  • Since the NX5U has a microphone attached on top and a fixed lens, it would be better to use a special kit we have for cameras like the Sony EX3 and Panasonic HVX200. This camera requires a MMB-1 Mattebox with side loading trays.

  • Can this setup work on a Sony HXR-NX5U? If not, will you/do you have any systems for that model?

  • @lwj033 Not all. It has two screws that go into the base of the F3, which makes the camera secure when mounted. It's pretty hefty for it's size when you actually hold it. The main thing in designing a good baseplate is that not only must the height for rails be correct, but enough room all sides has to be left to actually mount accessories. The MBP-1 allows you to work the way you need with a variety of cameras.
