The S 5 looks cheap? The Jag is the one that looks like a Hundai when you look at it from the front! Only the rear of the Jag is nice looking. Audi S5 is one of the most beautiful cars on the road at the moment....until the RS5 comes out that is :)

the level for jaguar is mercedes or bmw not the cheap audi or lexus

sometimes we can compare jaguar with aston martin or bentley because the jaguar has highest quality more than german rivals

I have to disagree with you, Audi and Lexus are qualitatively much better.

It's just the image, Lexus used to be rebadged Toyota's (and for some models still are) while Audi used to be rebadged Volkswagens but today they are using completely different frames, engines and even electronics.

Interesting comparison of the XJ, Audi and BMV on Top Gear recently. Even though the commentators are know-alls, their understanding of cars is usually quite astute. Essnetially, they concluded that, in terms of driving oomph, only the BMW outpowers the Jaguar XF. Apparently, the Audi comes a poor third in most comparison of these cars. I am more inclined to trust the Top Gear experts than some of the voices of dissent on this particular thread.

Who really cares if Jag are owned by Ford? Audi are owned by VW. VW also happen to own Skoda and SEAT as well as Lambo and Bugatti. GM (Vauxhall/Opel) own Saab. The fact is, it really doesn't matter anymore as most of these firms are owned by some other mass market car manufacturer. I would take the Jag any day. It is a fantastic looking car and unlike German and Japanese cars it has passion. If I spend £30k+ on a car I want it to excite me, something the competition could never do.

Trust me, it's much better looking in the metal - I'm a designer and I was a bit sceptical at first, but I really do understand why they created it - a certain restrained brutality - this thing looks solid, but not heavy handed. Fast without being brash. It really works - I'm hoping the mid-term facelift uses the C-XF lights.
