i got the privilege of stepping inside the cockpit of 9M-MTC (the 3rd one) while flying from KL to Melbourne, the staff members were really friendly, and as an aircraft enthusiast, this new Airbus A330 is really something
I have travelled with Malaysia Airlines on many, many occasions, fron Sydney to KL and Kuching. Travelling through Asia , I would not fly with any other airlines, they are the best and I look forward to the introduction of the A330 from Sydney to KL.
so sad seeing our National airline going from cheap to cheaper. Looks like the designer is a fresh graduate from college, to save cost from hiring a better but costlier designer
I wonder why they chose PW4068s as the powerplants. Honestly these engines are DAMN loud, I'd rather take the train. They should have chosen the Rolls-Royce Trent 700EP, which is far lighter, stronger, more economically-friendly, and QUIETER.

@tithm9 don't you see in this video clip they are receiving their NEW aircraft? The same complaints has been spreaded over years but MH has actually had some of their A333 and B738 replaced to all new aircrafts. And soon they will have their A380s by 2012. Change of new seats. Change of new livery. Entire fleet renewal. Change of new cabin staff's uniform. New AVOD. New premium check in lounge. New premium economy class on their A380. @takidedo87 Do you even know what your talking about? This IS their new livery, This IS their new cabin as far as business and economy!! This new cabin just came out on their a330 in the last year or so. It is BRAND NEW! MH is not going to create a new seat and a new livery in 2012 which is a year away when they just did this in 2011!! The only upgrade that will most likely happen is a new first class and new premium economy, but that doesn't change the fact that their business and economy suck!
Their First, Business & Economy is nowhere near par with the other 7 airlines. Most others upgraded to suites on First. This new business class looks about the same as any other 3 or 4 star airline (not 5 star worthy). I must admit however the new economy looks fairly nice (Like a mix of Qatar/Thai airways) which is always nice. However, their service is very nice which is about the only thing that is letting them get a 5 star rating. IMO, this once great airline should be downgraded to 4 stars.
Their aim to be the best airlines in the Asia Pacific Region by 2015? that's a joke right? Good luck with that! Ever heard of SQ, CX, IT, OZ, KE, TG, QF, NZ. (IMO all 7 of those airlines I mentioned are better than MH in the Asia Pacific currently) I don't dislike MH, There used to be a time about 5-7 years ago where I would have said MH was better than all 7 of those other airlines but over time they have not upgraded their aging fleet or their onboard product. Been on it :P pretty good, economy seats on bottom slide out a bit, rather comfortable you can have your ipod on charge which is good, bigger touch screens :P
I've never travelled with this airline, but have heard great things about them. The Asians really understand the concept of customer service that is lacking in Europe and the US.
Im from Malaysia, and i want to ask a question. What is meant by FLARE?? that is from aircraft right? I want to be a pilot oneday, InsyaAllah :) And for my eyes, what is the power for me to able to be a pilot??
Although I have to agree the old livery looks more classy, but MH's new livery looks dynamic and young, as it represents a remarkable entire fleet renewal program by MH. By year 2015 i think the entire fleet would be A380, A330, B772 and B738? I hope they consider of ordering the B773 :) Go MH
don't judge by its cover, MH will grow up further and wake up from its previous financial crisis..i'm proud to hear about MH future planning to be the 1st in Asia, and I will always support MH for it..eventhough MH didn't win any major accolades in Paris Air Show 2011, but it doesn't a matter..further journey of this Malaysian carrier will be enlightened by its new aircraft products of A380, B737-800, A330-300.. I love MH!
im working in the automotive industry. That white paint usually consider as the cheapest paint. thats why the white coloured car usually will become dull after few years. because it's solid not metallic.
@nigelpang88 it may look simple...but i dont think it looks cheap/budget...i have no idea of which part of the new livery represents the 'cheap' kind of look...=)
@nigelpang88 how would u characterize Lufthansa, Air france and all other simple world known airlines with dominant white colour? on top of all, cheap is not a correct word to describe after all. plus, how interesting to know u have the capability to characterize airlines livery whether they r cheap or not....nice...anyway up to u. peace out~
