  • Great song! I love Jonatha's version. I think it's her interpretation but it has such a different feel to it from the original (and I still remember when that one was popular).

  • I love Jonatha (and The Story) and I just found out about this cover... and yes I love her version but, seriously, the APP original is untouchable... but thanks for paying tribute Jonatha... meeting you at Y&T Miami was one of the musical highlights of my life... the Angel is still in the house

  • This song is surprisingly difficult to sing. Wonderful version. I love it.

  • i get chill bumps when i hear her voice =)

  • are you mad, what did you do to this beautiful song?

  • Brooke's interpretation of this song is so poignant, brings tears to my eyes. She captured it, completely. Thanks for sharing.

  • Typically, I'm not a fan of remakes. This is most certainly an exception. Let's give the Alan Parsons Project the ultimate "cred" for this incredible song. No argument here. I'll just end with saying that Jonatha's interpretation showed me the true meaning of the song. I heard it, but never really heard it. If that makes any sense. Now I listen to the original in a new enlightened and heightened state. Yes - it can stir up tears - with the best of them. EXCELLENT!

  • no words can describe this

  • my favorite song which for some reason makes me cry everytime i listen to it. not sure why it just does. beautiful though

  • untouchable version, the best

  • The Alan Parsons Project

  • A beautiful cover by Jonatha. I met her after her concert in Jacksonville, and she's a really lovely woman.

  • Jonatha Brooke will be a guest on The Bob Rivers Show today, June 28, at 9:35 AM Pacific Time. Tune into KZOK 102.5 FM Seattle or stream audio and video at bobrivers[dot]com

  • This song was featured in 'The Hills' in season 4 (:

  • amazing....

  • I don't like this version at all. Too effeminate, sounds like a sugary Avril leviegne song. it voids the song of all it's sinister meaning.

  • @floppykid I agree with you absolutely. It loses all the power of the original and, as you say, its sinister meaning. Leave well alone; if it ain't bust, don't fix it.

  • i love the version , her voice , , awesome !!!

  • I never liked the original at all. But this is wonderful.

  • i love this version better than the original..

  • I love both, though this is one of my favorite covers of all time (second to "And So It Goes" by the Kings Singers).

  • @RobBroad4th same thoughts on you bout this song my friend....i love both...:)

  • @sleepher But without the Alan Parsons Project, who would give us terribly dated soundtracks for Ladyhawke?

  • @sleepher ist ok

  • @sleepher when i see people dislike this, it gives me a real strong smile and chuck this morning cuz this world truly is ridiculous , thank jesus for jonatha!

  • beatiful version.

  • Awesome,keep on rockin.NYC

  • ilove dis .. . . haha

  • I love this song. Obviously, I love APP's version the most, but this is very very well done.

  • why do my eyes water up every time i hear this girls voice. thank you Jonatha

  • oh my god this song is so beatiful !!!!!!!!!!!

  • I really love this rendition. A great take on a classic. She made it her own by making it a love song.

  • best version

  • "Wunderlich never busked a subway in his life. He did, however, fill the Royal Albert Hall, sell over 20 million LPs and rack up 13 gold discs.

    Keep practicing, sweetheart."

New Kids on the Block sold millions of records too, so what does that make them?

Millions of records sold and even filling a stadium doesn't equal talent. People would much rather eat Twinkies than something with real substance. KISS has sold more records than Klaus Wunderlich and I loathe them, so who cares...

  • "New Kids on the Block sold millions of records too, so what does that make them?"

    Successful.

  • davvero bella anche questa versione.....che bella!!!

  • Having worked with Jonatha and Jennifer (Kimball) when they were The Story.... Jonatha has a unique and emotive voice and is an AMAZING guitarist/instrumentalist.

Love her cover of this great tune....

  • Wow, lucky you!

  • I really liked the original version, but I think this way of looking at the song is rather fresh. I do like it.

  • you may not like her voice, and thats fine, but shes been touring and selling cd's for some time, so she is 'signed'. She may not be a popstar but she isnt a nobody.

  • She's got several albums out. This ain't a bedroom demo, it's a commercial release.

Wait, I'm defending her to someone who posted 36 videos of Klaus Wunderlich?

Nevermind, I'm done paying attention to you.

  • Normally I love Jonatha Brooke (her A cappella duet of "In the gloaming" is positively angelic) but this Alan Parsons cover is a real disappointment to me -- and I even liked Tori Amos' cover of "Smells Like Teen Spirit"!

  • The act of covering is fine, usually its done with respect for the artist. But by covering this song in this sensitive way, interpretation is not a good enough excuse for me, she completely ripped out the essence.

Those of you who heard this song on the hills (I saw the scene on tv as well), be sure to check out Alan Parsons Project's original, its more relaxed and 'honest' imo.

  • what do mean in a sensitive way?

  • where can I download this song? Can't find it anywhere!

  • i tunes!

  • I love this song... I heard it on the hills

  • Calm down there, Double Post.

  • i love this song!

  • If you think she's annoying, find a track of Alan Parsons doing it live. YIKES.

  • LOL

  • definatley better than the app version (although theres is still gd)

  • i heard it on the hills

  • same here. thats why i downloaded it because of the hills and fell in love with it :)

  • love this

  • i heard it on the hills <3

  • As an Alan Parsons Project fan I consider this version superb. Very touching. I'm now a new fan of Jonatha's.

  • As an alan parsons project fan,i find this version absolutely flawless. Very thoughtful and meaningful.

  • this song is touching

  • i heard it in The Hills also!!!!

    love this song!

  • saw it on the hills too! LOVE IT.

  • I enjoy this version than the original...

  • I like this better than the original..

  • I heard this on thr Hills too!! Love it!! It's on tonight!! Yay!!

  • This song is absolutely beautiful.. I adore it

  • I found this thru the Hills too, cant stop listening now! Love it ♥

  • I just heard this on The Hills! Great song!

  • great i love this version

  • Simply beautiful:)

  • Great cover! Impressive!

  • God.... So so so beautiful!!!

  • Good cover

  • "I am the eye in the sky

Looking at you"....I miss you My Sun :-(

  • I love this version of song. It's better than Alan Parson Project one :-).

The sky is like an embrace; you're immersed in it in each instant (IL CIELO é COME UN ABBRACCIO; TI AVVOLGE IN OGNI ISTANTE).

  • I loved the original way back when so I was pleasantly surprised at the masterful job done

by Jonatha Brooke. I was driving down the road in my tractor trailer when this song came on and I was immediately mesmerized by it. P.S. Teamster's cry too

  • that was cute

  • I love Alan Parsons, but this is amazing.

The passion in her voice is incredible.

  • Thank you for making this excuse. I love love love this version. I'm a Jonatha Brooke fan because of this song. I love her too.

  • I agree. I feel the same way about her cover of "God only knows"

  • Yes, the song is a nice remake of the classic song from The Alan Parsons Project.

Writing from Italy and never saw NY (though many times London), seems beatiful! Must visit it! Thanx x beautiful images.

  • Wow. Love you, Jonatha.

  • This is a beautiful version of this song. Thanks for sharing it. Lovely pictures too! Makes me yearn to return to NYC.
