  • Yyyyyup. My girlfriend pretty much grabbed my arm and buried her head in my shoulder during that whole scene... watching an awesome character like that get put down in such a way sucks I gotta admit..

  • I've got the same reaction :" it's impossible , he can't die , nooooooooo"

I even though that Arya was gonna save him .

  • nice TV

  • I bet that the guy read the books!!!

It's a bit jerkish to do such a thing with your girlfriend, but I can tell you that my friends reactions were the same. ;)

  • oh they do

  • I shout fark and throw my DVD away

  • I wish we could get a reaction video where they don't notice the camera. I watched one where the person was about to cry but then stopped because she noticed the camera

  • This scene is the reason why I love these books, there is no last moment rescue. If you fucked it up you are doomed.

  • That's how I was too > 0:50 At this part of the episode I had kneel to the floor and I was watching with my eyes and mouth wide open. Then I started crying loudly.

This...was...unacceptable. NOT AGAIN, SEAN BEAN! X'O

  • Boromir got it again.

  • Got cold after that scene so put myself in foetal position and suck my thumb.

  • I havent seen the show yet but when I read it I keep turning back to make sure I read it right, but at the rate Martin is going everyones gonna be dead...;p

  • Great reaction....

  • "Nuoh mah gawd!"

  • Wait until they reach the third book. shit will hit the fan.

  • Everyone's reaction is like "Fuck" and "Joffery you son of a bitch"

  • This is nothing. You guys just wait for the Red Wedding. You'll never want to watch this show again...but you will ;)

  • "Is this gonna be 'Amanda watches Game of Thorns'?" - So distraught she forgot the name the show.

  • Seeing all these reactions is awesome. I read the books beforehand, so I knew what was going to happen, but I think most people that read it had nearly the same reaction as those watching.

I remember actually throwing the book across my room after reading his death, LOL. It's later that you come to realize Book 1/Season 1 is merely an extended prologue. That's how I've seen it, anyhow.

  • @DrDraco I remember when I first read through the books, it had me screaming "Fuck you, George!" vehemently, as I stood on my bed, with one hand in my pocket and the other punching the ceiling. Cuz, that's what all normal people do.

  • LOOOOOL doesn't she know sean bean always dies xD

  • fuck that shit! they killed her nigga Ned. oh wait...

  • Just make sure you're recording the 9th episode of season 3.

  • doesn't matter had sex

  • actually if you take all the books into consideration Ned's death could be considered as just the inciting incident.

  • That's why I love girls...

  • jesus. i'd read the books and knew it was coming and i still WEPT LIKE A GODDAMN CHILD.

  • To everyone who had this reaction: IT IS ONLY JUST BEGINNING MUAHAHAHAH

  • i knew ned died LITERALLY 10 years ago...though my wife and i watch this and she doesn't know

  • Don't bother girl, that was EXACTLY my reaction too!! I was shocked for minutes!

  • "Is this gonna be like 'Crying Wife'?"

    I love this woman!

  • Fucking Sean Bean man... we should've known...

  • @yoyothriller

He lasted til near the end of the series - that's pretty good.

At the beginning of the series, I didn't know he was going to diie - but during the beheading scene, I knew they would go through with it. It all made sense - you don't hire Sean Bean just to survive and be the goody-two-shoes. That's not what he does.

The flawed hero who redeems his flaws by dieing - that's the kind of character Sean Bean excels at.

  • Awh cute! Haha! My boyfriend usually left me to sleep whenever I bring him to watch shows. Or movies. Maybe it's a sign?

Anyway, the Starks will fall apart in the book, right? Like Robb and his mum murdered, Sansa, Arya, and Bran and the other younger brother will never see each other again? Snow stayed on the Wall?

  • @alwynes Do you really want the answer to this question. Cause if so I'll be more than happy to fill you in.

  • @Litewraith yes!

  • George R R Martin: "Problem?"

  • That's cool man. Great GF

  • She has a great Rack

  • You know what's worst? Ned was killed with his own sword. They don't make that big a deal of Ice during the series, but that humongous sword he's cleaning in the first episode? Yeah... That Valyrian steel is what was used to cut his head off,

  • WTH!! He was the good character in the show. I felt like the show was left for the bad guys to win...

  • noooo

    lord stark is dead

  • @tfall11 It wasn't Tyrion

  • @tfall11 Is it REALLY Tyrion, though....?

