There's a way to fix red ring (and I assume Yellow Light too) that's pretty simple. Costs about five bucks for materials... You just can't be scared to open your system ;)

The Red Ring/Yellow Light doesn't mean it is permanently broken, my old Xbox red ringed about 4 times it still works :D just unplug it and try several things to get it back on :D
