  • Thank you for sharing how to use silicone release paper. Your video was very informative, interesting and well done.

  • Hi, I found this tutorial very useful since I cannot do wet mouting. One query- how does this silicon paper cost? is it possible to use it for large paiintings? Is it easily available? thanks for the great demo.

  • You may visit my eBay store for retail price ($9.99 per yard) and place your order. My ebay ID: greetingland and store id blueheronartscom (see video description for a direct link).

  • Hi, Thanks for your prompt reply. I would love to buy the paper from you. what would be the price with shipping to wellington , new zealand. Also Can I use this paper to mount large paintings?

  • USPS First Class Mail International 14.99 flat for up to 5 yard. Yes, you can mount large painting without having to post it onto a board to dry. So it is much easier than wet mounting. The width is 36".

  • Thank you very much for this video, I had no idea how to go about mounting or flattening my paintings.

  • thanks so much, i was trying to figure out how dry mount paper was used.

  • I tried your rice paper today - I found it a bit difficult to iron out the creases LOL I ended up making more.

  • The Japanese rice paper is very thin. Some tips for you:

1)Put some fabric on your table and then above that 2 layers of heavy paper like poster paper.

2)Increase the presure and heat gradually. Set it on "ryan". I will do some more demo later. You learn by doing it.

  • Have you see my latest demo? You may spray the original painting evenly with water, wait for a few minutes to let lt spread out, then iron it onto the silicone paper very gentally with a used silicone paper covering it. Don't press the iron.

  • very cool

  • By the way, when would you use dry mounting and when wet mounting?

  • Good question! If you use western watercolor pigments on rice paper they would bleed when wet mounting so dry mounting would avoid such problem with color or ink bleeding. Some rice paper are very thin and maybe too fragile to wet mount. If you are in a hurry, dry mounting takes less time than wet mounting.

  • I have been looking for this idea. Thanks a lot. I used to use watercolourpaper but that does not accept the ink properly like shuen paper. Thanks for showing me an easy way to mount ACEOs

  • I usually use dry mounting on hard backing material where wet-mounting is not possible. For small pieces like ACEOs dry mounting is much easier to do than wet mounting. If you want to give it a try I can sell some silicone release paper to you. Please check my eBay store later.
