I honestly think that this was just a bad line up for this song. Having Those three singing along with Takahashi and Niigaki who have rather strong voices wasn't the best decision and then having Tanaka trying to harmonize with Takahashi.... This could have gone over so much better.

and so will the everlasting song of MM - 'Morning coffee' be sung from generation to generation. realy want to see the new members sing Morning Coffee together before Ai Chan leaves!

@deaconkris 2002, 2005&2006 are my favourite years of the group(2005 being when I became a fan) and I still follow Morning Musume because I love them. I think 2008/8 were terrible years for them to be watched live in concert, but you can see from their Fantasy DX concert(which I have on DVD) that Morning Musume's energy is coming back and that concerts are 100x better quality then this.
@luvmaya it's not the energy levels that worry me it;s the fact most of them can;t sing and with Takahashi leaving who is their one good singer unless the 10th generation uncovers an awesome singer they will sound awful live.

This version is really cute, I like it a lot! I think Reina and Ai sounded too different to be melodic, but overall, it was great. Sayu didn't do too bad either! <3<3<3
The one thing thing that annoys me the most, is that Reina sounds so whiny. It doesn't sound cute, and you need to have a power voice, which I know Reina has, but isn't showing. But, Sayumin has improved so much, and Eri, Risa, and Ai were always wonderful. Overall, great performance, but I wish Reina would stop trying to be "cute" and be the Yankii we all know and love.
I think she is trying to appeal to the fans, but I agree it is rather annoying. Eri Risa & Ai are wonderful, Risa's voice is so deep and powerful its just amazing. The performance itself was amazing, but I think Reina should jump off the Koha boat, i mean in Irropi Jerittai Koha's voice was amazing and powerful, but now it is just cute a girly. I think Reina has seen that and has now decided to do the same. She is the Yankii of the group & we LOVE her for it!
At least now that Kirarin Revolution is over, Koharu is trying to return to normal. I just wish Reina would sing like that little eleven year old girl in Shabondama, the one who was always on pitch and equally cute and badass. I think that real Reina fans will follow her no matter what she does to her voice.
Not true at all. If he gets rid of Sayumi, vocally speaking, it wouldn't matter. But if he wanted better vocals he'd break up Tanaka's and Sayu's lines and give some to Linlin. Who would be a SRONG bone if Tsunku would give her lines.
@MMLove801 May I correct you (1 year later)? 2 of the 5 are already graduating. Eri graduated in december and now Ai's graduating in Autumn 2011. There are just 3 members from them now. Morning Musume was good to 2010 for me. 2011 sucks.
Seems like the 5 girls here are what keeping MM going on. Without all 5 of them I wonder what's going to become of MM. The other 4 members doesn't really shine but I like Jun Jun only, that's all.
I think it's because 5th and 6th are the only ones left of the 15 girl line up, where they had the example and influence of SO MANY golden age members. They also had to make themselves interesting to stand out among so many (already popular) girls. They had to work very hard at their idol persona to get a fanbase. With 7th and 8th, that challenge isn't there, as the group is much smaller and it sadly doesn't have the popularity of the past. 7th and 8th don't have an Abe or Goto to compete with.

The only one from the 7/8th gen that stand out the most, at least in my opinion, is Jun Jun. Koharu and Mitsui is okay, but still not comparable to the other girls. Lin Lin is rather pathetic at the moment, she just doesn't seem to have her own personality that makes her anything special. Let's say if one day if all the 5/6th gen were to go, weren't it be weird to have a Chinese being the leader of a Japanese group, assuming Jun Jun being the oldest of the new gen were to take over?
Well everyone is entitled to their opinion. So as for my opinion, Koharu has indeed proven herself and can be comparable to at least to Sayu and Eri. As for Linlin, "pathetic" is anything but the word. For those of us that have seen her in person, she indeed has more of a personality than most of the girls, showcasing her outgoingness and always trying to reach out to the fans. It's because she doesn't have the chance to appeal to the fanbase via shows like H!M. Haromoni didn't show character.
Koharu's not bad too. So far the only 2 that haven't attracted me much yet are Lin Lin and Aika. Jun Jun and Koharu are more entertaining to watch than the other two. Lin Lin always give me the "trying too hard to be over-friendly" kind of impression. I know she's not, but I just feel that way.

