Because he`s now a freshman playing football for one of the best college football teams in the nation, the team that has won more games in the last 10 years than any other team.
@angels4acure no hes pro, and i didnt suggest that this isnt impressive :L it definately is, but i was hitting 50-60 in 8th grade however footballs are harder to kick, im not sure about grid iron, do you ever kick from big angles like to the side?
We practice from extreme angles, like from the sideline on the goal line. High school games that play in college or pro stadiums also have to kick through the narrower uprights, but still from the wider high school hash marks.
A Rugby ball is much easier to dropkick than an American football because it is rounder. American football players used to sometimes hit 60 yard dropkicks a long time ago before they made the ball more oval shaped to make it easier to pass.
The video is real, the ball isn't full of helium, he has no need for that. People keep comparing him, to ppl in the NFL and people that are/were in highschool, and in this video he was an eight grader. He doesn't have to lie, look him up, he goes to Boise that's enough proof. P.S. I went to Upland with him that's how I know. Good Shit Jake
There was a video of it. It showed on the local news in LA. In one of his first freshman games in high school he kicked a 58 yarder in the first quarter, then kicked a 57 yarder in the 3rd quarter......and they both cleared with plenty of room to spare. That`s why he`s playing for Boise State now.
There is really nothing fantastic about this video at all. The kid is kicking off a tee with no one rushing him and there is no pressure whatsoever. The reason they kick off from the 30 yard line in college and not from the 50 yard line like this kid is kicking from is because if they kicked from the 50, EVERY single kicker would be putting his kick-offs through the uprights every single time and we would never see a kick-off return.
@cruiseguyhawaii What a dumb comment. Not many 8th grade kickers can do that. My kicker wasn't hitting 60 yard field goals until he was in 9th-10th grade. This kid is doing it when he's what, 13? That's impressive. Thinking anything otherwise is just ignorant.
@cruiseguyhawaii first off the kid is 12 maybe 13 years old. and yes you're right about off a tee and there being no pressure but still think back to when you were 12 years old. You wouldn't be able to do it.
@sh4un1sl33t that wasnt a feild goal. a feild goal is off the ground not off a tee. if nfl players kicked off tees they would make 70 and 80 yard feild goals all the time
@sh4un1sl33t trust he is i used to kick it with him we were in the same class and when this was posted it was summer after 8th grade going into 9th grade
This video is so misleading. As many have said, it is a place kick. On a tee not off the ground. Not that hard to do for any kicker. In fact its below average for a place kick. Search Andre Heidari and see the number one Kicker in the country. He has signed with USC and has the strongest leg in college kicking. A 92% touchback rating.
Really dipshit? Lets do some elementary math. If hes kicking off from the 50 that is 50 yards. Plus the 10 extra that the ball has to travel past the endzone. 50+10=60 There ya go. I hope I made it easy for you. Thumbs up for that idiot!
It's obvious that when the camera moved ahead of the ball, the camera man paused it..then Jake run up to the goal line a threw the ball in the goal post. Photoshop materials all day!
I dont want to take away from his kick at all, but there seems to be a hurricane force wind at his back =) without that he could most likely make a 50 yarder, which is still really good for an 8th grader
@CHSkicker01 In one freshman game a few months later he kicked 58 and 57 yard FG`s......one from the left hash, one from the right. He missed a 63 yarder wide left in another freshman game, and he also put a few kickoffs through the uprights in freshman games......from 70 yards.
@angels4acure Actually, i was proving that he is 16. Not that a 16 yr old can be in college. Of course he could. But, you say it will be 5 years in june. 12+5 = 17. Did u fail math.?
@thatsIFY24 yeah all high school fields are regulation so i dont know what the hell your talking about and even if he was using a tee first of all hes in fricken eighth grade not a 22 year old career kicker, and second he still only uses a three step start so who cares.
@thatsIFY24 Dude what the hell are you talking about. This is at a high school. Its regulation. Who the fuck ever heard of a field like that. Dumbass!
@thatsIFY24 He barely puts any effort into the kick. I assume that if he puts in more force, there wouldn't be any significant difference with the tee or not. Also, he's an eight grader, not an NFL player. Most eight graders look like midgets who haven't gone puberty...
On a side note, how old is he now? Puberty might have made him a genetic beast.
We made it to the championship game two years straight......winning it all last season........and it took Corona Centennial, the #1 team in CA and Top 3 nationally, to knock us off this year.

Well this is believable, and very outstanding...I would love for him to play for my highschool team!
Seems legit, although...
I dont like the fact that the camera passed the football...it makes things look iffy...

@ellocolandfried1595
You obviously didn`t watch it frame by frame. He doesn`t even move till the 04:00 mark, and the ball is kicked before the five second mark.
Did you watch the 58 yarder that he kicked from the left hash in a game a couple months later..............that cleared by 10 yards?
That is proof enough, even for the haters.

Sure.
Go to rogginsheroes . com and search jake.
You`ll see him do it his freshman season when he hit 58 and 57 yarders in the same game.

Gotta do it in full pads for it to matter, but since he's a soccer player I guess he's ignorant to that.