  • @tfall11 ....its not Tyrion. Its freaking Margaery's grandmother read the book.

  • @tfall11 Littlefinger and Olenna Redwyne killed him.Read the books

  • Not knowing anything about GAME OF THRONES before I watched it, I immediatley became swept up by it. When Ep. 9 ended, I felt numb with shock.

By the way, your girlfriend is awesome. Her "crying wife" response was a hoot.

Who would have thought that something so charming could come from something so shocking. Thank you for posting this.

  • It was only a little less entertaining than Hitler's reaction.^^

I felt the same btw. I was waiting till the end that some Robin Hood type of thing will happen, with someone from the crowd shooting the executioner or something.

Afterwards i really hated myselft for being a part of a retarded hollywood generation always waiting for a happy end. This scene actually said: "Fuck you, that's what really happens - good people die, assholes and opportunists live on and that's why religion exists."

  • @casperado666 I felt the same way! Though, I don't know why I was surprised, Sean Bean dies in everything he's in. haha. I haven't read the books, but I swear to god, those Lanisters better get some come uppance!

  • @darryl07 Read the books, they're so awesome.

  • @darryl07

    hohoho.... you know SolForces motto:

    Repensum est Canicula

    applies here.

    And

    Then

    some.

  • @darryl07 They do... oh yes... they hell do =) D.R.

  • @darryl07 The lannisters do... Dont you worry!

  • @casperado666 Well, I would rather live in this 'retarded Hollywood generation' that has the comfort of watching these sorts of things on tv instead of living through them in real life - which means that the assholes and opportunists don't always win.

  • @squamish4244 you've got a good point. life without internet would suck big time. but today good people still get used and die in pointless wars and assholes have all the money and power. Just look at the government of pretty much any country.

  • @casperado666 At least we do not have White Walkers (I think).

  • @casperado666 lol i just was about to type almost word for word of what you just said.... i was even about to name drop robin hood.... haha i still hate that he died but it's just part of the reason why it will probably be considered one of the best shows ever when all is said and done.

  • @casperado666 oh god, you just had to bring religionm into it, didn't you?

  • @casperado666 Trust me when I say, the story is just beginning

  • @casperado666 Actually it happens, because without Ned dieing was the point of the story where the shit hits the fan leading into 'A Clash of Kings' and then shaping the rest of the story by how all the main characters react to what has happened.

  • @casperado666 WELL SAID!! I can only agree:O

I also waited till the very end for someone who would save him... it was shocking, though it WAS better, than that shitty hollywood version would have been :)

  • i was watching it at 3am with my sister and niece fast asleep waking up to me going "NNNNNNRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"

  • That was the second best scene of the show, after when the nights watch ride out beyond the wall. When i watched it I almost cried. The next episode though would ought to cheer you right up with what happens with Rob, king of the north, and Tyrion. The new hand of the king

  • when i read this part in the book I literally had to read it three times over to understand what had happened, my brain wouldn't accept the information... :(

  • I actually covered my eyes and looked between the fingers. Shocked. And screaming.

    NED STARK NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

  • Let's be honest. That was EVERYONE'S reaction to that part of the show.

  • @Avatarofhendrix Everyone who is awesome. Then, yeah. Watching the comments come in about the shared experience is really fun to see. And also those who have read the books already enjoying seeing people freak out about it, I'm sure is insanely satisfying for them, haha.

  • @darryl07 should i read the book or wait for season 2

  • @biplav32 no idea. I haven't read the books. I'm waiting for season 2... patiently. It's. so. close.

  • @biplav32

the books, read all the books. they're better than the show, and that's saying something cause the show is awesome. this series is book 1.

this scene is amazing, but it's dwarfed by parts of the other books (i wont spoil anything though). You definitely need to read them

  • @phili666 so does book 2 start at the end season 1 ?

  • @biplav32

yes, if you're dying to see what happens next then you could start with a clash of kings (the second book). the series is very accurate. you should go back and read the first sometimes though, theres parts obviously been cut and characters are more developed.

  • @Avatarofhendrix my reaction was even more exaggerated

  • @Avatarofhendrix not if you had read the book.,,

  • I love watch people reactions, it what is worth to follow the series and see as it's as the same reaction as yours

  • This is one of those scenes that makes you

    0_0

    For ten minutes in silence.

