This is by far better than prince's and beyonce's version put together. The arrangmetn, the emotion, and and the vocals are mindblwing. To be honest, I thought this was an original song by her. really great job, this is a real cover.

I think that Mariah Carey has lost her self. After the Butterfly era, we get nothing but shallow pop over "hip hop" beats. The Emancipation Of Mimi seemed like she was trying again, but then that ended as soon as E=MC2 was released. I love her and continually listen to her music, but it is without a doubt that Mariah Carey was going through something, and it reflected in her music. Her music, quality wise, has been improving more or less, but she sounds like she is going through the motions now.

You can hear a little bit of the original beat in the background but they put a 90's twist on it. And I love that they made it a duet. People give them props for this!!! The harmonies were great and mariah and sisqo going back and forth was so hot. LOVE IT!

Also, the original had rawness in spades starting from its 80’s own sound production, which was more than suitable when it comes to expressing excessive rawness to almost awkward level. Sorry Mariah... Its beautiful, but its also passable. Prince is unique.
This version is beautiful, but it needs MORE than beauty, it needs raw emotional expression, and thats where the original, unequalled version really becomes timeless. This is cute, well done and beautiful, but Prince's original version had a raw and original honesty this version is not even close to provide us with.

I think that Mariah Carey has lost her self. After the Butterfly era, we get nothing but shallow pop over "hip hop" beats. The Emancipation Of Mimi seemed like she was trying again, but then that ended as soon as E=MC2 was released. I love her and continually listen to her music, but it is without a doubt that Mariah Carey was going through something, and it reflected in her music. Her music, quality wise, has been improving more or less, but she sounds like she is going through the motions now.

@chelz492 I love Mariah Carey, However, she quit "singing" after this album. She kept putting out songs yes. But she quit singing a while ago. She doesn't have the voice to sing like she used to. Leona Lewis can sing her ass off, but nobody wants to give her the credit. But don't get me wrong. I am not hating Mariah. I think that Mariah and Sisqo are going off on this version. I've always loved it. And they did it justice. Its alot of artists who try to redo a Prince song and they just screw it up. You can hear a little bit of the original beat in the background but they put a 90's twist on it. And I love that they made it a duet. People give them props for this!!! The harmonies were great and mariah and sisqo going back and forth was so hot. LOVE IT!

Also, the original had rawness in spades starting from its 80’s own sound production, which was more than suitable when it comes to expressing excessive rawness to almost awkward level. Sorry Mariah... Its beautiful, but its also passable. Prince is unique.
