Google has successfully conned the public. We the people have left other email carriers because our information was public and came to Google. Google is making money from all the apps, advertising, but became greedy and preyed upon the people by exposing their browsing habits and personal information. You provide as much spam now as hotmail. Google is in violation of anti trust laws and the constitution. You will ultimately lose the public trust and go down. I encourage adblock for all.

I didn't mind the ads in my gmail page, ON THE SIDE, when I was reading my emails.

Now, on a new accout on gmail, I have the annoying ads on top. ALL THE TIME. Yeah, I can "disable it" but, hey, we will show some ads nonetheless.

It's like a button that don't do anything.

Tbh I think gizmodo blew this up a bit really. Im not going to get hot and bothered about a few ads on google search which Im never going to look at anyway. On a browser where at the click of a button I can block most ads on the web anyway this doesnt worry me a huge amount.

This is what sets Google apart from the likes of Bing / Facebook / Yahoo. Transparency and control. And for those who really want no ads at all - anywhere, there's a Chrome extension called AdBlock which works very well, and lets you decide which domain you wish to see ads on, if any. Love Google!
