Ive Played this game before, I just fell out of it a lot. It i not really appealing to me but this review made me realize how much i do miss getting togheter with my friends, Graycient, IronDragon, RoadKill and eveyone in my clan, The Lone Riders (discontinued), Now named Graycient's Army. I loved to do Skirmishes with my mates. They were always a kickass experience. Now i really want to go play this. -Kelolis
I quit wow because of its simplicity and when I watched this video it was to find out about Lord of the rings online, not hear a guy talk about wow for 19 minutes..
Many good points there, but you really can't say anything about the story of lotro if you have played it only for a few hours. Wait until you hit lvl 50 and start doing epic books 8 an up, there's some good stuff :)
the worst review I ever heard, not to begin with his comparing with WoW the entire video, he plays the game for like what 10 hours more less and plays wow for like 4+years and says, the game is the same, or better he said its a copy of WoW, I mean come on, I play both games, and Im playing them from ther realise, I wish a hungry child is feed for every time I hear or read from tards that all the games are copy of WoW, but back to topic, If you wish to do a good review, go deeper in to the game

@Craig267 the world is massive. if you think the whole LotRO world was there when he went in to the map, you would be wrong. that area he is in is massive in itself but it is about 1/30th of the whole map. so yes there is a fairly good player base, they are just spread all over. usually you can find good amounts of people in towns, where there are many quests, etc. btw. I highly recommend this game if you havent tryed it yet

You barely got anywhere in the game. That's the whole point of Lotro.
It wets your appetite, but doesn't offer you enough to completely satisfy you instantly, so you keep playing to find out if there's more.

@CynicallyObnoxious It's fun but takes a long time to learn. It's an open ended, sandbox game where you choose your own path and make your own decision on how you want to approach your gameplay. There are free trials, if you do try it make sure you youtube it and try to learn a lot through that or evelopedia. PvP is everywhere and the developers allow scams and cons(within reason) to instigate pvp. It's not for everyone, but if you do your research and decide on a path, it's a lot of fun.
I don´t agree with this guy at all. I have played this game for a long time and basicl played through the story. This guy do not know what he is talking about when he says the game is basicly World of Warcraft and the Quests have boring lore. This game is of course a lot like World of Warcraft (or ANY other Mmo in the world), but it focus on Tolkien-lore. In the lover levels the story is not that epic. What did he expect? Fighting dragons in lvl 5? This game is all about the lore of Middle-earth
There's plently of people, just that the first few levels you spend it in a "starter area" thats not connected to the actual areas. After you complete a few quests and do the instance, you'll be transfered to the real area where you'll see a lot more players. around level 5 or 7 you'll be done with that.

Hey, quick question! I'm in between buying just the standard edition of Star Wars The Old Republic or getting the V.I.P package for LOTRO. I really don't know which to choose. I LOVE both stories and I love the lore both has to offer. I've played LOTRO before as FREE and loved it! So if I get SWTOR it will only be the basic package. The game acually has really good graphics, where you started off, in Thorin's Gate, sure the graphics arnt that good, its covered in snow pretty much. But once you get to places like greenlands or other like wooded areas, i think you will have a different opinion about graphics.

very good mmo. the graphics are good and the combat is great too. The game world is huge and has an awesome setting (LoTR) the download is rather large (about 9g) BUT that means the game has a lot to offer. The character models, i will warn, are pretty bad at the beginning if you play a human mostly because their models are made for gear that's somewhat bulky and the beginning armor is pretty much flat with some spice here and there.

this made me feel like i was playing a world of warcraft game not a lord of the rings game. this game would have more then half of the subscriptions wow has if it was real time combat with real physics and ragdoll physics.
i am not going to lie i didn't have to spend a single penny until lvl 50. even after lvl 50 i spent so little amount for lot of content. most of people in game are super nice and helpful.also since i cant be too involve with a game for some reason. i am glad this game has free to play option for people like me.

I'll say one good thing for runescape, the quest stories are worth reading but they are not masterpieces of literature which you would expect since it takes nine million hours to get the right levels for a quest.

Hey, quick question! I'm in between buying just the standard edition of Star Wars The Old Republic or getting the V.I.P package for LOTRO. I really don't know which to choose. I LOVE both stories and I love the lore both has to offer. I've played LOTRO before as FREE and loved it! So if I get SWTOR it will only be the basic package. If I decide with LOTRO I would be getting V.I.P. Which should I get?

you know i thought WoW was the best MMO ever...till cataclysm came out...THEN the game went to shit....it used to have story now it's all money and epic gear....i like a good MMO with story....i think LOTRO is better then WoW ....that's how i feel

The game acually has really good graphics, where you started off, in Thorin's Gate, sure the graphics arnt that good, its covered in snow pretty much. But once you get to places like greenlands or other like wooded areas, i think you will have a different opinion about graphics.

LOTRO is just like WOW? okay there are alot of the same things in here as in wow, but is is different in so many ways. you'd better say it is just like other good mmo's and this game just stands out with it's easy to learn gameplay and outstanding (for a mmo) graphics

very good mmo. the graphics are good and the combat is great too. The game world is huge and has an awesome setting (LoTR) the download is rather large (about 9g) BUT that means the game has a lot to offer. The character models, i will warn, are pretty bad at the beginning if you play a human mostly because their models are made for gear that's somewhat bulky and the beginning armor is pretty much flat with some spice here and there.

this made me feel like i was playing a world of warcraft game not a lord of the rings game. this game would have more then half of the subscriptions wow has if it was real time combat with real physics and ragdoll physics.

i am not going to lie i didn't have to spend a single penny until lvl 50. even after lvl 50 i spent so little amount for lot of content. most of people in game are super nice and helpful.also since i cant be too involve with a game for some reason. i am glad this game has free to play option for people like me.

Personally, one of my favourite things about LOTRO is the emote system.
Particularly being able to play an instrument or even just chill and smoke a pipe, not that it's really relevant to the gameplay itself.

I'll say one good thing for runescape, the quest stories are worth reading but they are not masterpieces of literature which you would expect since it takes nine million hours to get the right levels for a quest.

stop comparing every mmorpg to wow take it for wath it is. at first wow was a rip off of many mmorpg that where here before it and still at this moment blizzard rips off stuff from other games. you could day its an other hotkey mmo but using wow as the reference just takes things out of perspective.

When it comes to 'gameplay' MMO's play the same, people say that all the time I see. An MMO- Plays like an MMO- it's that simple. Every MMO will have an action bar... Maybe we'll see something in the future lol. It's play styles- not gameplay.
