Because you get a Game Over if Yukiko dies. You have to save her in order for the game to go on and actually get to this point. The same goes for anyone thrown into the TV

They only die if you don't complete their dungeon and rescue them in time. It's never happened to me, I think they give you plenty of time. :)

Yeah, they do. You just have to complete the Victim's Dungeon before it starts to rain for a few days in a row. If its not completed by the time the rain stops, this happens.
