Wow, you definitely touched a nerve. I am a huge fan of Davey Wavey, but only started watching him recently & he now seems to give off a lot of postive views and touches gay rights subjects. Giggitygoo does not speak for all his fans, you have freedom of speech, and I can see on an emotional day how a light piece, a parody might fall short of the solidarity that the community needs or that you expected. I think he does help the gay community by being him. He doesn't focus on politics but on people as a whole really. He never openly talks of polotics but he does talk of loving everyone gay and straight. Maybe he is just going at this at a different angle. He has the right to remove comments, maybe blocking was a bit extreme but he is ALLOWED TO.

AGREE! I am a very big and vocal gay rights supporter and i'm not gay. I don't care if he doesn't "agree" with gay marriage, its not the point. I think Davey just has his own way. I've had people ask me how much I'm involved in the community... Well, not much at all, but I'm Trans and am still currently serving my country. I reach out to people one at a time and on a level of friendship. Once they get to know me then they tend to skew their views. Even if it's a small, it's something. In all honestly, my current fight is to protect our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

I think Davey, through his entertainment, gets the point of equality across. and it's far more enjoyable and almost more educational that just sitting there and spilling out facts and rants about equality. We've been doing that forever and it isn't working. I think Davey is reaching out to people who don't want to sit there and listen to you rant. he chooses to fight in other ways. and the fact that you don't get that is kind of sad.
Let's get one thing straight, I do not believe that he should've gone as far as to ban you. I think he does help the gay community by being him. He doesn't focus on politics but on people as a whole really. He never openly talks of polotics but he does talk of loving everyone gay and straight. Maybe he is just going at this at a different angle. I think Davey just has his own way. I've had people ask me how much I'm involved in the community... Well, not much at all, but I'm Trans and am still currently serving my country. I reach out to people one at a time and on a level of friendship. Once they get to know me then they tend to skew their views. Even if it's a small, it's something. I think Davey, through his entertainment, gets the point of equality across. and it's far more enjoyable and almost more educational that just sitting there and spilling out facts and rants about equality. BUT do You know why Davey can be so openly gay, supported and loved ? Its because of all those people who spoke out, started rallies even faced violence to fight for his right to do so. Not just people within the gay community do this. I feel with such an important subject as the fight for equal rights, Davey could have at least made his fans aware. If he was more vocal about equal rights, maybe they will be too.

Simply, as an activist, I would like to see him tackle some issues about equality, but if all he has are simple videos about light and fluffy things then I wonder when he's gonna tackle the realities of gay adoption bans, court losses for marriage, hate crimes, etc. And I'm sure Jay faces that reality on the job so don't you dare insult him!

I can understand why you're pissed off but you must understand that Davey Wavey does not have to be an activist just because you would like him to be, and it seems a little bit ridiculous that you are attacking him for that.
Him blocking you seems a bit weird and extreme, but at the same time, he's allowed to.

I like to socialise with people just like him. I dont feel that just because somebody is gay and popular it should follow that they support or partake in gay activism.
And secondly I choose to see positive things every day. If he was supporting gay rights i would stop watching..

I don't feel Davey Wavey needs to include anything regarding the gay rights movement. His blog is for entertainment, for fun. Just because he is gay, doesn't mean he has to be a gay activist, no matter how many subscribers he has. Besides, his blog is not solely for gay viewers. I do agree that it was wrong to remove your comment & block you...but I'm still a fan of his.

He can hold his views without being slagged by a political Gay....its his channel....I'm older than you and have been involved in the gay rights struggle since 1968 as a teenager...through the fight for recognition and equality and the struggle for Gays in the Military & gay civil partnerships and adoption rights....that has been my choice...we fight for the rights of gays to either be part of the struggle or NOT.!!!

Hmm. I'm not a huge Davey Wavey fan, but I question why he has to make the same choices on his channel as you make on yours. If visibility is the greatest weapon in the gay rights arsenal, then isn't he 1000 times more important than someone invisible? You may not think that his topics are as significant as yours, but he is a gay man bravely showing himself to the world.
Although he is not a drag queen, he is in the tradition of those whose flamboyance is a kind of flaming sword on our side.

I think its a matter of the way he wants his channel to be presented & his may be to entertain/make people feel safe. I watch his videos, & I see that his concern is making the gay community feel like they have a channel to watch that is safe, something they can come to to feel better about themselves. Sure, its not well-rounded, & that may anger you, but you have your channel & he has his. Him blocking you was, however, very immature, even if he wants a certain feel to his channel, it is rude.

It's entertainment, like you said. He probably deleted the comment to prevent any drama. In a lot of his videos, there is an underlying message of equality and love. In my opinion, he doesn't need to come right out and make an angry video about the banning of gay marriage. Maybe he doesn't want to make videos about anger...? You said that you believe in freedom of speech, and forcing someone to say certain things and endorse certain things just because you want them to is not freedom of speech.

@depfox You obviously haven't done your research. The topics on Davey's videos on youtube consists: life, fitness, men, and penises. He doesn't have to talk about marriage equality just because he's gay. If you look at his blog: Break the Illusion, the topics there consist mostly of equal rights. Davey cares about the fun side of life, but if you look deeper he also cares about his community. It's wrong to pass judgment when you don't have a clue of what your talking about.

I made a simple comment on one of his videos about marriage equality and his response to me was to remove the comment and block me....We all have a right to live our lifes as we want. I think you're way out of line with your comments about Davey. Davey doesn't owe you or anyone else an explanation for his actions. You can be disappointed with him all you want. It's always but only always, about them. Who knows, he might have unblocked you later or he may have been open to receiving a message in private from you.

I watch Davey Wavey's videos for entertainment, even then he can be annoying. I'm not sure him supporting a cause would really help that cause. All one needs to do is watch his videos about how "we're all connected" and the universe speaks to us and has a plan for us, etc. That nonsense may even be worse than the drivel known as astrology. I can only question the intelligence of someone who takes such things seriously. He should stick to what he's good at: entertainment.

This is why I stopped watching users like davey, gdprophet and centerfold. Aside from Centerfold who has entertaining and thoughtful videos even if they are atheistically driven... they tend to just either be sugary sweet with everything or they ignore it. Does no one realize that we are locked in a hardcore fight for our rights? Its nothing to be passe about in my opinion. When we censor our fellow gays... its a sad thing.