Ai takahashi is growing, and i can't bare the fact that she'll have to leave morning musume someday. All in all, she's headed in the right direction and I know she'll be allright after she leaves.
4th gen used to be my fave too. I love their performance of The Peace a lot! But now I'm also starting to like 8th gen as well (but actually the 5th, 6th gen members and junjun only). The new MM may not be the same as in the past but I still find that there is something in them I just can't describe.
i like 5th gen and 6th gen... my fav are Gaki-san [i liked her since she joined MM] and Sayumin [she's just too witty to miss]

this realli is such a great performance though and i love how all the fans go crazy at sayus solo and reina looks realli natural at the end

It's in Tsunku's and MM's best interest if Reina takes the reins as Sub-lead next because it's best to have the up front positions filled with the main singers. When Kaori was leader it was a bit awkward because she didnt play the main vocal role in most of the songs. Risa will most likely and hopefully take up half of Takahashi's lines with Eri taking the others
Leadership in Momusu and most H!P groups is decided by birth date, so if Ai-chan graduated, Risa would be the leader and Eri the subleader, it doesn't matter who's more popular.
That's nice to say really nice. Kaorin was Momosu's longest and most truest leader. She was never the main vocalist but tell me which other member in Momosu can sing in over 4languages and speak 3 of them nearly fluently?
I'm not saying anything bad bout kaorin just sayin that it was awkward that she didnt get alot of main vocal parts as leader. Personally Kaorin is my favorite lead and after her it's takahashi

I really wish these girls had new management when something stays the same for too long things tend to go downhill. Tsunku can't possibly believe he'll be able to write good songs for so many girls. Its not just Momosu its c-ute, berryz koubou and many others. I think the graduation of every Elder Club member next year is going to be proof enough of the fact he can't keep up.
My opinion about the elder club grad is that they are being forced to graduate because H!P just isnt as it used to be and can't support so many people now. Just when Ogawa gets back too...

I'm not contradicting myself. Tsunku says Miki'll be the leader after Yossie 'cause she enter H!P before Eri, Sayu and Reina, even the 4 are from the same generation (6th). That's why I think they use (too) the birth order... and, keeping this on, next leader Risa, and subleader, Eri.
I think it's whoever Tsunku thinks is best for the job will be the leader. I think personally Reina is next in line to be sub-leader. Her and Ai seem to be the ones seem to sing the most singing.

I loved Risa and Eri doing this but the other three. Sayumi was a lot better than I thought but for some reason Reina's voice does go well with this song for me. I guess i just like the original better.

Amazing preformance by everyone.
Ai takahashi is growing, and i can't bare the fact that she'll have to leave morning musume someday. All in all, she's headed in the right direction and I know she'll be allright after she leaves.

it's good that MM still survives after the so called "golden era" [I'm a 4th Gen fan XD]

4th gen used to be my fave too. I love their performance of The Peace a lot! But now I'm also starting to like 8th gen as well (but actually the 5th, 6th gen members and junjun only). The new MM may not be the same as in the past but I still find that there is something in them I just can't describe.

i like 5th gen and 6th gen... my fav are Gaki-san [i liked her since she joined MM] and Sayumin [she's just too witty to miss]
I'm ok with 7th gen, and still trying to get a feel on 8th gen... coz i feel like 8th gen hasn't get enough spotlight [even though they had a really big intro because 2 out of the 3 are Chinese, but thats all, i don't see them doing much in MM]

i love this song.TANAKA REINA ROXS.and i heard the reason why a lot of the old member are leaving is because they have no more money to keep them around o.o is this true cuz i was so sad when they took out kago ai and tsuji and i'm gonna miss a lot of the ones from morning musume's golden era! but long live hello!project and MM
it seems that since ai takahashi is the leader the most popular(they sing the most) right now are ai tanaka and koharu i dnt love koharu i lyk risa better

I think by the older members leaving is the graduation of the ENTIRE elder club; Iida, Yossie, Mikitty, Nacchi and many others.