  • @legitchamp I know... The silence just before it happens is just brutal

  • LOL! That was me when I was watching it. I threw the remote across the room, I was so pissed. Then my mom yelled at me lol.

  • just because of that every time i see that actors face (joffreys) i'm gonna wanna punch him.

  • @XlightninX Batman should have punched him in the face in Batman Begins then this would have never happened

  • Oh and "Ser" Ilyn Payne gets his own when Tyrions becomes hand of the king.

  • I always thought some arrow out of the nowhere would save it . Seriously

  • Words don't count if a "BUT" comes after that

  • Fuck this part pissed me off. Ned Strak, by far my most favourite Character, offed by that little prick.

  • @PlaceBotox Don't get too attached to any characters.

  • please record her during the Red Wedding. You'll go viral.

  • XD

  • I love how she didn't notice the camera until after Ned died.

    She's a keeper.

  • I basically had a punch the wall moment during thisp art of the book and show and was like "NOOOOOOO!!!!!!" Spoiler alert, the wall one...

  • As I watched Ed's head spin in the air I yelled and cursed that boy wannabe king to hell.

  • O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN O GOD O MAN

  • to be fair eddard brought it on himself. he's far too trusting and honorable

  • Me and my friend Ross were watching this together when it happened. We sat there for ten minutes before I finally looked over at him quietly stated, "Bullshit." he looked at me and said, "What the fuck?" and we were quiet again for another ten minutes

  • that you filmed it kind of ruined it for her

  • you're so cute :)

  • I bet everyone was expecting an arrow to come flying in and save him at that moment.

  • @13Klevis

When you're reading the book you're expecting that. Or that Arya will jump down and save him. Or something. When you finish Ned's last chapter you assume you must have just missed something (at least I did) and go back and reread his whole chapter again.

  • @diedahero I know what you mean. I kept reading expecting him to be miraculously saved or something

  • @13Klevis Or a fucking crow with a letter or something, but yeah, i had pretty much the same reaction in the video :P

  • I cried!!!! :'(

  • hahaah "whaaaaaat ??"

  • haha, my girlfriend reacted the same way and she cried..then couple minutes later she ranted on and on on how she wanted to kill Joffrey for being a douchebag.

  • I had the same exact reaction. And believe me, I thought it was a dream... until I watched the next episode right after this (I couldn't resist the urge to see what's gonna happen, even though it was 3AM). I'm so sad that I watched all the episodes in 2 nights. It was so addictive and because of that now I have to wait 'till April next year... :(

  • its like when they killed off darth maul in star wars, awesome characters (sean bean in equilibrium, black death, etc)

  • @pidevildog07

no its not, darth maul is a shit character compared to ned stark. You got to know nothing about darth maul before he died, i felt nothing when he died, it was just like, meh... whatever(like the rest of that movie).

But when ned stark died i felt sad. I will miss his character in the series

  • @Osciiis Who cares?!?! As far as entertainment goes he was awesome in my opinion. I think we can all agree sean bean got shafted here though.

  • This video was as suspenseful as the actual episode!

  • Goosebumps

  • I didn't read the books before I watched the show

I was like no no no they can't I know these stupid moments in shows someone is going to come in the last minute and save him... okay any minute now... come on somebo- HOLY SHIT THE SONS OF BITCHES ACTUALLY DID IT :'(

  • lol when me and my dad watched it we we're like "Naw they didnt kill him" so our reaction came with the next episode xD

  • She's a keeper for sure. HOT and couldn't believe what happened to Ned

  • I pretty much had the same reaction...

  • when I saw this I was already thinking "boromir(stark) is no more in the series? fuck games of thrones"

then I realised that I still love Tyrion and he was the other reason I continued to watch this I hope he will not die horribly

  • lmao she was like WTF OMG xD nice video man

  • I was exactly ike that... little heartattack every chapter... this is the only way to watch game of thrones

  • That was pretty cool, it brings it all flooding back.

  • She's hot

  • You've seen nothing yet hahahahaaaaaaaaaaaa

  • they killed her nigga ned

  • i really love seeing the reactions to big plot points like that. brings back memories. i hope soo many people watch season two. Its such a great story!

  • my response was way worse!!!

  • Just wait until season 3 nikka!

  • goddamn i cant wait for the second season of games of thrones, fuckin nedd should lived

  • I was her same shoes, I was like WHAT!?

