  • why was song put on private ?

  • it's rumored that this whole album was wrote for and dedicated to courtney cox. i cant belive that her or jennifer aniston went out with these guy. he's freaking ugly, and they are so pretty!

  • That was just uncalled for.

  • I think it's hopeful... I always listen to it when I'm down but need a song to think and reflect on. Helps me when I need it, awesome 90's song.

  • Man this song is depressing.

  • love this song...sometimes i need to hear this one

  • Is it just me, or is that Courtney Cox?

  • She use to Smash the lead Singer.

  • yea, i was just gonna say, thats his kinda girl

  • heeheehee - only on youtube could instant mashed potato and euphamisms be so beautifully combined...

  • yeah Xd is courtney cox men

    XD

I can't believe it too XD

  • curses...FUCK YOU PROGRESSIVE!

  • This song makes me cry a little; there is both beauty and sadness in the memories it brings me.

  • ditto BRO!

  • Does anyone know if the Counting Crows have any Christmas songs available on Itunes?

  • I love this album but it's a little depressing...

  • Great song. From what year is it?

  • 1996

  • it's snowing in Baltimore right now. love this song.

  • LUV IT!

  • NICE SONG!!!

  • i guess the winter makes u laugh alittile slower, makes u talk alittle lower about the things you could not show her

  • Love This Song, It Brings So Many Memories Back, & New Ones!! =)

  • ya its great to listen to in december!

good or bad memories are precious

bad memories are like lessons :p

  • how can you bring back new memories?

  • if they are memories then they have passed, so even if they are new you can long to bring them back.

  • good stuff. i think musics gotta be one of the most wonderful things people can make.

  • I try to tell myself to hold on to these moments as they pass..

    Beautiful song...Always will be..

  • This is my december ritual. Hopefully next year will be better than this one

  • I actually got to meet Adam Duritz while standing in the concession line for Lord Of the Rings. I tapped on the shoulder and said, "Hey, Man, just wanted to let you know that LONG DECEMBER really helped me get thru a bad time. " And he just kinda mumbled, "Thanks" and turned back around and blew me off. LOL. (Not that I was expecting to become friends or anything.) I guess people say that to him all the time. This song will always mean a lot to me.

  • Your movies mean alot to me.

  • Thanks RobGoth. I'm always a bit surprised to be "recognized" on youtube.

  • Thank you Kurt. A day without a Kurt Lockwood flick is like a day without sunshine.

  • That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard

  • >Thinks Counting Crows is dumb

    >Listens to Imogen Heap

    BAaahahahahaha.

  • when he sings ..."and theres reason to believe maybe this year will be better then the last.". it´s no his fault ... it´s fault of your last fuckin president... george bush..

  • @deylast1028....lol, thats the gayest comment ive ever read. thanks for the laugh LOL

  • deylast1028 - this song was made in 1996, Bill Clinton was the president... and your comment makes no sense anyways...

  • pennies2dollars- in fairness to deylast the president before bill clinton was George Bush (the father of George W Bush) maybe he was refering to him?

  • I considered that, but the song was made in 1996 and in context with the the line "maybe this year will be better than the last".. the last year would have been 1995 and the president in 1995 was Bill Clinton.

  • What a thought!!!!!!!

  • This song always takes me back to a special someplace. End of the year isn't complete w/o hearing this.

  • So true. It's the almost perfect footnote to another disappointing year.

  • lol....I have to laugh because when he sings..."and theres reason to believe maybe this year will be better then the last.". I ALWAYS say "I hope so.". Maybe this YEAR is our year man...lol. I still have hope or maybe is hopelessness. Either way let's hope it's better.

  • this song made me go to california.

  • My friend sarah died 1997 january. this song reminds me of her. She was 17.

  • This song sends me back to winter 1996/97 when it was a new release. I remember watching this video on my girlfriend's bedroom TV. That girlfriend broke my heart so bad that I still miss her thirteen years later.

  • Damn dude That blows... Just like it says in the song.. Sometimes you get a lot of Oysters and no pearls... Its an amazing song tho..

  • I know what you feel... ;) love is pain

  • is this not working for anyone else?

  • Counting Crows and Courtney Cox :3 that's her, right? o_O

  • Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. First two albums are awesome, but after that....not so much. They suck live. Search YouTube, and you will see.

  • I think so I know the lead singer dated her for a while

  • The live version from Across a Wire is a good bit better than the recording. I love Counting Crows.

  • For Brian...chula vista...peace

  • I came to this video because John Mayers new song reminded me of this one.

call me crazy but I think John Mayer lifted a part from this song and he has a big history of ripping parts from other songs. Mayer's new song "Who says" AROUND the 1:07 mark sounds exactly like this song around the 40 second mark.

