobia 2 in this as well... I just got it.
@papcyrill Though I am an FL User who is stuck in his ways, Cubase is probably the better choice. But! Don't think that just because you have Cubase your music will be better than that created on FL Studio or any other DAW. To make good music, you will need to master the DAW and utilise it to the max, acquire good external VST's and never stop learning. My 2 cents.
@papcyrill AH If difficulty is the problem, then stick with FL. Cubase is definitely more difficult than FL, because it contains more elements than FL Studio.
There are many good tutorialists online, NFXbeats is the best hip hop tutorialist, he will show you all the ins and outs of the software, the rest... learn by yourself, it's best that way.
i'll make one observation...on 1:40 the bass harmony in that 4 chords progession is C and after Eb instead of B.....just that...excellent job by the way!!!
@TheLeo3pride i dont think you can get a warning if its something original..you took the dream is collapsing and made it your own so its not against any copyright claims.
@McDrummerSLR yes these are samples except bass and pad (channels 2, 3 and 5). And samples come from EWQLSO (East West Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra), and drums from Stormdrum.
It doesn't matter if Hans uses Cubase cause with those samples you can achieve same effect in any music production software like fl studio
That is just so awesome, bravo! You seem to have all of the most popular softwares on the market, so I was wondering if you knew what Piano preset H.Zimmer is often using, like on "The Holiday" soundtrack which is the same as "Time" if you listen closely at the end of the track apart from the reverb effect. I know J.N. Howard likes to use it a lot such as King Kong or even Jablonsky using it all the time on his Desperate Housewives score... I'm dying to know. Thanks for this!
@peterSclarke Thanks! You know it's actually funny 'cause i found exactly what I'd been looking for everywhere, it's called the Malmsjö Grand Piano from Art Vista, you should check it out, awesome sound :)
omg, I was just listening to the Hans Zimmer actuall version of the song, and then I played this one, and I honestly forgot that this was the remake. Amazing job man.
Excellent! Sounds amazingly close to the original, besides some wrong notes when the staccato strings come in at 0:40. (To be more exact, they're not wrong, but they're up too high, and you're missing the straight highest violin notes.) Also, at 1:40, the brass gets slightly quieter and drops the top note in each chord. Otherwise, it's incredibly close, and that takes a ton of skill to replicate a song so well. 4.5/5!
Currently I have no midi hardware. Can I create tunes still with this like in reason or FL?
