We practice from extreme angles, like from the sideline on the goal line. High school games that play in college or pro stadiums also have to kick through the narrower uprights, but still from the wider high school hash marks.

A Rugby ball is much easier to dropkick than an American football because it is rounder. American football players used to sometimes hit 60 yard dropkicks a long time ago before they made the ball more oval shaped to make it easier to pass.

There was a video of it. It showed on the local news in LA. In one of his first freshman games in high school he kicked a 58 yarder in the first quarter, then kicked a 57 yarder in the 3rd quarter......and they both cleared with plenty of room to spare. That`s why he`s playing for Boise State now.

There is really nothing fantastic about this video at all. The kid is kicking off a tee with no one rushing him and there is no pressure whatsoever. The reason they kick off from the 30 yard line in college and not from the 50 yard line like this kid is kicking from is because if they kicked from the 50, EVERY single kicker would be putting his kick-offs through the uprights every single time and we would never see a kick-off return.
