I understand the sentiment that Vivaldi had a certain structure in mind in the seasons, but writing this piece off because it's so radially different is foolishness. A wise teacher once told me not to listen to music with an expectation in mind, but rather listen to it for was it is. Do not judge a piece because of it's genre or interpretation or any other single element, but let it stand by itself. To that end, it's a very fun piece and if nothing else, gives exposure to the 1700 and 1800's.

@TheLadySakai I disagree.Reedition is not needed to bring classical music to younger audience.Furthermore, young people would probably prefer the original song, heard as it was supposed to be heard, as the author meant.You have a very limited view of classical music if you think only stuffy old men and women enjoy it in the original way. I think reedition is a way to spread our point of view about something,but not as an adaptation to these days,just as a different way to enjoy it.
