I read the comments and everyone is giving Mervyn Warren credit for this arrangement. You are "half" correct. According to the credits, it stated this song was " Arranged by Mark Kibble & Mervyn Warren Originally Sung by Alliance". Usually they put the person who was the 'chief' arranger first...so let's also give Mark Kibble his credit. Fantastic arrangement and the guys sung it beautifully.
@6411Sandra You're correct but you have to admit since he's not there, the arrangements come nothing close to when he was..... make you think.... all in all it's all beautiful music.
The chord structures in here are the kind that send chills down your spine and put tears in your eyes...and to think these gentlemen figured out how to do this with their voices. That is such a blessing. All due respect to these guys!
I think I'm going to transcribe this so I can play it on the keyboard. Absolutely love this arrangement of "Bless This House". This weekend is perfect, considering we have a new president in the "house".
When I first heard the song, I thought it was the same arrangement as on their "Alliance" recording. Then I heard the orchestra and chills when up my spine. It does sound like the angels were singing with them. I mean, what do you expect when you ask God to bless your house?
this takes me back to the kings heralds classical arrangement. And even with Classical take 6 can still pull it off. This song blesses me everytime i hear
This has to be one of their classiest performances. The way they go from acapella to melting seamlessly with the orchestra is simply breathtaking !!! I always feel touched by the Spirit every time I hear this !! Praise God....
I saw them at the Catalina Bar and Grille here in Los Angeles. 2 shows per night. It wasn't even a full house and you were no more than 60 ft away. After the show they would come out and say hello. They were flawless over the whole set. Incredible. I can hardly wait for them to come back.
This is AWESOME! It is truly sweet music to my ears and I can clearly hear each part as a solo. I know them all personally and their extended families, so I'm REALLY blessed!
OMG they sound like angels (as usual)!!! The arrangement is beautiful. Merv did a song for Boyz 2 Men (I Do).It's unlike any of their other songs. Check it out. I wish I could be in on one of their jam sessions.
i remember reading somewhere that the initial arrangement was done by mark, but merv touched up on it alot. you can definitely hear merv's influence in it.
Anyway, the arrangement is simply fantastic. Say what you please, I'll always be a die-hard fan of this group, perhaps a little more of their early work. Yet what Take 6 are doing today is still high in the sky. Thanks for answering!
Wow...can you believe it was that long ago? Time surely flies folks! God has truly blessed them over the years...proving once again that music can touch souls like nothing else can. Truly a gift.
Take 6 interprets songs better than any group on the face of this earth. Can you find better voice leading any where? It's like they make the song come alive like an organism and literally dwell with you.
My Acapella group rankings would haveto be 5) Swingle Singers 4) GLAD 3) The Blenders 2) The Real Group and of course these guys at the top....1) Take 6.
Not a bad list. I've heard almost all the most well-known groups, and there are only 2 that distinguish themselves as superior to all others. Take 6 (Jazz/R&B) and The King's Singers (Classical/Popular). Take care!
These guys are in a class of their own! They came to South Africa for a Jazz festival, sang the uncompromising Gospel of Jesus Christ and the folks wept! The closest harmony to this would most bebe Manhattan Transfer.
That was well executed. Very difficult timing because it was free flowing and then the harmonies were on as humanly possible (as far as I've heard). They are a talented group and I enjoy discovering new performances of take 6. Continue to feed the people altoid. Educate them to some real harmony singing.

It's 91.I wonder who arranged this. Whether it was still done, to some extent, by my Merv. It certainly gives you a sense of Mervyn's touch.
