It would be interesting to find out.lol I love honey on my biscuits. The bees are welcome to eat here as well. They're pollenators and help grow the food we eat too.
Aw! Now that makes me feel even worse! I'm afraid to fill it back up though, bacause it's got this mold stuff on it that I can't scrub off!I don't want to kill my birds.
If you want to kill the mold you can flush the feeder with a 10:1 water/bleach ratio. The mold will die, and should flush off with water. Then just let it dry for the bleach to evaporate before filling.
You are welcome! My feeder is right outside the window so I can get some pretty good close-ups. The weather is so dry here the bees are trying to find moisture and food where ever they can. I hope Mother Nature sends us some rain soon!
Very nice shots of the birds and bees, thanks.

Oh! I just noticed that you can see the pollen sacs on the bees' legs. Very cool! I wonder what hummingbird food honey would taste like?

Bees are cool. It's so hot & dry, not many flowers for them right now. Glad my feeders can help them all out.:)

The birds seem to have a respect for the bees. I don't mind the bees either, they can eat here too. I just have to be careful not to get stung.:)

sweet. I can't even get a good snapshot of them because they are so skittish.... maybe if I cleaned the window, huh?
ImaMuffin 4 years ago
Maybe. But, if you look closely at my windows you'll see lots of doggy nose prints and other crud.lol
These birds are very shy, keep trying!
