  • Either side = all the crap. PERFECT ANALOGY.

  • 小自由太可爱了(^_−)−☆

  • " but at the same time he's not 'how clean is your house?' " - You've got to love Martin Freeman.

  • How Clean is YOUR House???

  • is Mrs. Hudson Miranda's Mum?

  • -gasp- john said CRAP! kitens doin't say bad words like CRAP (alice, its martin this time, not john) EXACTLY! he is STILL a kitten.

  • i love the word 'detritus'

sounds like a dodgy pudding gone wrong

  • This shows incredible. I've only seen bit and peaces of it, but that was enough to get me to buy the DVD Set. :-) Can not come soon enough in the mail. :-( Mr. Cumberbatch and Mr. Freeman are spectacular to watch. The really have an awesome bromance that is so superb to witness the chemistry these two guys have on screen. :-) Hope they don't marry them off anytime soon. I really don't want to see them loose that dynamic the have between them. Waiting for more to show in the USA is so hard. :-(

  • @Ashleyls17 there are live streamings directly from UK to the USA.....they are illegal, but totally worth it if u can find one. good luck. the next one is this sunday lol

  • KITTEN!

  • ...how tidy is my house? Er...221B levels, at least the bits my dad hasn't tidied. XD Yeeeaah...

  • I think the name Bilbo Baggins suits Martin perfectly.

  • I LOVE that they kept the furniture layout from the Jeremy Brett series. Awesome shout out there.

  • either side of it is all the crap :')

  • i hope they go on oliday to holland, so i have a chance to meet one of them XD

  • When the second season premiere?

  • LOL at his pokerface when he says, "How clean is your house?"

  • i just discovered this show on netflix watch instantly last night and i am now completely hooked. i couldn't go to sleep for an hour because i kept replaying the first episode over and over again in my mind. these two guys are incredibly brilliant actors and i have found my new favorite show.

    dr. watson AND bilbo baggins?!

    what a versatile guy.

  • i am so glad Martin is THE hobbit in 'The Hobbit'. it's just so...him.

  • He'll always be Timbo, Timber, Tim Canterbury, the Archbishop Of Canterbury, Bishop Muzorewa to me, but I'm pleased to hear about Martin Freeman being cast in the Hobbit as Bilbo Baggins.

  • Is anyone else worried about Reichenbach? Steve Moffat threw it out as a clue for the upcoming season. I'm obsessing. It's just wrong.

  • @bluebanshee3 i am worried. Sherlock jumping off a cliff. John left behind. then, they're off to New Zealand before returning for (hopefully) Series 3.

  • isint Dr. watson's name in the books James? I guess John sounded better to the makers

  • @kanukulgood Page 1 of Study in Scarlet (1st Holmes novel) states his name as John H. Watson, M.D - Late Indian Army. So John is correct, although his wife calls him James in a much later story and there's a whole other debate about that!

  • @kubricksmith I got confused by the James bit. I was like, that's a weird pet name

  • @sabrinacatlo He's called John H Watson and Moriarty's first name is James but in 'The Twisted Lip' Mary calls Watson 'James' which was probably just a mistake by Doyle, but some people have speculated that the H in his name stands for Hamish, which is Scottish for James, and that by some weird relationship his wife was calling him by a different version of his second name :p reckon he just made a mistake, either that or Watson IS MORIARTY!!!

  • @SneverusSnapers Ooh, that would've made a fine twist to the end of the first series if he was Moriarty. We would've had to be introduced to the real Watson... Big ol' uproar about departure from canon... Distressing but interesting, like how talking to Sherlock must be.

  • @bluebear068 hah lol! I reckon Watson is Moirarty! I mean, let's face the facts - he never actually meets Moriarty (in the canon I mean), only 'sees him from a distance' and Holmes does meet Moriarty. At the Reichenbach falls, Watson is 'called away' moments before Moriarty arrives on the scene...hmm...suspicious! :p

  • Oh god adorable overload

  • I loved the sherlock series. hope there will be more!

  • wait, HE'S the new bilbo?! KNEW i'd seen him somewhere before

  • i can't wait for Series 2 coming later this year. it's going to be great.

  • I want to have his babies.

  • "A flat that's been there for over a 150 years- that's really good!"

    -opens empty fridge- LOL

    Martin Freeman <3

  • 0:18 HahawhatisthatMattSmithbackthere.

  • He is so good as Watson and he is going to be the ABSOLUTE PERFECT BILBO. More people are going to start watching this b/c of 'The Hobbit', which is perfectly fine, b/c the more fans it can get the better :P

  • It's funny, what he says about the military at the end, because in The Musgrave Ritual his character uses the same excuse for why he's *not* as tidy as he used to be - that'd he'd grown slightly more accustomed to imperfection and rough living spaces because of his days in the military.

