  • This video brought me to tears. Pete's voice gently singing-I remember the episode. And Garth Brook's powerfully touching "The Dance". I was a teenager too when I watched him on Alias Smith and Jones, fell in love with him on the spot. Devilishly handsome young man and very talented actor.

  • Very sorry, but I find these tributes very intrusive.

  • @Dwightinho56 His brother doesn't feel so. Nor do all the fans who visit and send emails about how it made them feel. Too bad you couldn't get it out of it the same thing most of us do. The 'story' you read about Pete Duel isn't the whole story. For those of us who know more, we are certain we haven't offended.

  • @Dwightinho56 Why instrusive, I find them very touching and a tribute to a great actor who was lost too soon, if they were intrusive then his family (who must know of these vids) would ask for a stop to them, as they haven't then I assume that they are just as proud of their brother/son/friend as are the fans - one of whom is me! I can only thank fans for putting Peters appearances on here for us all to enjoy. Peace & Ecology.

  • This was very poignant, thank you. God what a beautiful, talented man. Couldn't wait for Thursday nights to see that face and hear that voice. I remember feeling like I'd been kicked in the stomach when I heard the news on New Year's Eve. I was 16 and I couldn't believe it -- Nearly 40 years later I watch these videos and I still can't. RIP Pete, we love you.

  • Thank you for putting this on here and just hearing Petes lovely voice again, its taken me a long time to actually watch this as I have found it so hard since he died all those years ago, I was about 17 when he died and it still shocks me to this day. A beautiful man was lost and I just think what he could have been doing now.

  • My favorite, always!!!

  • brill actor and a amazing charismatic human being xxx

  • I was friends with Pete's brother Jeff in High School. Both he and his brother were down to earth GOOD guys. Jeff was also friends with my best pal and drummer, Mike R. I think Mike moved to LA and hung out with Pete for a while. If anyone know where Jeff or Mike are please give them a shout for me - Mike's old Lead Guitar- NB.

  • @nhb1234 Hey. Send me an email to info@peteduel.info and I'll put you in touch with Geoff. -Laura

  • You can still watch all the series on Hulu. Maybe Netflix to.

  • Which songs are played here?

  • @2006Crusader2006 A song called "Simple Gifts" is sung by Pete Duel (as performed in the Alias Smith & Jones episode, "The Posse That Wouldn't Quit"). "The Dance," which follows, is sung by Garth Brooks.

  • I was 11 when pete died, I used to watch smith and jones every week with my dad, wonderfull memories

  • Thank you for this lovely tribute to a lovely, kind and caring man, a life ended too soon,.

  • i was 10 when pete died.......he was my first real crush and has remained in my heart to this day. thanks to film i can watch him again and again, its just a pity we can't get gidget and love on a rooftop on cd in the uk.

r.i.p. sweet pete, you are always in my thoughts x

  • He was such a handsome guy! I never understood why he committed suicide at such a young age. He lived with his girlfriend Diane Ray.

  • I think some of the stars that we lost in the 1970s and 1980s at a young age

such as Pete Duel,Freddie Prinze and John Erik Hexum would have gone on

to be the biggest and brightest stars of Today. What a waste.

  • You know, I still wish I could have known him. Who found him?

  • Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul. I wish he'd lived a long and happy life even if it meant we couldn't have him anymore in Hollyweird. He was too good for it. Everytime I think of recycling I think of Pete, everytime I see a sunrise too. Thanks for helping me to orchestrate my tears. It feels better somehow to let it out even today.

  • Here I am almost crying for a man that died when I was only 7 years old. I loved him in Gidget, I never saw Alias Smith and Jones. He also starred on a show called Love On A Rooftop too.

  • amazing, really touching, thanks

  • Thank you for sharing your journey with us. I remember Pete and most likely fell in love when I was four. He was so instrumental in making parts of my childhood memorable. I still miss him - Yes...to this day. I never understood losing him at such a young age, but things like this we never really do. Thanks heyesfan for your trust .

  • Very well made video, well done...

  • He's sorely missed. My sister and I were twelve year olds at the time of Pete's death. We were huge fans and had scrapbooks of "Alias Smith and Jones". My sister took his death pretty hard. It's still tough to think about, he was a very talented guy with so much to offer the world. Thankfully, with film, he will never be forgotten.

  • I watch Alias Smith and Jones EVERY Saturday and Sunday. Hand no clue why he was replaced. I'm truely sadened. R.I.P. "Smith"...

  • @ZPMHinojosa I have two questions. What channel does it play on and what time a day. I love that show too. To answer your question,he was replaced because ABC wouldn't let them cancel the show and threatened to sue if they didn't deliver on the show's contract. So they hired Roger Davis to replace him.

  • @STCooper1 i know it's on retrotv on the weekends. great show.

  • @tdreadedkaz Thank you.

  • i just got finished watching him in an Ironside episode and a couple Virginian episodes and it's just like I always knew, Pete was the most talented, brilliant actor I have ever seen. He was born to act. He outshined all the other actors back then and even outshines all the actors of today. I wish he had been presented some kind of an award back then, because he truly deserved it! He was totally, totally AWESOME!

  • i always watched his show...wouldn't miss it....i didn't even know he died what a shame. R.I.P

  • @marcellino1956 Pete comitted suicide. But why is his last name Deuel with an extra "e". It's so sad, when I watched the serie back then, I really loved it. After they finished broadcasting it on tv, it took a long time before I knew he died. R.I.P. Pete. God Bless.

  • @erniesigsoundfan The family name is DEUEL. Pete went to Hollywood under his full name PETER DEUEL and then changed it after several years of being there to PETE DUEL. FYI.

  • I love his voice.

