  • i dont know so many artist who spoke such truth in their songs

  • British speak horrible spanish ,even koreans, japanese and chinese can speak better spanish ,anyway stummer deserve some credits because most british don't speak a 2nd language(like americans too)

  • The ramones were right wingers???

  • Please remember Victor Jara....His hands were gentle his hands were strong

  • Please remember Victor Jago.....His hands were gentle his hands were strong

  • In the end The Clash did won their battle, they are still leading a revolution trough young listeners like me decades after they split up! This band did change my life in many significant ways. Viva Joe! Viva The Clash!

  • The 3000 people disappeared during the dictatorship shall never be forgotten.

    From Chile.

    Peace.

  • The 3000 people disappeared during the dictatorship shall never be forgotten.

    From Chile.

    Peace.

  • The 3000 people disappeared during the dictatorship shall never be forgotten.

    From Chile.

    Peace.

  • Chile loves The Clash <3

  • I'm from Brazil and we had a rough, Washington-backed dictatorship as well... We're doing fine with people like our dear president Lula, but some scars will remain forever.

  • @64jey "USSR HAD NO FREEDOM!!!",.U say!! I know they never had the FREEDOM 2B homeless, like millions of Americans & Canadians. U would not catch them living like "Rats" in the streets, trying to find a grate, with warm air, so as not to freeze to death. They didn't use the freedom to kill one another, for their clothing.

They lost over 25,000,000, so U could join the War after it was over, that is WW1, also.

U guys were first in on Iraq, like a bully! But the "bully" is taking it on the chin!

  • mcdonalds hamburgers are washington bullets in disguise ,there aimed at your kids and its time you did something about it. i say boycott big business and deny power to the capitalists!!!!

  • September 11, 1973. Never forget.

  • I used to think that the lyrics were:"please remember victims horror". Conceptually I was not far away.

  • My band is named 'London Bullet' after this song

    Foda!

  • Love the red and black anarchy flags,

    thank you falvaroth !!!!!!

  • i like this song cause it shows that the left side can bring bad things too

  • Probably my favorite Clash song... for those of you saying it was a "pro-Communist" song listen again... they slam the USSR and China as being the same as the US in the last verse. It's really an anti-imperialist, pro- Democratic Socialism song if anything.

  • what happened to the team?

  • The CLASH had a leftist agenda but if you listen carefully they do play on both sides. For example, Rock the Casbah is against Muslim extremist. They were way ahead of their time.

  • I agree with Parker 9977, this is one of the greatest songs ever written!

64jey, you are so wrong -- this song is not about communism, it is about the way that the United States tries to impose their ideals on countries around the world by force. Hence the name, "Washington Bullets."

  • For me!! this is one of the greatest song ever written!!!!!and Clash one of the best bands of ALL TIME!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I do love clash, but this song is to comunist...I hate comunism!

  • N' if you can find a Afghan rebel

    That the Moscow bullets missed

Ask him what he thinks of voting Communist...

...Ask the Dalai Lama in the hills of Tibet,

How many monks did the Chinese get?

  • @64jey then fuck you capitalist pig

  • @64jey ..So, you hate Communism!! Did you ever live it? You probably hate it because that is exactly what you have been PROGRAMMED to do.

Yes I know, you are going to deny it. The vast majority who have been programmed, by the REAL EVIL of the world, of course don't know it! U R so busy HATING, there is not much time for anything else. 007, Rockey, Red Dawn, etc. (Bullshit) from Hollywood, has done it's job!

The USSR had no homeless, no unemployment, no welfare, HAD, COMPLETE FREE HEALTH CARE +

  • @hanksnow2 stop drinking please!!!!! USSR HAD NO FREEDOM!!! You don't understand...you can't understand....sorry....

  • @64jey I just wrote, a moment ago, when I thought U R American, U think like one. That is, 1 of the dumb 1's, not the many who know, who is Evil & who is not.

Stopping your (&many others), "Hate" for the Russian People & Communism, is like trying to console me, as a child, who was afraid of the dark & the "Boogie Man"!!

No one could convince me there was no reason to be afraid.

Like I said YR so full of "Shit", Hollywood spewed all over the world, UR not responsible! Yah, tot U was American!

  • @hanksnow2 ..wake up little baby....the fairy story is over......and, as I told you, you can't understand....you're american.....wake up, is never too late little baby!!

  • @hanksnow2 I'm Chilean. I'm Democratic Socialist (a true one, not like the sold out Socialist Party). I'm son of fighters for democracy against the fascist Pinochet's dictatorship. But come on, USSR HAD NO FREEDOM. When the people in Praga Spring fought for their freedom under the flag of the then-communist leader Alexander Dubcek the Breshnev's imperialist red bear fucked up Czechoslovakia in a bloody way. That's not self-determination of the people, neither freedom nor equality of nations.

  • @parrasalazar Hi, glad 2 C UR Socialist & a true 1. U may not know it but, the wheels of the "Evil Empire", are working against U every second of every day. & that is not Russia or Chine, N/Korea, Iran or Cuba, it's the USA!

kissinger & Nixon gave U Pinochet!

I C you're only 19 & it makes me wonder, who wrote your school books. The US has 700+ military basses in the world, & they wish to inform those countries, that they R there to help U. If they R successful, U believe them @ your demise.

  • @parrasalazar & how many former Soviet territory is now or, are trying to become USA (scumbag) Pinochet styled, Puppet Regimes.

@ your age, even though you R from Chile, U don't know just how evil the USA is.

It is them along with their boss, Israel, who control the world, & look at what kind of shape it's in.

They have enslaved Central & South America (& others), for well over a hundred years.

