There was a bass player from Indianapolis with a similar percussive technique. Played with Uni Wu in Red Beans and Rice back in the 1990s. He could out pick about every lead guitarist I saw him with.

First of all, to you hatin' asses...do you have any idea how hard it is for a bassist to develope a routine that is respectable to the artform, practical, and noteworthy. For a non-virtuoso (not to mention) female bassist, it has to be quite a feat. I myself love what Rhonda does. @ Wireless....why run the risk of some kind of techno bs when you can afford a fat dude. I actually dont like that bass solo, but check out JPJ's bass solos, Jamerson's awesome lines, and paul chambers' walking and solos, and you'll bass is a motherfuckin' cool instrument. I am a bass player, but i'm also a huuuuuuuge fan of hendrix, robbie krieger and most of the delta blues guitarists.
