  • This man is a true Gentleman.... Glad my Club is in the hands of this guy

  • He will be the best thing ever happened to Liverpool... He will help end our drout.. Maybe not this year... But next

  • I dont wanna jinx anything but this John (same name as me :D ) seems actually to care about our beloved club. Thank you for getting King Kenny the manager position, thank you for buying some long term players and thank you getting rid of the deadwood. He seems really down to earth and it seems that he is actually proud to be a part of our great club!

  • @Holomatchi Dont be naive. He is a businessman. Pure and simple.

  • Comment removed

  • Best owners the RedSox have ever had. Wishing Liverpool FC Well!

  • 5. He doesn't meddle his front office, he hires people and let's them do their jobs.

All this considered things still go back to number one, he's not afraid to spend money, I could literally name at least £200-250 Million of TERRIBLE contracts since he's taken over, more if you count this seasons TERRIBLE performance by a new £90 Million+ signing, but you obviously take the bad with the good as long as the good continues to come. And with the exception of this year, it has.

  • 4. He seems distant from the club and it's troubles, after the Red Sox (who were being talked about as literally one of the best teams of all time pre season) just completed the worst collapse in the last month of the season OF ALL TIME there was huge talks about changing managers and the front office. When the manager was let go he wasn't at the press conference with either him or the front office to show the fan's there would be a concerted effort to fix the failure.

  • 3. The reason for number 2 is because he's placed his trust in the wrong people, people who are not and have not been around the game of baseball and just generally don't know what they're doing, people who reject what one can see with their naked eye in favor of theories gathered from statistics. (Read As - They get their free agent signings and transfer moves from a computer program named 'Carmine' that analyzes statistics to determine who the best player is)

    (continued again)

  • As a Red Sox fan I can tell everyone a few absolutes about the Red Sox since he's taken over.

    1. Deep pockets, not afraid to spend, you may think he's already proven that but he's just beginning believe me, when I say he isn't afraid to spend money I mean he has NO PROBLEM spending money.

    2. Bad contracts are aplenty, you obviously get some of these if you're not afraid to spend money, but there have been some serious head scratchers since he's taken over Boston.

    (continued)

  • Modern day football players salary are too high.these idiots should pay the players at least 800000 to 2000000 a year or have a salary cap. That way the owners make money, players with good salary, and good. And fair ticket prices

  • this man is lordhenry.

  • I don't get how Germans can have Oktoberfest and all-standing sections in stadiums and financially viable football clubs while the English are struggling to do the same. Obviously there's something to be learned off the Germans, isn't it?

  • My respect for this man continues to grow. Destined to be involved with Liverpool. Really understands the Liverpool way. Looking forward to good things. YNWA

  • This KoptitP25050505 guy is embarrassing us Liverpool fans on here. His opinions do not reflect the overall majority of us Liverpool fans. This guy talks out of his arsehole. No wonder because he's 22 years old.

  • @carpdiem88 Hey you im 22 and i think he is talking out his ass to lol although i can understand some of his points but i think the club is moving forward and good times are ahead with John and Fenway sports grp. YNWA!

  • Kopitep, u silly retard. He's a business man and has obviously gone in to make money, but from what we've all seen ( Suarez and Carroll ) he knows he has to spend money to make money, he will spend big in the summer

  • @adamb568 He's not a Liverpool person so has no right to be in Liverpool FC. Fuck money, football is not a business!

  • John W Henry you legend. Andy Carrol and Suarez were his first buys and he bought King Kenny back. We will be back in the champions League very soon. The title will also be there too. This guy is a legend in the making. He will build the squad and develop Anfield. YNWA Mr Henry

  • @Charleswalsh2007 Fuck off you gullible moron. John Henry is a capitalist twat just like Hicks and Gillett. The only difference is he watches his words and doesn't make promises. But he doesn't see the club as a fan does, he sees it as a toy for him to own and play with. The only way to restore our club to greatness is to get rid of John Henry and all the cunts at board room level. The fans should own the club, no-one else - power to the people!

    FUCK MODERN FOOTBALL!

  • @KopiteP250505 shut up you idiot. Go research the guy first.

  • @Ferret9T2 He's an American, capitalist businessman. That's all the research needed, John Henry needs to fuck off.

    POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

  • @KopiteP250505 An American businessman who turned the no-name Boston Red Sox into a perennial World Series contender in a few years flat by making smart investments in players and choosing to focus on the club first. His business model wiped away Liverpool's debts, unloaded a useless striker in Fernando Torres and using the money gained from that transfer brought in two young, fresh players who have already produced results under a manager they now trust. John Henry is saving this club.

  • @patient451 First of all, I don't give a shit about any baseball team, it's a shit sport so don't waste my time talking about the Red Sox when they have fuck all to do with anything Football related. There are more important things in football than winning trophies. Football is a religion, it's tribal and it's about pride in your club, in your community. John Henry is not a Liverpool person so he shouldn't have any say in LFC. Football is not a fuckin business, it's a way of life. YANKS OUT!

  • @KopiteP250505 Don't be so thick skulled. It's Henry's track record with the Sox that was the point, not the baseball club itself. You're daft if you think football is purely about pride and community support. What do you think BUYS those players on that pitch? Football is a business like every other professional sport on this planet. Deny it all you want but that man just cleared several hundred million dollars worth of debt from LFC's name and is bringing in talent to restore their brand.

  • @patient451 'brand'... fuck off. You don't have a clue what you're talking about, that's clear. Buy players... Barcelona is 100% fan owned and they have the greatest club side the world has ever known - how do they buy players? Through revenue you tit! The fans should own the club, we are the only ones who have the best interest of the club at heart. Liverpool is a socialist place, we don't like capitalist twats with lots of money like Henry. The true, hardcore Scouse fanatics want him out.

  • @KopiteP250505 Harsh reality time - Liverpool is NOT Barcelona, and is NOT fan owned. Deal with the fact that Henry is the owner and the Liverpool board put him there when they forced the sale to FSG. Beat your chest to the ideals of fan ownership all you want, John Henry is LFC's owner and there's no denying that he single-handedly salvaged the club from the debacle that Hicks and Gillett put it in. Revenue alone wasn't going to do that, you think Liverpool makes $400 million in revenue without

  • @KopiteP250505 being some sort of business? LFC was in the hole deep and Henry solved that. He also made a wise investment in Dalglish, dumped useless Torres and brought in better players for it. Hate him all you want - he's not going anywhere. I think you'll find more people are pleased with him than you think, your Scouse fanatics want what's best for their club and that crippling debt wasn't it. Chill out and accept reality.

  • @patient451 He didn't dump Torres, he didn't bring in better players. That had fuck all to do with him, it was Dalglish who brought them in and it wasn't Henry's money, it was the money from the Torres and Babel transfers. Liverpool fans will own the club one day, there might be a load of twats in our support nowadays but people like me who go to every game and who fight for the club's reputation will oust him. I'm a Kopite... you have absolutely no idea what that means and you never will!!!

  • @KopiteP250505 Your a disgrace to Liverpool football club. not all want him out, as you dont notice he has gathered advice from both supporters and past players and even past managers. Whilst a Liverpool Fan like you who thinks of his own interests of the club and no one elses, you want to give are club a 'Bad Name' making people think that we are 'bad people' who want to run out such a good source to get us to the top of europe again. John Henry deserves more respect than that. YNWA

  • @ElNinoHDx You need to wake up lad. He has no right to be makin' decisions about LFC cos' he doesn't know enough about us. People like you are the reason that are fans are shite nowadays, you have no pride. Football has been destroyed!

Football needs the terraces brought back, ticket prices lowered and heavy financial restrictions placed upon transfer budgets and players wages. All clubs should be 100% fan-owned, no sugar-daddies. That's the only way football will restore it's greatness.

  • @KopiteP250505 I have more pride than you, i believe in this guy, He has the logic to make us great, i just reckon that some liverpool fans like you who are inconsiderate will hinder the club and make decisions for themselves and themselves only ! john hneyr is doing what right for everyone, so give over ! get behind them ! get behind what we have now. !

  • @ElNinoHDx He's a capitalist - capitalism has ruined football. Liverpool is a socialist city.

