  • It's normal if the inside is still pasty right? xD I mean... I know it's not bread, so Lima beans probably shouldn't come out like bread... but just wondering.

  • I've just made my first batch....I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! soft sweet...thanks a lot for sharing a simple way to cook korean food!!!!

  • @yarima13 wow, I'm impressed! You must be generally good at cooking because manju making is a little bit challenging for a beginner cook.

  • @Maangchi question? how long and how you keep manju after baking it??? it like to put them on my work week bento box..

  • @yarima13 It will be ok in the fridge for a couple of days. Put it in a plastic bag and keep it in the fridge. Or Keep it in the freezer, up to 1 month then you can eat it anytime you want.

  • me and my sister made this. we got confused with the lima beans and the dough. some of them has the lima beans inside. BUT THEY TURNED OUT GREAT:)

  • KAWAII!!

  • I hate beans of all sorts...when u add sugar to the beans will it get rid of the taste of Lima beans? Lol

  • You make it look so damn easy!!!!!

  • Invisible flame! I know exactly what you mean :D

  • Please adopt me? :).

  • I made this the other day! it was a bit sweet for my taste, but I still LOOOOOOVE it! can I use less sugar next time I make it? or will the Lima bean paste turn out differently? I'm gonna make it soon again. ^_^

  • @mattysong yes, the amount of sugar depends on your taste. yummy!

  • Maangchi, I made this treat this afternoon. It was SO easy. It taste sort of similar to the Filipino "hopia" pastry (I am Filipino). Thank you! You are my favorite!

  • @sanzoparty1066 hopia! I should remember it. I'm glad to hear that your manju turned out good!

  • yei aeri send me here to know how they make the bean paste , bur i ended learning something more than just how to make the bean paste and i learne too ho to make a delicious manju crust 4 it :D

  • I love your videos. I love this video soo much too, I watch this video the most! <3

  • Though they tasted great!^^

  • @trulltott Lower the temperature of your oven then.

  • Oh no, they all burst! What did we do wrong?

  • @YurieAplus Lamakong. Kong means bean.

  • How do u say lamabeans in korean?

  • These look great! will be making these pretty soon!!

  • I am going to try making this 'cause I've always like the white bean filling in manju. However, I wondered if you had a soft bun recipe instead of this thin skin one? I'd like to learn how to make those? They are either baked or steamed. Do you have a suggestion?

  • @Maangchi yummy this looks sooo good! i wanted to make this for my brothers birthday tomorrow but i didnt hve time to buy the lima beans. if im not able to soak them in time would i be able to use canned lima beans since they are already soft? if so do i still hve to boil them? Thankyou :)

  • Thank you for making these. My mom used to make them but she passed away 6 years ago and I've missed her and her cooking. I will have to try to make them so I can carry on the tradition.

  • @cathy3305 touching story! When you make this, you will think about your mom. Good luck!

  • Thank you for all of your videos. You have a way of making even complicated things seem easy to do! Gives one courage to try and make them, too! I have to practice more, so that I can wrap my manju as well as you! ^_^

  • @zipurlip2 Thanks a lot. Let me know the result if you make this. Cheers! : )

  • @Maangchi please keep your fingers crossed for I will be trying this out on either Mon. or Tuesday! BTW, I'm really thrilled that you've answered me! My dtr has been to Korea and said the food there is fabulous. She wants me to learn to make 'kimchee rice' ... is that one of your video recipes, too? I shall go hunt that down right now! Thanks, again! :D

  • is the lima bean method good for making red bean paste too?

  • @TensaiHimeSama Yes, some of my readers have already made manju with red beans.

  • needs more jack dagnals

  • i love these videos

  • You know how you made the manju really big? Instead of making it into 8 pieces, can you make it into smaller pieces, like 16 small pieces? If so, does the temperature of the oven and the time change?

    Thank you Maangchi! (=

  • the music makes me want to play sims

  • Hello! just stumble on your video and i am glad i did. Your video are great and the food looks lovely! i cant wait for new videos!

  • @ZylnorWrath Welcome to my channel!

  • I like it when the cooks have accents, like Korean cooks having Korean accents and French cooks have French accents...makes the food seem more authentic from a superficial point of view XD

  • I love the photo at the end when it says "subscribe" :-))

  • Maangchi is better off being a youtube star anyway. I watch far more cooking on youtube than any television network. T'shirt says "sandy toes, salty." ? Whats salty? lol.

By the way this recipe looks great, thanks!

  • If I use red beans does the recipe change in any way. (do I have to do extra steps because I'm using red beans instead of lima beans)

  • Maangchi, I love you. I have never missed your video :) Korean food is the best!!!!!!!!

  • OH MAANGCHI, this looks plain delicious, sometimes I wish I could reach out and take some of your delicious food, it makes my mouth water everytime.

Just let me suggest something, whenever you crack an egg, do it in a different bowl, not in the one where the batter is... Just in case the egg is rotten or something similar, so it won't ruin your other ingredients ♥

  • i love u

  • That looks awesome! I've never had the lima bean filling before, only red beans. I loved your invisible flame :)

  • Hi Maangchi! would the pastries still come out nicely if i steamed them instead of baking?
