  • Beautifully done tribute to an amazing, and well loved series. Thanks for your hard work and I hope to see more like it!

  • @DirkCourage21 Thank you very much. My apologies for the late response, but time just flies for me these days. If there was more of it right now, I could do more of these, but I generally wait for a moment of inspiration. And, with YouTube being SO picky about the music chosen for vids, some of my ideas I know would be musically silenced. A shame IMO.

  • WOw... Nice to see some people have some good taste in anime still. Iczer One still stands head and shoulders above practically everything out there. The ending still gets me teary every time... Great tribute video, love.

  • If you haven't had gotten your hands on Super Robot Taisen L for the NDS, you should, as it features Iczer-1 and Iczer-3's debut in the franchise.

  • Almost like Inastella 5555

  • i thought megazone 23 was the first OAV or OVA?

  • Thanks very much for the comment

dsdffdsfdsdsffsd. I have researched your statement and it appears that my original source of information is incorrect and that in fact, your comment is accurate. MZ23 was released about seven months prior to Iczer, so will update my synopsis accordingly. Doomo arigato for pointing out that discrepancy. I thoroughly enjoyed MZ23 as well back in the day and it deserves props!

  • @Jackenator1 it's funny to see comments i posted and can't remember posting. i was just searching for iczer music and stumbled onto our little conversation...

  • Actually, guys, the very first OAV was a work called Dallos, eventually brought to the U.S. as Moon Station Dallos as a single (heavily edited) videotape in the mid-80s. Check it out some time.

Megazone 23 was the first one that was popular enough that the OAV marketing format was profitable to continue with other works, so between that and Harmony Gold's attempts to assimilate it (horribly) into the Robotech franchise as Robotech: The Movie, it's gotten better known in the U.S.

  • wow this is great! one of the best old animes i've heard of and it deserves more than 5 stars ^ ^

  • Hey darkvampiress1, thanks very much for taking the time to comment and for the rating! Very much appreciated. :)

  • With all the crappy excuses of anime we have seen over the recent years, it is a breath of fresh air of coming back to this animation technique. But also sad as well, as though anime, at least good anime, is not only becoming a lost art, but endangered.

  • Well said Potrimpo and I appreciate your taking the time to post a comment. Thank you very much.

  • Well said.

Endangered because there are people that actually think it is the other way round, and that old anime is bad !

I argued with some youngsters that all modern anime has dull-grey skin and androgyne-bodied girls, and none agreed.

But original anime is a signed and sealed treasure-trove, it shoud be obvious that is is much better. And modern producers (if not the kids) should learn from it.

  • The art and animation in this were amazing, one fine example of quality 80s style that has never been exceeded.

Toshiki Hirano designed the beautiful girls in Dangaioh, Megazone 23 and Mako Sexy Symphony as well.

  • Phavonic, thanks very much for taking the time to comment, very appreciated and I agree completely. :)

  • not very sure, but it was 1992 0r 1993, when I get involde in Anime, Iczer one, was of the first anime I saw,

Great video and perfect music,, over 5 stars

  • A sincere doomo arigato gozaimasu JLSTHERAT! Very happy that you enjoyed the AMV and took the time to comment.

  • your'e very welcome, and hope to see more great AMV.

  • ACT-3 was the best. I felt very sorry for ICZER-2.

  • Thanks for commenting, it is appreciated. Please check out the "Anime Lady Evil" AMV to see Iczer-2 get a little RE-spect.

  • I know what you mean bub. She had all the potential as ICZER-1 of being more than she is, but chose to have her entire existence around killing ICZER-1. And then what? What would be the point afterwards of existing if only killing?

  • Thanks for commenting burkehoo. Did you watch the English dub of it or in the original Japanese or both? If both, which did you prefer? Did you watch it for the first time only recently? It's considered "Old School" now so your opinion on how it compares to more current titles would be of interest to me.

  • Seems burkehoo never responded =P

I'll comment in her/his place though!

I'm an old skool anime fan because I think the older works have a better quality to them in both art and story. But then again I've been an anime fan for about 14 years now so that's probably the only reason why. Most people that are fans nowadays only know about the newer watered down stuff.

  • Thanks very much for the response and perspective ChibiKeba. Very much appreciated.

  • Krash, thank you very much for taking the time to comment. I am humbled. I am also curious to know if you were already familiar with the story of Iczer-1 prior to coming across my little tribute? Thanks again!

  • Jackenator1! your taste and magic and creation here has touched me! oh how i love this anime! back in the days it was just too hard to not watch! all females! and all hot too! and had the hots for one another?! in 1985 that was still cutting edge social stuff for broadcasting, and HOT TOO! EXCELLENT MUSIC YOU GOT! Thanks for this! and please don't say to me "OH... IT WAS NOTHING AT ALL!" hahahahahahaaa just kidding! thanks!

  • WOW! Hey thanks so very much for the kind words of praise sbmrunning, I am humbled and flattered. Iczer-1 certainly was cutting edge back in the day and because of that, and its timeless story line themes, holds up quite well to this day IMO. It really is quite underrated, but many truly inspired works are and I think I like it that way. Making an AMV of any kind certainly isn't "nothing at all", it takes thought, time and focus. Sore ja! :)

  • Ya, kinisentoite~

  • RIGHTEOUS vid there SPEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED!!

    XD

  • Arigato gozaimasu Sesutuse-san!!

  • could you post the O.A.V. here on youtube? If not. Then how about Veoh?

  • SHIZ4NAT has already posted all three acts of this OVA. Search for Iczer One or all of the videos from SHIZ4NAT.

  • Hey Jackenator1, great tribute!!

SHIZ4NAT here, sadly my old account got suspended but I'm now uploading all three OAVs. Hope you'll check them out.

  • Thanks very much ShizuruKruger! I wondered what happened to all the OAV's you posted as when I mentioned that you had uploaded them already, they seemed to "magically" disappear (like Iczer-1 herself). Nice to have you and the OAV's back! You may appreciate my other AMV where Iczer-2 finally gets a little respect. It's titled "Anime Lady Evil" and I think I pushed WMM to the limit doing it, so will use a third party video program for my next effort. Sore ja!

  • I have Fight! Iczer One OAV up already and currently uploading the last 2 OAVs, check out my channel.