And what is even funnier is Mayer's older song "Stop This Train" sounds identical to the beginning of "Who Says" his new song. Seems to me he just copied a few parts here or there.

  • dude... John Mayer started music in 1997 and this album is much older

  • HUH? No you got what I am saying reversed. I know this album is way older, I am saying John lifted from this song.

  • oh .. my bad ; )

  • i love this band, alot of good memories with this band.

  • wonderful video, brings me back

  • This song will forever remind me of the night my friends and I threw back a few too many shots. We cranked this song and all drunkenly sang it at the top of our lungs. Rofl.

    Good times.

  • i like how this song is sad but at the same time uplifting

  • I suck bud. Weed rulez :)

  • @JunFan777 weed does rule man! good shit!

  • this is a great song reminds me of a girl i really like

  • Certainly one of my favourites. Reminds me so much of Christmas, 1996- along with REM's Electrolite which was released at the same time.

  • 5 stars is not enough

  • watch dirk francis olan 3

  • is that courtney cox?

  • yup

  • Good eye. She was dating the singer, Adam Duritz at the time,

  • i think you guys should stop talking bout snow and really enjoy the importance of this song.the man talents are amazing and you all should admire that before he's gone!!!

  • SNOW IS AWESOME!!!

  • I live in Northern Maine 5 mins from the Canadian border and we get slammed ev yr with tons of that crappy white stuff!!!!

  • get this:

My Mom had a friend over the internet. he lived on Canyon Boulevard in Hollywood, his best friend died in December, and he always wanted to see the ocean.

  • @Lanceo90 is it really a friend if its just over the internet? just wondering..

  • makes more sense than loving a bum who died 2,000 years ago

  • @beepeelow your mom sucks bud! :)

  • Noted ...

  • They're better when the piano is more prominent. Need T. Bone Burnett to do the production again.

  • I remember seeing this video when it first came out. It was one of the first music videos I ever saw... I think it was on "Pop Up Video."

I don't remember if it was VH1 or MTV

  • @Devariel if it was a pop up then that would be vh1

  • bahh, PA's winters are just cold and dark.

    barely snows; it's super depressing.

  • oh god, I'm from Lancaster and I spent last winter living upstate on the NY border; lots of snow, and even more depressing! lol

  • Can anyone tell me if there's one Counting Crows song without the words "I", "Me", "My", or "Mine" in the lyrics?

  • there's a beatles song called i me mine

  • buc up elliotatme at least gays can't get married in your state. bless there hearts.

  • Haha none of you know snow I live in Maine. 5inches is a dusting

Look forward to it every year.

    HATE THE HEAT HERE!!!

  • if you think that i could be forgiven; i wish you would

  • "All at once you look across a crowded room

To see the way that light attaches to a girl "

  • my father lives in cali

  • is that courtney cox?

  • yep! her and adam duritz dated for a while.

  • I love this song, but those bastards in Cali need to stop complaining about winter there. It's so much worse in 60% of the country. Chicago winters are bloody horrible.

  • indeed. hell, try living in virginia: not even that far north, but the altitude makes it snow all the time

  • try poconos mountians of pa, we already had our first snow of the year and it will snow till easter

  • @PlatniumProductions I live in CA. I play ice hockey so it's annoying listening to all the pussy Californians complaining about winter. A midwest blizzard 20 below definitely changed my perspective on cold.

  • hey hey I live in Northern California and i never complain about the winter if you where here in the winter you would be astounded by it's beuty

  • duz it snow up there?

  • yep but our prob is wind with 130 mph winds and that is low

  • lucky bastard got to fuck courtney cox in her prime.

  • hey come on now i'd still fuck courtney cox lol

  • cool song

  • This is just good music making. music is made to evoke feelings. whether we like the look of the artist or whether we think the singer has any actual talent is moot in this business. Its about what SELLS!

  • this song saves my life every year at this time rip sad

  • If that's what it takes, terrific.

    Pass it on along, then.

  • Me to it makes me laugh and cry and have hope.

  • My favorite band...love Adam.....

Maybe this year will be better than the last,

    joanie

  • its a pity that people just comment about the look of his hair and don't face the originality and the majestusity of this hit

  • They aren't looking for a good song then xD.

But anyways, he looks fine. Nothing wrong with doing something not every fucking person does.

  • you mind explaining to us what majestusity is there pal?

  • 10-5-2009. Sakes alive, sakes alive, David Bryson is 55. Happy Birthday, David. I hope that you all can come perform in my area sometime; Columbia, SC and/or Augusta, GA. Think about it.

  • one of the best bands from mid 90 circa...rock on and believe in true music

  • wow....negative comments towards all, great lyrics and song....just go with the flow! Wait you already are or you would'nt have commented :) It's all about the peeps, not the song that makes it great....remember that!