Liverpool fans as a whole are an embarrassment nowadays. Due to morons like you who have no vision of how things should be - all clubs should be fan-owned, fans are the ONLY people who have the best interests of their club at heart. People like John Henry just look to rob the working-class, watch how ticket prices will continue to rise you gullible cunt!!!

Where are you from out of interest?

  • @KopiteP250505 shut your fucking mouth! dont call anyone an embaresment have you ever actualy been to a liverpool match at home in anfield?

  • @20stafford09 I haven't missed a match home or away for almost the last 5 years in all competitions. I've got a season ticket on the Kop, so don't even dream of asking me if I've been to Anfield. I was born in L4. I'm trying to argue for fans like you to have all the say in how our club's run... which would lead to cheaper ticket prices, better atmospheres. And you're arguing against those things? D'you realise how backward that makes you look lad, as a 'fan'? Wake up!

    POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

  • @KopiteP250505 Cheaper tickets means less income for the club, I would like a mix of the two. I would happily pay money towards the club just like Barcelona does, but it wouldn't hurt having an owner that is a billionaire at the same time.

  • @MrNinjaSpartan Look at the bigger picture you fuckin moron. The national government needs to introduce caps on prices clubs can charge for tickets, what they can spend on players wages and transfers. There needs to be strict laws in place to get rid of a huge amount of money in football. It needs injecting with a great deal of Socialism.

People like John Henry, capitalist scum are ruining this world, as well as ruining football. It's dying a slow and painful death.

  • @KopiteP250505 Don't be a fucktard.

  • @KopiteP250505 look mate, i hear what your saying, believe me, but the thing here is, if Liverpool is fan owned, and is the only fan owned club in the league, we would be in a bad way compared to these other clubs. In that sense we should be thankful Henry is willing to splash the cash for us to come up again. At least he brought back Kenny and that has put the club back in service. I know what you are trying to say, but lets not focus on the ifs and whats. But on the how we can use this to win

  • @nikz200 It wouldn't be just Liverpool if central government did the right thing and made it a legal requirement for fans to own a part or all of their club. That way it would be every club. Football has been ruined over the last two decades, it's becoming a money-spending competition. There is no pride in winning the league just because your sugar-daddy opened his chequebook wider than other sugar-daddies. And ticket prices continue to rise, how long before ALL proper fans are forced out?

  • @KopiteP250505 Perhaps, but will the central government do that? Why would they when this sort of thing improves the economy and increases spending? It benefits them. You are right, money has ruined alot of what football is meant to be.Heart, passion, and grit. And yes, ticket prices do rise. But ask yourself this mate. What choice does anyone have? How about the people on the grounds?thecoaching staff? How will they bepaid? Also, i love Liverpool fc, so i have to appreciate Henry,

  • @KopiteP250505 if it means survival in this cold league which will not change as it is right now.

  • @nikz200 Once all the proper fans are forced out, then it's time for the club to be closed down for good and confined to history, cos' a club without it's fans is nothing. Liverpool FC isn't Liverpool FC any more. It's ran by fuckin outsiders who just want to rob us and then ban us when we act like proper fans! Fuck all the rich cunts - power to the people.

  • @KopiteP250505 Jhon wants the best for our club i say judge him on what he does hes spending money on players (lots of it) putting money into our youth setup to the point Becalona couch pep gudiola says liverpool is the only youth academy barcalona fears at the moment and stateing that whats going on at our youth system is breathtaking and its the only one he rates as highly as barcalonas. We will have anfield extended or have a new one completly built. King kenny likes him then so do i !!! YNWA

  • @artydean2 Ticket prices continue to go up and up - John Henry wants people like me (proper fans) banned from the stadium. He wants a stadium full of rich, corporate twats like him who don't understand the club. All he does is rob our money from us.

So don't you fuckin dare try and talk to me about my club when you're the ignorant one with your head buried in the sand. Get behind SOS, not this Yank, capitalist cunt.

    POWER TO THE FANS!

  • @KopiteP250505 No dont you fucking dare say you support liverpool, First the ticket prices need to go up to be able to compete in the market for wages and transfers otherwise we wouldent be able to compete with clubs like stoke let alone Utd, chelsea mancity ect. Do you want the club to go down the gutter look at whats happening to Everton! How many games have you been to? i missed 3 games home and away last season, i struggle for money but still certainly support my team.

