@11RRobbins try not to bend your arm when you throw and keep focused on a high level surface, thats what my coach tells me. ive seen a guys through 170 ft. just cause they threw right through the point.

@lightbulb1121 , lol well go do it then and see how far you throw. A lot of theses guys are throwing well over 75 meters. A lot of Division 1 schools only throw around 55-70 meters. And you can def tell who is knew just by there form and distance. Most people who begin I bet only throw around 38 to 45 meters. I've been throwing for only 2 years and I'm at 55 meters, however I'm more of a discus guy, 57.3

I was throwing 60 when i was 17 with the 800g, im now 24 and about 25kgs of lean muscle mass making me roughly 6"3' 107kg after 5 years of powerlifting and weigh training. I am also 3 times the strength i used to be. Im going to take it up again.. how far do you think i could be throwing in a year with dedication?...

@Enandor ive been to two training sessions this week and im feeling pretty good. was hitting nearly 50 from 1 step throw. i understand what you mean, although surely the extra weight and strength will play some part in the future. dude 60m was stuff all in Australia then, I was up against guys in my state that were throwing close to 70 and world junior champs were hitting 70+... either way im super focused now, also back then i was doing absolutely no weight trainning.. will see what happens...

@ahrberg16 I played QB in highschool and was up around 65 yards with a football, i thought the same thing thats why i throw jav now, and about the only things that translate into javelin are arm strength/speed, I'm in my 2nd year and I'm just now getting the thing past 60 yards but having a pure arm does help. @LPfanatic578 If you're looking for more arm speed find a bungee cord, tie one end to a fence, grab the other end and use the cord to do your throwing motion. Use both arms though cause you don't wanna look like quagmire from family guy when he discovered internet porn. A medicine ball works wonders too