  • Hopefully you consoled her with your penis afterwards

  • lol its always funny when chicks get emotionally involved in shows lol

  • I was also upset when Ned stark was executed. why does Sean Bean die in almost everything he plays in?

  • @Kyle555shark Sean Bean dies well, thats why he get picked for those parts

  • I read the books so knew this was coming yet I was still pissed off and ready to hit that inbred bastard Joffrey when I saw this episode. I swear that actor is GREAT at playing a character you hate.

  • "Du verschissener kleiner, durch Inzucht gezeugter, Bastard von einem Hurensohn"- Reaction of my father standing up, shouting at and throwing his pillow against the TV while watching this...well, at least that was the beginning^^

(rough translation: "You shitty little inbred whoreson-bastard. <- wow, it looses its special charm as well as its length in English o_O)

  • I reacted pretty much the same way...and I long for the day that Joffrey's head would be displayed for all to see.

  • @Slayton1978

Don't worry. Revenge is a dish best served with wine. By a midget.

  • @mrshlmoltke Actually, isn't Littlefinger the responsible party? That's how I read it.

  • boramir dies again. man that dude cannot catch a break.

  • @nmartinez18 just watched "Black Death"....guess who gets hosed yet again

  • I haven't yelled at the television in a long time. This scene made me do it.

  • This shit is a serious MINDFUCK!

  • Wait til the Red wedding, Your gonna lose your shit there!

  • @Atlantistile1 Red Wedding is the best chapter in any book series, period.

  • @tosavealice Best meaning the most horrific? The Red Wedding actually put me in a funk for several days after reading it. If GRRM doesn't reunite and vindicate the Starks in the coming novels he seriously needs to worry about the status of his own head remaining a part of his body.

  • Don't worry sweetie, I had the same reaction!! NO WAY!! Eddard Stark GONE FOR GOOD!! NO WAY!! We can't loose Eddard Stark so soon! ...not to mention Sean Bean..I was so happy watching him!! :( We lost him......

    Yvonne from Malta

  • haha wicked! I hadn't read the books until after I'd seen the first series and had a similar (if far more manly!) reaction to this scene :D "WHAT??!!! F**KING WHAAAAT?!! Oh my god, they killed Neddy- you bastards!!!"

Joffrey is the most easily detestable little scrote in the whole thing. Cersei I'd love to hate, but Lena Headey is too much of a hottie! Can't blame Jaime for slipping her one ;)

  • i love this girl

  • better not to show her the red wedding which be in the third season))

  • Marry her now! Do not wait. You are a foul to let that slip away. Be a Knight and claim her as yours.

  • This scene sucked when I first read the books. I eventually got over it, but it made me hate this series for awhile.

  • When i read the books i was extremely angry when Ned died, when i watched the show it brought back those same feelings, they did a darned good job at this scene

  • I could have done the same thing, my girlfriend had a similar reaction to this scene (I had read the books and knew it was coming). However, what was worse was her reaction to the death of Drogo, she went and locked herself in the bedroom for about a half hour and cried.

  • I cried this whole scene, Gosh :D

  • Oh, that was awesome. Thanks for sharing that.

I did not get to watch it with someone who didn't know it was coming...this is as entertaining as I thought it would be. :)

  • @mythfish You're very welcome. She had so many moments throughout that first season I wish I had video taped. But since I didn't know what was coming either I didn't know what was coming and when. A friend saw the episode before me and told me I had to catch her reactions in the last few minutes of this episode. So glad I did.

  • @darryl07 What about the last episode? How did she react in the final scenes of that one?

  • 1:58 she farted a whole pillow out!

  • Love the fact she hides behind the cushin :)

  • I never watched this show before, but I'd watch this channel.

  • I was the same ;)

  • At least it was a better reaction than I had when reading that scene in the book...I was like: "OH, FUCK YOU JOFFREY!!!" Seriously. And then I didn't finish the book until about three months later...

  • @legendarycupcake SO FUNNY! hahahaha. fuckin' Joffrey.

  • @darryl07 I wish you got her reaction from episode 10 when the khal is killed. that would have been really funny.

  • @legendarycupcake I agree with you, when Eddard died, I was in complete fucking shock, I'll be smacked to watch it on the series after reading the book

  • @legendarycupcake

Fuck you Joffrey is a totally appropriate response to about 90% of what he does. Seriously, GRRM knows how to write an absolute monster of a boy.