  • What a loving tribute to Pete. I was 14 when he died, and I have never forgotten about him. Such a great actor, so handsome with a smile that just made me melt.... he is missed

  • Ana I hope you get to visit his grave some day. I hope I can too. I am happy that Pete has new generations of fans! That is so awesome! You have excellent taste.

  • And i have promised myself to visit his grave when i get older^^

  • I wans't born yet when he died, but i saw hm at my TV when i was 9. I asked my mom who the man in black hat was. and she said Pete Duel. I just ahhh... He was cute. and that was the day i began to like him. I began to watch Alias Smith and Jones and the other series he was in.a month after i began to like him i readed that he was dead. I got into a big cry when i read it. He was a great man. hope you love your place in heaven.

  • The second I laid eyes on him on TV when I was 10 years old, I knew he was special. I couldn't stop staring at how handsome he was. I was only 10 years old and had enough sense to recognize talent and good looks when I saw it. I have never forgotten him. He is special in my heart and will always be a part of me forever. I just love him so much!

  • so sad, such a loss of a promising young life, very moving video tasefully done, thanks for sharing it.

R.I.P. Pete hope you are truely at peace. x

  • beautifully done.

  • I was 12 years old when Pete Died and

I guess thats why it had such a big

effect on me. If he had lived he would have been one of the really big stars

    of our time.

    Pete RIP dude

  • such a hansom man! he would have been 69 now...R.I.P pete..

  • A lovely tribute, just had me in tears watching it - I just watched the whole series again - Roger Davis did a very good job considering but Pete was not really replaceable and I guess it was real hard for Ben Murphy to carry on the series.

Its time the whole series was released on DVD

  • thanks so much, he was always my perfect dream guy, rest in peace x

  • It was my favorite show...I looked forward all week to see Pete's beautiful face on Thurs. night. I miss him and have thought of him countless times over the years. Luv you Pete.

  • Hällström

  • i was 13 yrs old and a big fan of the show, i remember just being really confused why he would do such a thing, i guess i still am a little. Down here in Australia i can only get season 1 on dvd, not season 2!

  • Hi. Unfortunately we can't get Season 2 in the U.S., either. It hasn't been released on DVD. But you can find copies of Season 2 on eBay.

  • jamesbartlyccc-I was 14yrs old when Pete left us,I couldnt understand why he took his life either-he seemed to have so much going for him-but as ive grown older ive come to realise that Life doesnt suit Everyone&its how you are treated by others that makes You who You are-if You give Love and Encouragement-it gets passed on&it is returned to You.

    But thats just MY opinion.

I was sad when Pete died-I thought he was great&my fav show was Never the same.

Series 2 hasnt been released yet.

  • God how I loved this show. I was so sad when he took his own life. We watched this show religiously. It was one of my very favorite westerners. He is still thought of and missed. Thank you for such a beautiful tribute to Peter Duel.

  • So sweet that fans still visit his gravesite. I wonder if he had any idea how much people he didn't even know cared about him? I don't think he did. I wish he had known.

  • Still Greatly missed..................loved this,thanks for sharing

  • Whoa... Listening to Pete sing the intro to this video took me back to being 14 years old and madly in love with this handsome, good humored man. I had posters of him all over my room and eagerly looked forward to any photos, articles, or shows with him. That was before internet, 24 hour news channels,

vcr's, dvr's, etc. I remember hearing and seeing news of his death, and the loss and devastation I felt. Such a tragedy. I'm glad to know others still love and miss him as much as I do.

  • As a child I was a big Alias Smith and Jones fan. I loved Pete Duel and I remember it well when I heard he had died. Such a shame. A very gifted and beautiful man. Thank you for this video.

  • We love ya Pete your definitely a gift t us rest in peace.

  • Thank you for posting!

I have a bitter/sweet feeling everytime I seen this video. It makes me so sad and wish that he hadn't done that. So beautiful the man was.

  • Thank you.

  • Beautiful. Thankyou so much for making this video. <3 I loved Pete; I still can't believe such a bright, gifted star left us so early.

  • laura, thank you for such a wonderful tribute. may pete find rest now.

  • I still believe to this day Pete Deuel was murdered and did not commit suicide

  • i also believed he could of been murdered, the only ones who know is pete and his girlfriend who in the house with him at the time.

  • I was only 11 when Peter Duel died, but I remember it very well. I was devastated at the loss of my first crush. RIP Peter.

  • hi,i am just an anonymus belgian fan of pete.i wish the best for all his family.boy, such a loss of a great human!!

  • This was great. Thanks!!

  • Laura,

Thank you so much for this beautiful tribute! I am in awe of your sensitivity to match just the right songs to your videos! You have taken me with you to visit the resting place of our dear Peter, and for that I am grateful!

  • Great song for this video on Peter! So true, at lease we had him for awhile even if we had the pain but we would have missed the dance.

    Poison Ivy

  • Such a beautiful tribute - its just wonderful thank you. And thank you for a great memorial site.

  • Words escape me! Thank you for this wonderful tribute video to a beautiful man. I will always miss my sweet shining star.RIP dear Pete. Thanks again!

  • Thank you, Ana. I know some of Pete's closest friends and I know any nasty words about him are out of context of the man's life. And what he did for so many of us and what he continues to do can't be discounted, either. Thank you again.

  • Dear Laura,

Thanks for this video. I´ve visited Penfield several times and I´ve watched several good memorials of some fans, but this is one of the most wonderful and moving. I´ve not been in touch with fans for a long time but this video and songs made me feel that even any book or any nasty words to Peter, there is still many fans who keep his memory deep inside in our hearts. Thanks for sharing this video and God Bless you. With Peace and Love from Spain..... Ana Soler
