Great song! I love Jonatha's version. I think it's her interpretation but it has such a different feel to it from the original (and I still remember when that one was popular).
I love Jonatha (and The Story) and I just found out about this cover... and yes I love her version but, seriously, the APP original is untouchable... but thanks for paying tribute Jonatha... meeting you at Y&T Miami was one of the musical highlights of my life... the Angel is still in the house
Typically, I'm not a fan of remakes. This is most certainly an exception. Let's give the Alan Parsons Project the ultimate "cred" for this incredible song. No argument here. I'll just end with saying that Jonatha's interpretation showed me the true meaning of the song. I heard it, but never really heard it. If that makes any sense. Now I listen to the original in a new enlightened and heightened state. Yes - it can stir up tears - with the best of them. EXCELLENT!
Jonatha Brooke will be a guest on The Bob Rivers Show today, June 28, at 9:35 AM Pacific Time. Tune into KZOK 102.5 FM Seattle or stream audio and video at bobrivers[dot]com
@floppykid I agree with you absolutely. It loses all the power of the original and, as you say, its sinister meaning. Leave well alone; if it ain't bust, don't fix it.
@sleepher when i see people dislike this, it gives me a real strong smile and chuck this morning cuz this world truly is ridiculous , thank jesus for jonatha!

"Wunderlich never busked a subway in his life. He did, however, fill the Royal Albert Hall, sell over 20 million LPs and rack up 13 gold discs.
Keep practicing, sweetheart."
New Kids on the Block sold millions of records too, so what does that make them?
Millions of records sold and even filling a stadium doesn't equal talent. People would much rather eat Twinkies than something with real substance. KISS has sold more records than Klaus Wunderlich and I loathe them, so who cares...
Having worked with Jonatha and Jennifer (Kimball) when they were The Story.... Jonatha has a unique and emotive voice and is an AMAZING guitarist/instrumentalist.

A terrible cover. She has a voice like nails on a blackboard and a guitar technique like a spastic subway busker. She'll never get signed if that's the best bedroom demo she's got out there.
you may not like her voice, and thats fine, but shes been touring and selling cd's for some time, so she is 'signed'. She may not be a popstar but she isnt a nobody.
Normally I love Jonatha Brooke (her A cappella duet of "In the gloaming" is positively angelic) but this Alan Parsons cover is a real disappointment to me -- and I even liked Tori Amos' cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit"!
The act of covering is fine, usually its done with respect for the artist. But by covering this song in this sensitive way, interpretation is not a good enough excuse for me, she completely ripped out the essence.
Those of you who heard this song on the hills (I saw the scene on tv as well), be sure to check out Alan Parsons Project's original, its more relaxed and 'honest' imo.
I loved the original way back when so I was pleasantly surprised at the masterful job done
by Jonatha Brooke. I was driving down the road in my tractor trailer when this song came on and I was immediately mesmerized by it. P.S. Teamster's cry too

Dear All,
I have some questions about psychology:
(1) Why do we have so manay speculation about the sky?
(2) Why do we enjoy to fly into sky high?
(3) Why do songs that are related to sky and flying give us a more relax and happy mood?
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorm!!! :)

I don't like this version at all. Too effeminate, sounds like a sugary Avril leviegne song. it voids the song of all it's sinister meaning.

She's got several albums out. This ain't a bedroom demo, it's a commercial release.
Wait, I'm defending her to someone who posted 36 videos of Klaus Wunderlich?
Nevermind, I'm done paying attention to you.