  • Apparently, two people haven't been FREEMANIZED.

  • To those who EVIDENTLY don't know: Freeman did a LOT of dramatic movies/plays/shorts.

Just watch him in "Nightwatching"in which he plays Rembrandt.

  • @OrontesRM He plays Rembrandt? Wow. I must see this.

  • Of course Sherlock is like that he is a Virgo rising. I love making Virgo jokes, but that is true and one of the excepted birthdays puts Sherlock as a Virgo, that one he would be a Scorpio rising. I do my research lol. I love Jeremy Brett incarnation and Benedict Cumberbatch incarnation. i got so many Sherlock X-mas gifts. Including a playbill from the Sherlock play signed by Jeremy Brett. I am very happy.

  • @Animedrawerxxx i am so jealous!!!

  • Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are both absolutely wonderful in their roles. This is the best Sherlock Holmes I've ever seen. The writing is all I could have hoped for, as a fan of the original books.

  • @chris2tea

Most people, including myself, much prefer ITV/Jeremy Brett's classical, period Sherlock...as that was undeniably the most true-to-book portrayal on either stage or screen, but I did enjoy this modern take on it all the same, and I'm immensely looking forward to the second series. I was initially very dubious as to how it would translate to the modern day, but credit where it is due...Auntie pulled it off.

  • Martin Freeman makes a great Dr. Watson - playing him completely straight. Some people I know didn't like this, as they thought he should be a bumbling idiot, and Martin Freeman would play him as a comedy turn. Watson IS NOT a bumbling thicko, but an intelligent and dangerous man, not afraid to step into the line of fire. He has no worries about carrying a gun - and having to use it. Martin Freeman ticks all the right boxes playing this iconic character. Superb!

  • He'll make a great Bilbo without a doubt!

  • The best production of a Sherlock Holmes series since the Granada Jeremy Brett series, and I never thought I'd find anything that could come close to that.

Bravo Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman :)

  • Johns jumpers ftw

  • I LOOOOVE Martin Freeman! What an amazing actor! He's so cute here!

  • I just want to hug him ^^

  • I <3 this show :D

  • this one goes up to British TV!!

The people who brought you Merlin and Doctor Who now give you...

    SHERLOCK!!!!

(which might I add has Benedict Cumberbatch cast in it - just too sexy now I've seen him in role to be missed!!)

  • That observation about motorways and detritus? BRILLIANT. <3

  • "but on the side is all the crap."

    Well said. XD

  • Possibly the best part of this series; There is a HEAD in the FRIDGE.

  • HOW FIT IS BENDICT CUMBERBATCH! his eyes and his hair and his voice is just sooo YUMMY!!! oh i'll miss Sherlock when it finishes. :(

  • omfg i love this program. btw fourth comment!!! whoop whoop :)

  • I love this programme, I hope they make another series, I can't cope with only 3 episodes!!!

  • Best thing ever. Better than Doc Who even.

  • @RaeLithium I agree! I'm so in love with the series that I'm watching it again! :)

  • @RaeLithium Yeh I'm Starting to think that as well.

  • @RaeLithium I wouldn't say BETTER than Doctor Who, on a par certainly, from the same genius, Stephen Moffatt. Mind you I am a bit of a Doctor Who fangirl... When this came out I declared to my housemates that I would be alternating my obsessions! Just have to hope that they don't show Doctor Who and Sherlock in the same week, or else I might explode with awesome :-D

  • @RaeLithium controversial....

  • @RaeLithium I agree: this is obviously where the mojo -- the wit, the energy, the "wow" -- went. However, Dr. Who, as a whole, has its greats (Tom, David, Patrick, Paul) and it's eh?s, like any long-running series.

  • @RaeLithium not too tricky if you look at Dr Who now--- :p

  • @RaeLithium O.O

  • I was SO worried when I heard Martin Freeman was cast to play quite a big serious role in Sherlock- mainly because he seems to be quite a deadpan actor and stuck in the same character since The Office.

Now that I've seen him in two epsiodes, I'm happy to say Martin has pulled it off and he fits the role perfectly.

Hope to see him in more soon!

  • @BenjiMoore Hey, haven't you seen him in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy ? And.. he's supposed to be in the Hobbit... wonder how that will turn up...

  • @BenjiMoore Martin Freeman is also goingto play Bilbo in Peter Jackson's The Hobbit... Guess it's one of the reasons thei're so slow in the producktion of more Sherlock episodes.
