Not exactly, the final boss is Ex Death, Gilgamesh was only his lieutenant (you must fight him 3-4 times in the game, in the end he helps you to reach the last boss)

Actually, this is the exact same gilgamesh from FFV, because if you look closely at :17, he'll say something like this:

"Huh...Was it you......Ba-?"

The Ba- part is a reference to bartz in FFV.

Also, after attacking seifer, he said this:

"Where is the dimensional interval?"

This is also a reference to the Interdimensional rift in FFV.

Gilgamesh originally had his wolf Enkidu in FFV.

You face them both when you try to infiltrate Castle Exdeath on the warships.

Enkidu is (in legends and myths) Gilgamesh's companion that goes with him on all his journeys. His form tends to change in pop culture i suppose..

In an Early FF sprite game, Gil is a secret sudden boss, in the Battle Enkidu appears and said he had trouble getting to Gil, then they battle alongside each other, you kill Enkidu and Gil says "You take care of the rest my faithful follower!" he looks behind and sees that Enkidu is gone and begins bambling about that Followers should not abondon the Hero, then Gil leaps away from the Battle.

That's where Enkidu is from, Way before Yojimbo from FFX :D

You know what is even more funnier. The first time I fought Ultimecia in this game, Gilgamesh appeared and delivered the final blow with the Masamune lol. Ever since he done that, he has been my favorite Guardian Force in FF8.

Get Odin before that event..

If you get Odin after that event , you won't get Gilgamesh.

Try not to say something you do not know about. You can obtain Odin anytime after you have the Balamb Garden mobile. If you don't want him to be replaced by Gilgamesh, then get Odin in disc 4 after you find the Ragnarok.

disk 4 begins just before the fight with adelyou are in lunatic pandora during disk 4 you cant exit lunatic pandora so how do u get odin? you cant get odin in lunatic pandora i tryed so i know

Earlier you said that you can't get Odin after this event. WRONG! Read what I typed in my first repond. If that doesn't help then please take your time and go read a FAQ, you can still get Odin on disc 4 if you haven't.

well, u can get it in compressed time, if u get the rangorak back and whatnot. it's a complex task, and is better done beforehand, but it still can be done