Those people are starving, when living in the garden of Eden, food a plenty, BUT,.. 4 USA & friends

  • @hanksnow2 Please, dont misunderstand me. I hate USA goverment, I hate zionism, I hate neo-liberalism, etc. But we can't be blind, USSR was bad too. I mean, Lennin's USSR was fine, but Breshnev's and Stalin Soviet Nation was simply awful. Breshnev led the troops for the invasion of afghanistan, murdered many democratic socialist from Czechoslovakia, refused to send weapons for the defense of Unidad Popular goverment.Stalin stole resources from other countries, killed the peasant class, etc.

  • @parrasalazar Finally...I'm not saying that USA is the land of freedom and the saviors of the world, I'm just saying that the Soviet Union became exactly the thing they refused, a great red empire -the "other" empire. I'm not saying nothing new, is exactly what the lyrics of this song said many decades ago. We must win against the capitalism, but there are other ways (the praga spring tried other, my country tried other and Venezuela, Bolivia and Ecuador are trying the same one).

  • @hanksnow2

The BIGGEST difference between the U.S. and the U.S.S.R. was....

that the US could produce more colour TVs ;D

  • i was born 2 decades after their influence, but i just teared up listening to this

  • what a message

Curioso. :)

  • Strange? Huh. Reagan mined the harbors, blew up the food silos, killed teachers and doctors, financed the contras with money from Iran and allowing the smuggling of crack into the US.

And what did democracy bring: Thousands of young prostitutes, kids sniffing glue in plain daylight, half of all kids without an education, poor people dying of a broken appendix, thousands of children forever damaged by hunger.

Pottery Barn ruples apparently dont apply to the gringos.

  • Strange? Only your historical distortion. In fact, the Sandinistas won the first honest elections in Nicaragua's history, in 1984.

It took six more years of U.S.-financed and -directed terrorism for the Nicaraguan people (reluctantly, I think) agree to let Uncle Sam have his way, if only he would stop torturing them.

  • @emwatcher

the song was written around 1980... before that all happened.

  • a bit unsyncd but its kool

  • Is the Henry 'Killer' Kissinger @ 17 seconds?

    Nice video!

  • "Please remember Victor Jara", por favor recuerde a Victor Jara. (documental "el derecho de vivir en paz".)

  • this is music, where the fuck did it go?

  • It died with coming of techno & rap - and the breakup of great bands like The Clash sadly....

  • no it died when the corporate world took it over

  • capitalism....

    capitalizes on everything.

whether it be music or bullets. coffins and guitars. books and movies.

    and....destroys culture.

  • me encante este cancion!!!

  • Weather you are right or left wing,or if they were rigt or wrong, one must agree that what the Nicaraguan people did was an incredible feat and example of what a nation acting as one can overcome. These people fought with .22 caliber hand guns and rocks. Then again, they ousted filibusterer Gen. William Walker with nearly their bear hands. I wonder if this country will ever see the sunshine.

  • If anyone - any people - on earth really deserves to be happy, it is the nicas. I have an enormous respect for the people of that country: They never deserved becoming a straw man for amerikkan macho attitudes.

They didnt deserve to have their ports mined, their teachers and doctors shot, their young people suffering in the mountains - just so that the elite could import campbells tomato soup again.

But - in spite of all the hardships - it was an amazing time.

  • Songs like this by the likes of The Clash make you belive that there still is hope for humanity... Joe Strummer one of the greatest RIP

  • As my name here says, I was - actually still am - a sandinista. This song helped cheer me up when things were at their hardest. It helped me remember, that millions of people outside the country were on our side.

  • horrors**

  • This and Death or Glory are true Clash Classics

  • The Clash and Frank Zappa are the 2 who educated me about corrupt government at a young age...

    Love this album

    Brilliant video!! 5 stars

  • yeah, more people should see it

  • oh yeah it's one of my favorite clash's songs...love it

  • i learned bout this stuff this year in history and its kinda cool to see a song about it by the greatest band in the world

  • you are very lucky to actually be learning about that in a history class. usually teachers and text books tend to stray away from government curruption and the horroes brought on by such curruption.

  • That sounds like one hell of a history teacher...

I LOOOVE history, but too many teachers have forgotten, how exciting the subject can be and how much it can help you understand our world.

  • Well I am from Nicaragua and was born in 79 when the Sandinista government took over. My mother and I had to flee the country because of political persecusion in 88. I tell you life in that country was tough. Don't know how it is now that Ortega is back in power though.

  • GRANDE VICTOR JARA

  • this is one of the best songs by the greatest band ever

  • It is as simple as you say ;)

  • This is an amazing vid.

Im from Argentina, and I have to say that this song thrills me a lot. We didn't have a revolution like in Nicaragua... But we had a fucking and brutal dictatorship where a lot of people died without a real reason in the seventy, later the fucking wad with Malvinas/Falklands Islands... How many lifes has been smashed in South America, and all over the world in this years?

  • I just love this guys, a lot (: Also I love this "¿Qué?" xD It sounds so natural...

    Cheers, brothers.

  • I have a color variation of the poster seen at (2:51) in my room and have had it for years now. It's kind of messed up to so I've been looking for a copy to replace it with. Thanks to the video I can see it's part of the Guns of Brixton promotional posters because it wasn't labeled so, instead it said Clash City Rockers. Thx again.

  • Sweet video, good pics and thanks for the lyrics, great song

  • Dude...That was so great!!! Totally convey's what this song is about! RIP Joe Strummer. I met him once after a Mescalero's show and he was such a lovely guy. I was so nervous until we started talking. You would never even know that he was famous from talking to him. He was so fucking humble and cool. A lot of really good people Do die young. RIP John Mellor.
