I just broke my 3rd pair. Everyone of mine though broke where the cable goes in the headphones. I opened the cups, soldered off the cable, cut the cable then soldered it back on but seems the headphone cables nowadays are not like the old ones. Once these cables break its like they are done and cannot be repaired :( I REALLY like these headphone, but I think I am going to start looking at other brands unfortunately :(
@AsianMarck Hopefully they're not, but be careful with them either way, don't bend the chord too much close to the jack! They should have the different colors over there too... thought KOSS was an american company?
@Ajnav Yeeaaa... from what I've read on the internet KOSS is an American company, but looking around the interwebs again I think Porta Pros are particularly popular in Scandinavian countries and that is why you guys have different colors. The only recent different color here was the Porta Pro 25th Anniversary Edition which is all-black.
@AsianMarck hey man can u tell me is this headphone really gr8 for music n compare to sony headphone which one will be gr8 ..koss or sony plss reply me soon n thx for reading mate thx.
The connector on mine broke while in my iPod(metal part actually came out); I replaced it with an aftermarket jack and then a couple months later, the cord at the speaker came loose, where I just sent it in for repair/replacement. Got to love the warranty. Though, I must say they lasted pretty long considering the abuse I put them through.
Did you ordered all of yours from Swedish sites? I've been thinking of getting another set(diff. color would be nice) and just having it re-cabled.
the mini jack plug and the wire is a standard problem vit porta pro i have the porta pro and i use the speakers in a Sony MDR-ZX300 and now i must change the wire because it`s broken so i gonna use the cable from my htc headsett.... sorry my bad english
I have the same problem with my Porta pro. I have two with the same problem, i am thinking in not buying those anymore. The sound is great, but they are so fragile. Next time, i go for AKG.
Same here! Actually I've bought KOSS Porta Pro's maybe 5 times because of that problem. Got new ones (couple of times) when I sent those to repair. But now the last ones (White, with different cord) got broken very quick! :/ I would really like to know what this "No Questions Asked - Lifetime Warranty" means, cause everytime I need to pay something (postage), or I need to show some proof that I've bought them etc.. I believe it depends where you live how easy that warranty works..?
Thanks so much for your video. It is great. You have some terrific thoughts and experiences with the Porta Pro that we can learn from and I appreciate your insight.
The company features a Lifetime Warranty on the Porta Pro. I would like to help get your stereophones repaired for you right away.

I ordered a pair of these a few days ago. I hope they are not a part of a manufacturing problem that seem to have plagued yours.
And those red/black and all-black ones are sick. I wish they had different colors in the States.