  • @KopiteP250505 you should not even be associated with our club.... you support your club wheather ther owned by a corporate power house who care about the club JWH. Or corparate powerhouse who dont have the intrest in our club Gourge gillet and tom hicks or even if its owned by the fans... This is LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB. Suport it in any situation and get your head out of your arse and get into the real world money is needed today and in the far future so start supporting YNWA

  • @artydean2 I'm sorry if English isn't your first language. If it is, you need to go back to primary school and learn how to read over again. I give Liverpool FC more support than you can imagine lad, trust me. I DON'T support John Henry though cos' he is an intruder.

If you think that by supporting Liverpool FC, you need to support John Henry... then you need to book yourself into hospital to get your head checked out and do it quickly, feel sorry for you lad - you can't see the big picture.

  • @KopiteP250505 Look im not going to argue with you because your another Liverpool fan but i just think JWH is doing a good job and if there is an bad motive behind the takeover then he has not shown it yet. I undertand where you are coming from i really can but our debts have been cleared and we are building a good platform to go upwards. So far the owners have said they want to do whats best for the club and SO FAR they have kept to there word also what is this sos PM me. YNWA

  • @artydean2 That's fair enough, but ticket prices will rise year after year. How long till' the proper fan base can't afford to go to any matches whatsoever. When that happens, the club is dead - regardless of how many titles we'll be challenging for.

'Liverpool FC exists as a source of pride for supporters. That is it's only purpose.' The fans who do get into the stadium now, don't feel very proud. The atmosphere is a joke, there's no community feel. It's not worth the money.

    YNWA!

  • @KopiteP250505 I do agree with you when you say about the ticket prices they should be considered and the price should be lowered I feel as long as they renovate Anfield that will be enough to convince me that they are good for the club I am also pleased that we are getting players who want to be at Liverpool and players who are mainly British. people say henderson and caroll are crap they both played well on saturday I agree the atmosphre has gone dim a bit but its still better than other clubs

  • @artydean2 The atmosphere is still better than other Premier League clubs, but it's an embarrassment in comparison to the Ultras on the continent.

  • @KopiteP250505 I agree there its lost abit of atmosphere since we have been out of europe.

  • @artydean2 There's loads of reasons lad. All seater stadiums are a joke, safe-standing areas being introduced like in Germany would make football far better over here. Ticket prices don't help either and dick heads like Ged Poynton getting loads of lads banned. It's just modern football - it's like a disease.

There needs to be a group of like-minded fans formed and a clear understanding and representation at board room level.

  • @KopiteP250505 I get you brother stand where you can stand would be fantastic.... you part of any fan group would be intresting to check some of this stuff you've brought forward for me?

  • @artydean2 In the process of forming one lad.

  • @KopiteP250505 Id love to get involved mail me information!

  • @KopiteP250505 STFU you so called cops. The crown is for Chelsea. Book yourself and your team rooms for Europa League. Oh, and if you guys 'can'. Hahahahaha stupid cops.

  • @Special1Mourinho 'cops'? What the fuck are you going on about. We're no Police!

Oh, the same Chelsea who have never, ever won a European Cup and who are still behind the likes of Sunderland and Villa in terms of total league titles with a pathetic sum of 4?

Liverpool and them cunts Man United are the only 2 great English teams - Chelsea are a poor, poor excuse for a rival - not in a million years will those rent-boys achieve what we have achieved. FACT!

  • @KopiteP250505 IM MEXICAN; i have to say to english fans dont let these yankees owe this club; before you know it he will raise prices. and even have Epl games in America... love from mexico

  • @Kemiztri Well said lad. He's already raised ticket prices, no surprise there. These people have no compassion - there's a world wide recession on and we have our own club robbing us. No doubt, rich cunts like John Henry won't have any trouble getting food on the table for their families.

The club should help us out until the financial crisis is over, but they won't do that cos' they don't give a shit about us anymore.

    FUCK MODERN FOOTBALL!

