no. Belief in the Christian sense is a trustful, committed reliance. There is no blind faith here. We have plenty of proof for our faith- and, going beyond science and to a personal life, the main one is because God is faithful! He is perfectly faithful. Thus we can place our faith in him. And the apostles went out preaching that Jesus is THE Way- the only way- with boldness! We would rather preach than watch people die. You don't have to shove it down people's throats to do that though.

You have a point, that does happen, but we're not talking minor doctrines here. Love is THE central belief of the Christian faith. In the Bible, Jesus says the two greatest commandments are to love God, and love others. This is no "minor doctrine". If someone has no love in their heart than I would seriously doubt their Christianity. Because while some minor doctrines aren't essential, you can't just make every teaching unessential. Then people could just believe whatever they want.
I think what you have to realise is that 1. there are people who claim to be Christian, but aren't. 2. Even real Christians still make mistakes, we don't claim to be perfect. We do try, but we're going to fail, and we may hate unbelievers. I'm not justifying it in any way, just saying that unfortunately it happens.
It's easy to run up the Christian flag, but nowhere near easy to live the Christian life. Mistakes will be made along the way and forgiveness must be sought.
The only concern i have about those people that ninegrays talking about is that they cause people to believe that all Christians are that way. Honestly those people have there hearts in the right place but there minds are leading them astray. They let their own misinterpretations, of the Bible and what Jesus says, gain control of how they think and feel. They just need some minor readjusting but unfortunately that tends to be difficult. In my opinion, it's about how when you don't follow your calling and you don't fight the lie of the enemy, you're walking down the wrong road. A lot of the people that say they will walk with God forever end up turning away and going back to their worldy indulgences. This song seems like a war cry of a generation that is willing to live or die for God and fight in this war. We are willing to do whatever it takes to reclaim the victory.

@splep Again, MAN wrote the bible, not "god". It is based of an "interpretation" of "god". If people were smart enough to figure out that something based of an interpretation is never a good source of information also, things always get lost in translation, and always get exaggerated

@gomibako12 poverty is a result of people's greed and the rich people's view of the poor, sin is in humans and the unrepentant and sinful are the results of problems in the world. if more people believed in the living God, there'd be less problems in the world, but that won't happen because of people ignoring God's authority and existence.

In almost all religions Evil was created by mans mistakes. "Sin" in itself is done by every person no matter if they repent or not. There are too many technicalities in religion for there to be a conclusion. Religion causes wars.

No, I'm open-minded and very reflective of it. It's what the song means to me, and it could fit into the political category, just as much as it can philosophically and spiritually. I think the main message of the song is a spiritual one, but it can be put into other categories. I merely stated my opinion, and you, like so many others, just condemns them. Shame.

no. Belief in the Christian sense is a trustful, committed reliance. There is no blind faith here. We have plenty of proof for our faith- and, going beyond science and to a personal life, the main one is because God is faithful! He is perfectly faithful. Thus we can place our faith in him. And the apostles went out preaching that Jesus is THE Way- the only way- with boldness! We would rather preach than watch people die. You don't have to shove it down people's throats to do that though.

Ha not everything can be true... doctrinal differences will obviously create rifts, and neither can tolerate a percieved falsehood, therefore, "intolerance" is the only ratonial product of disagreements.
but intolerance is probably the wrong word to use. there are certain things that are more important then other things... such as jesus really being God. whether baptism should be complete submersion or sprinkling doesnt really matter for much. or the style of worship music.

You have a point, that does happen, but we're not talking minor doctrines here. Love is THE central belief of the Christian faith. In the Bible, Jesus says the two greatest commandments are to love God, and love others. This is no "minor doctrine". If someone has no love in their heart than I would seriously doubt their Christianity. Because while some minor doctrines aren't essential, you can't just make every teaching unessential. Then people could just believe whatever they want.

I think what you have to realise is that 1. there are people who claim to be Christian, but aren't. 2. Even real Christians still make mistakes, we don't claim to be perfect. We do try, but we're going to fail, and we may hate unbelievers. I'm not justifying it in any way, just saying that unfortunately it happens.
It's easy to run up the Christian flag, but nowhere near easy to live the Christian life. Mistakes will be made along the way and forgiveness must be sought.

The only concern i have about those people that ninegrays talking about is that they cause people to believe that all Christians are that way. Honestly those people have there hearts in the right place but there minds are leading them astray. They let their own misinterpretations, of the Bible and what Jesus says, gain control of how they think and feel. They just need some minor readjusting but unfortunately that tends to be difficult. In my opinion, it's about how when you don't follow your calling and you don't fight the lie of the enemy, you're walking down the wrong road. A lot of the people that say they will walk with God forever end up turning away and going back to their worldy indulgences. This song seems like a war cry of a generation that is willing to live or die for God and fight in this war. We are willing to do whatever it takes to reclaim the victory.
