She brought me up backstage and onstage when she did a concert in Limerick and I got to wear the jacket she wore in Eurovision 1993!! No joke I have the photos to prove it :D She's genuinely one of the nicest people I've ever had the honour of meeting :))

There's something horribly Westlifey, sentimental, and turgid about this song. In your eyes on the other hand was an excellent song, it had a real live band, it was soulful and had pathos. The contrast between the two songs couldn't be more marked.

Amazing. Saying that she's the best vocalist this year would be a huge understatement. She doesn't need any choreography, she doesn't need to move at all, she just needs to walk out on the stage, open her mouth and release her beautiful voice. It's just unfortunate that her song is not more memorable. I definitely have to look up her other work.

Niamh is fantastic as usual but what is the point of the backing singers? They look like statues!. Disappointed that there appears to be nothing imaginative going on in the background. RTE don't appear to have learned the lesson that it is a 3 minute show that needs to be novel and eye catching in a 25 song final (think she will definitely make the final). My worry is that if this gets allocated a bad place bang in the middle of a load of other ballads then I fear it might get forgotten?

@mollyds To be honest it isnt a great song. Its a very typical pop ballad, typical chords, the transposition at the end. It doesnt really differ from any other pop ballad and therefore probably wont stand out much on the night. I do agree that she is a good singer, but her singing most certainly cannot be compared to the vocal abilities of Whitney Houston! As an Irish person I would like to see Ireland win, but Im very doubtful that its going to happen this year, or anytime soon for that matter

This must be my fortieth time hearing this masterpiece and it just gets better, everytime I hear it. Loved it the first time I heard it and am playing it on my iPod all the time now.