hmmm... I will miss Morning Musume's Golden era... where it starts from 5 girls in 1998... then up to 16 girls in 2003~2004...

this realli is such a great performance though and i love how all the fans go crazy at sayus solo and reina looks realli natural at the end
and something which ive noticed recently is that yeah sayu has worked real hard on her voice but also i think she is more confident and therefore sings more openly if you look at her singing a few years before you can see her looking uncomfortable/nervous singing her lines
she looks alot more relaxed now

obviously gaki will be leader next and i realli hope eri is then leader and sayu is sub leader cuz as much as i like reina sayu is works sooooooo hard!!! she is so good these days and you can see it in performances like this and her solo furusato she needs more lines in the singles now i LOVE her!!
ai is still my favourite though her voice is like silk and shes sex on legs =pp

Also We've all noticed that after members would graduate and make solo albums they wouldnt sell that great in accordance to MM so i think it's in H!P's best interest to keep Ai in MM for as long as possible

Yeah. Suzuki Airi and 5th and 6th gens of Morning Musume. That's about all they'll have left. I wonder what Tsunku's planning. Perhaps they will have auditions in 2010.

It's in Tsunku's and MM's best interest if Reina takes the reins as Sub-lead next because it's best to have the up front positions filled with the main singers. When Kaori was leader it was a bit awkward because she didnt play the main vocal role in most of the songs. Risa will most likely and hopefully take up half of Takahashi's lines with Eri taking the others

Leadership in Momusu and most H!P groups is decided by birth date, so if Ai-chan graduated, Risa would be the leader and Eri the subleader, it doesn't matter who's more popular.

That's nice to say really nice. Kaorin was Momosu's longest and most truest leader. She was never the main vocalist but tell me which other member in Momosu can sing in over 4languages and speak 3 of them nearly fluently?

Ah ok. Sorry if I seemed mean I just really love Kaorin. I suppose we can blame Tsunku for the main vocal thing. I really wish these girls had new management when something stays the same for too long things tend to go downhill. Tsunku can't possibly believe he'll be able to write good songs for so many girls. Its not just Momosu its c-ute, berryz koubou and many others. I think the graduation of every Elder Club member next year is going to be proof enough of the fact he can't keep up.

My opinion about the elder club grad is that they are being forced to graduate because H!P just isnt as it used to be and can't support so many people now. Just when Ogawa gets back too...

Not to mention that considering how almost every member had been under Kaorin's lead at some point. Yuu-chan is everyone's leader. Kaorin was nearly every Momosu's leader. Yossie was a good leader. Ai-chan's not bad either. If Reina or Risa are the leader/subleader then things will remain good but I don't see Ai-chan graduating anytime soon.

Nope. Think of how many members left before Kaori when she was leader. I say if Ai leaves we have nothing to really worry about cause she will most likely become a really good solo artist (If she doesn't I'll cry).

I don't think so. Tanaka will be next subleader, because, I do like Kamei, but I think Tanaka is more popular.
Sayu is older than Tanaka, but I dont think she'll be subleader after Eri.

It doesn't matter... MM always depends of the birth order (and generation order) to decide the next leader and sub-leader; that's why Mikkity was the leader after Yossie... and she was a 6th generaion member, and Ai-chan, a 5th...

I'm not contradicting myself. Tsunku says Miki'll be the leader after Yossie 'cause she enter H!P before Eri, Sayu and Reina, even the 4 are from the same generation (6th). That's why I think they use (too) the birth order... and, keeping this on, next leader Risa, and subleader, Eri.

I think it's whoever Tsunku thinks is best for the job will be the leader. I think personally Reina is next in line to be sub-leader. Her and Ai seem to be the ones seem to sing the most singing.

wow im in the minority on this one. after watching the whole concert a few times this is quite possibly my least favorite cover.
I loved Risa and Eri doing this but the other three. Sayumi was a lot better than I thought but for some reason Reina's voice does go well with this song for me. I guess i just like the original better.

This was such a cute performance! I really liked Gaki, Ai, and Sayu in this.
Ai and Reina's harmonies sounded weird...maybe because their voices are different?