  • @KopiteP250505 its same with americans like lebron james buying a stake in liverpool and same with john henry?? these americans dont know shit about futbol, they see this club as a investment, property etc..

this why i hate US and their foreign policy, their stealing latin america's resources, and hispanics come to USA, we get the blame, dont let these big corporations control your football club

  • @KopiteP250505 liverpool is community owned.. people should own liverpool. see people give in because of money spend on the players and winning, people dont realize, he is going to bankrupt small businesses, no one fruits sold outside, no more small grocery stores, small stores that sold jersey at reasonable price, its going to be gone be replace by big time coporations, what happens those english people end up broke, this shit is same in mexico as well

  • @Kemiztri Spot on lad. Unfortunately a lot of people are stupid, and a lot of them are glory-hunters who have no pride or passion.

  • @KopiteP250505 yes those owners and players will be rich and have glory not the people when they cant their homes or foods because lack employment.... i know how americans are????? i lived in america their fucking stupid, they cant tell difference between united kingdom and england, they think its the same thing

  • @KopiteP250505 swearing and writing in caps doesnt make you're argument valid, yes trust under hicks etc. was lost, but these people are different, nesv actually care about winning, they enjoy sport and want to win, this is apparent from the level of investment, including £150 million in players and potentially a new stadium/ refurbishment of anfield, I really dont see why you're being so negative, maybe you should thinking about what you say before you do, because you're an embarrassment to us

  • @theshrews123 Those capitalist scum don't care about the club. It's impossible for them to care about it properly. They don't deserve to make decisions about it like the stadium decision. That's our decision to make not their's. Spirit of Shankly's ultimate aim is fan ownership of Liverpool FC. If you aren't behind that idea or not a member of SOS then it's you who is the fuckin embarrassment you clueless twat.

  • @KopiteP250505 I'll repeat that again swearing at you're own liverpool fans, doesn't make a argument valid, can't we just discuss the issue instead of swearing at you're own fans?, yes the dream to own you're own club, and run it by the fans would be better than some american, but the reality is that this will never happen now, football has changed, accept it, its a business, it needs to be sustainable to compete with other clubs, the alternative is not to make it competitve and then fail to win

  • @theshrews123 Your vision is too limited. Laws need to be introduced at national level placing limits on what clubs can spend on transfers, wages etc. All outside investment needs to be made illegal, sponsorships of clubs need to be banned. Football needs a lot of Socialism injecting into it.

Liverpool fans will own the club one day, football will never be a business. Tesco is a business - people don't support Tesco with the passion that people follow football clubs with and they never will.

  • @KopiteP250505 I hope you're vision of fan-owned clubs comes true, but investment and sponsorship will always exist as the sport gets more popular, level of investment falls in the premier league, clubs from brazil and china will be the ones spending the money, attracting the players which is already been seen the premier league will become less popular and the quality of football we watch week in week out will go, there needs to be a balance clearly, and no extreme view, like yours can be taken

  • @theshrews123 The sooner the Premier League is destroyed, the better for everyone. Football has become utter shite since Sky Sports started sticking their fuckin nose in and over-hyping the Premier League.

Safe-standing areas need to be introduced into the top two divisions and that will start us on the long road to saving football from the slow and painful death that it's suffering at the moment.

  • @KopiteP250505 I don't see how more money within the game has directly affected the quality of the football been played if anything its improved it as its been able to attract the best players from around the world, that point can not be argued, You clearly have some quite extreme political and football based views that the large majority will not agree with You don't speak for the majority, you are just speaking you're own personal extreme view, politics and football should be seperated

  • @theshrews123 Stop talking about the players on the pitch, that's not where the spirit of football lies. The spirit of football lies off the pitch, in the terraces amongst fans who stand on their feet and sing. Off the pitch is more important than on the pitch. Players and managers come and go, but 'football without fans is nothing.' The money in the game has resulted in a lot of PROPER fans being banished from the stadiums and driven away. That is a fuckin sin, plain and simple!

  • john henry is a beast he sold 2 ruined eggs for the value of gold and brought two fresh eggs that can last for the next 10years at the top level one of those eggs has payed off really well the other egg is a large one and a very talented egg - put kenny incharge as a caretaker for 6months so he can focus very much on this season and decide the outcome at the end of the season and talks sense a propper sports fan rather then just another smart ass and weather he is good or bad... he wnts to win!

  • @hatah4

who is second ruined egg? :-)

  • I love John! YNWA
