  • O-TOWN!

  • I was so confused a couple years back when driving on I-BLVD and I didn't see Skull Kingdom. I couldn't believe it was gone. Think about all the stupid shit that still stands in Orlando and they tear this awesome place down... life sucks.

  • Living near Orlando, I always passed this as a kid, and always wanted to do it :(

  • Not fake...I worked there...I was there, this was from my cell phone. Check the location...it's a vacant lot now.

  • FAKE.

  • Oh man. I worked there for 6 months. I hated the owner but it was still my favorite job. So many memories..

  • Ahhhh man, it closed in '06. Anyone taped footage of the inside? I went down there in 2005 but I was too scared to go by myself (friends wouldn't go in since it wasn't Halloween). Darn, yeah reminded me of a scary movie that's why I passed.

  • Love to see the pics for sure!

  • How scary was a year round place like this compared to an event like halloween horror nights?

  • When I worked at Skull Kingdom there were years that it was much better than HHN. We had longer lines and much better scares. But you have to understand, we worked on our skills all year round. We weren't just school kids hired for a season with a few rehearsals under our belts, we we seasoned haunted attraction actors. We did our own make up, made and maintained our own costumes, and developed our own characters.

  • I just found this out today. I never would have thought they would tear Skull Kingdom down, that was a landmark! That place was populer. That's sad :(

  • what replaced this? this was oppisite wet n wild right?

  • Nothing yet...it's a vacant lot next to an IHOP.

  • It probably got pulled down because nobody went anymore coz it was so scary!!!Me and my girlfriend went with two others one night on holiday and all three of them started cryin!!!!lol!!I had to go round on my own!I was nearly cryin by the end!!!:. (

  • It got demolished for a number of reasons...mostly money. The people that owned the land had bought the attraction from the original owners 10 years ago...and ran the business into the ground. So they auctioned off the castle contents to one bidder takes all, and sold the land to a developers for a few million.

  • @thenextdoctor yea i actually worked there near the end with the last owner, he just didnt give a shit about the attraction or the people he cut corners where ever he could and made it an all around ripe off, i felt so terrible working there and taking peoples money, especially after i looked at what Skull Kingdom was like in its hay day its sad really

  • my mom always said we'd go cuz i love that kind of shit but never did :( just like FAO Swarts and Nick Studios :((

  • i never got to go to skull kingdom but it was always a great feature of i drive.

shame its gone, nothings replaced it yet

  • i went in 2000 when i was like 9

to put it bluntly i was scared shitless haha

    wouldnt leave my mums side

but yeah anywho gay one that theyve demolished it :|

  • God...that was the only place i ever got a scare. One of the best places in Orlando, destroyed...sesriosuly annoyed.

  • I m very sad seeing this ...I m from Brazil and I went several times to Skull Kingdom , I just love it!!I t was so exciting....

    Why they closed ?

  • I never got to got there and they ripped it down. Even Terror in Orlando closed, too it opened after this closed but then that closed, too. It seems haunt attractions can't survive in FL for some reason. Terror on Church Street closed also. What haunts are left down there? Just the one at Old Town? A shame, though that SK was razed because Castle Dracula in Wildwood, NJ burned 2002 and it was one of my favorite attractions. Niagara Falls ON,CA has several, and Lake George, NY. Gatlinburg,TN also

  • what a bunch of cunts, why did they take it down? scary place.

  • i went to skull kingdom the first time i visited florida in 2002,i watch this with a tear in my eye.

  • 02 was my first aswell =/ i loved that place

  • Oh f@ck! Why did they tear it down!? I use to go their all the time on vacation with my family. Damn I didn't know they were getting rid of it. What's being put in its place?

  • There was no business, the new owner bankrupted the place. It was auctioned off(there is video on my account)to Daytona Lagoon. They plan to put Condos on the lot.

  • im so sick of the state tearing away land, fucking the beauty of florida.. all these god damn condo's and devlopements always going up.. its just sad

  • Condos eventually...that's what I heard.

  • "a haunted family attraction"

  • man that place was awsome just last night i went to a haunted house and was telling my friends about skull kingdom....Ill miss it

  • I have walked past this landmark so many times when I have been to Orlando on holiday.

International Drive just won't seem the same again.

    Jason, London

  • i worked there a little while ago and i'm bummed it was destroyed but thanx for putting these videos up. I now work at Universal Studios and only saw the few days of demolition and in a few days the whole thing was gone......R.I.P

  • I have many photos and relics from the Kingdom if you want to see them.

  • @thenextdoctor put em up on youtube and we'll have a good look and perhaps a scare or two...

  • what hapened someone tell me!!

  • Skull Kingdom closed Nov.2006,was Auctioned off Feb.2007,Gutted in March and Demolished in August.
