Great Britain did fight america lol. Thanks for this, I play piano and I always cheated and used the guitar chord tap instead of reading the bass cleff lol
@mbondi - what you say does make logical sense but I think that "middle C" only really has significance when writing music on the grand stave. The actual note itself doesn't hold any greater significance than any other (for example an A) except when written down.
If any other clef other than the trebble or bass is used then it actually has no real significance at all.
Not sure why an A is an A though, there must be a reason somewhere....
Hi, this is my first time on your site. first let me say ,THANK YOU.On your lesson for the bass clef, when you combine all the letters together. The first ' g ' on the bottom is in the line then the other ' g ' on the top is in the middle of the last two lines . I don't understand which one stands for 'g'
Stephen: enjoyed your presentation on base cleff, etc. However there is one question that i have always asked myselfL History Question: Why is the location of the "C" note on the piano keyboard not the "A" note ?? The "A" note is buried between G-sharpe and B-flat,, yet "A" is the 1st letter of the alphabet? It would seem logical that the A note should be located where the C-note is. Further, on the Bagpipe, it is the A-notes that the Drones play, not "C"
@pugs321 Yep! Timpani and bass drum for percussion. Tuba, trombone, baritone (sometimes) bassoon, bass, and piano are some that also read bass clef :)
The note "A" was placed in the 1st space of the bass because it is the first note of the alphabet, and is at the bottom of a man's vocal range. The 7 letters A to G all fit neatly within the bass stave, from the bottom space to the top space. The middle letter of ABCDEFG is D and so D is the middle line of the bass. The bass clef is thus quite logical, and it was the first clef to be invented, coming a few centuries before the treble clef.
Thank you so much :)

For the spaces, I remember A Cow Eats Grandma. For the lines, I remember Good Bitches Don't Fuck Around.
