@SargentandGreenLeaf Being late on the tree doesn't affect the ET. The timer doesn't start until he breaks the beams by moving forward. He could sit there for 20 seconds the next run, and still run about the same.
@SquirrelSteele not really i have yet to see one for less than $2500 in good conditions, you will find one but really beat up as in the paint is messed up or with mechanical problems or you just need to put it together, about 3 years ago when i bought mine for $2500 they were cheaper then they are now but i still never saw a good one right at 2k but i got lucky and found mine in good shape for $2500. But it is the cheapest race car imo and easy to work on.
im not trying to argue just saying that you can do anything to a motor with the right amount of money... like ive got a 1990 acura integra thats built and ive also got a 1991 z28 camaro convertible that has double the horsepower and my integra is still faster in a qaurter mile and they are both full interior my camaro ran a 14.7 at 105 aand my integra ran 14.2 at 113

majority of v8s are overhead cams now no pushrods, why would they change the design of a pushrod if it was so "bulletproof"?

@queensny1991 I guess it's cheaper to design a new motor than redesign an old one for more fuel efficiency? That's why Ford quit making the 460 in the late 90's. Also, Cummins is pushrod and nothing matches the reliability of one. My dad's Cummins has almost 200,000 miles on it and has 500+ horsepower.

@TVRnGTR The Fox name was the name used internally by Ford in the late 70's when it was being designed. Basically the designers of the Fox chassis based it loosely off the early 70's Audi Fox suspension and chassis setup to be used as an all new platform for multiple models. The first Fox chassis cars were the 1978 Ford Fairmont and Mercury Zephyr. Both 4-door sedans. A year later Ford had shortened the chassis and put out the all new for 79 Mustang.
