Love the sound of the low D Irish Whistle and Uillean pipes. They bite into the soul--at least for me they do. What a great film. I wish it was shown more on American television.
I have been to ireland twice , The first time with a Rugby team, so you can imagine i saw very little except for pubs. The second time I went I was very aware of its beauty and place in my heart and my own history in a way . I was a changed man upon my return. Since then i have had many life changes . Often I reflect on what I understood then standing on the hills of that countryside , and realizing life is not about what you can collect.
does anyone know if this is a low C or a low D whistle used in the beginning? I'm pretty sure its between the two I'm just not positive on which, i could be wrong...can anyone help?

This is one of the most emotional songs in the world. I love every second of it! The soundtrack of Waking ned devine is one of my favourite soundtracks.
I really don't have words for this song...breathtakingly beautiful.
I have a question... what kind of flute are they using?
I want a tin whistle!!!!!!!!!! hahahahha, I ABSOLUTELY ADORE uilleann pipes... "An angel will cry" is another fave...not to mention "Lux eterna my eternal friend" again....no words :P
I've got a Tin Whistle! :] ...But it's a higher, shorter one and not that low as in ''Jackie's Theme'' and I'm unfortunately far away from being a virtuoso. I also love Uileann Pipes and look forward to buy me someday one!
absolutely fabulous-many of my favourite places here

Where did you get the clear picture of the cliffs of Moher? Every time I've been there, I've only managed a picture of fog. Someday...

I know exactly what you mean! ;) That's the reason why I just had to post and share this this video with you. It's pure beauty!
And to answer your question: The flute is a Tin Whistle and the instrument later on is Uilleann Pipes.
