  • great fucking song. damn i wish thunders was still around. he would still be a total bad ass

  • Walter was left in the band....after R Hell was kicked out....so right next was crossing the pond and...getting invoved in th Anarchy Tour....The british kids accepted the band and Walter as if he was a "someone"....Johnny took all the gracefullnes out of the Hell concocted rythems and Walter do whatever he could..with them...So Walters head got swelled... nOT LONG LATER...JOHNNY WAS LOOKIN AT A RETARD WHO was challenging him on stage...u think im bein not nice..dont you

  • mytube2048 - I got another 3%. I wish I had a dollar for every time I've heard it and played it. Too bad there is no decently-recorded version of their Love Comes in Spurts, which is largely the same song with Johnny & Jerry at their very incredible best.

  • Time warp.....;;;;;;;;;;pick up johnnys guitar what the fuck? the treble the bridge is so jacked up on the treble side...its like almost 3/4 of an inch ....the bass side is so low the strings nearly touch the frets.......result is every treble note somewhat bent...and Johnny didnt hold a (really got me) fifth like other people he used his first finger and his pinky......But the most amazing control he had was using his other pinky to flip his volume pot......just the slide on C-Rocks

  • Black Jax did it better.

  • The main riff sounds a lot like Richard Hell's "Love comes in Spurts".

  • @Flipper79able That's because when Hell was still in The Heartbreakers this was called Love Comes In Spurts. When he left Lure took over the vocals and wrote new lyrics while Hell continued playing the original version.

  • You tube is just like the best jukebox ever.Just blast off.Do ya waaant sum mawa.

  • 1:09 who knows what's the guitar effect used to play this solo?

  • @weapshap

I think it's just a fuzz pedal or something like that to boost the signal, Johnny plays some doublestop bends that ascend with the chords. Sounds like it's overdubbed in the studio but there's really no way of knowing.

  • @BrianApocalypse thank you very much! I'm looking for this effect, cause it drives me crazy!!

  • @BrianApocalypse HEARTBREAKERS didn't use pedals.

  • great album. thanks for posting.

  • Great Sound. † 23. April 1991 John Anthony Genzale, Jr died in Hotel „St. Peter's Guest House“ in New Orleans... to early.

  • I love Johnny Thunders, it's a shame that he is so underrated :/

    R.I.P.

  • They were a fucking mess live, enjoy the recording

  • Along with Primal Scream ... the other best live band in the world! When they were on song they were electric live ... nothing like them back in the 70's

  • this is a rewrite of a rich. hell song love comes in spurts lure just made up the words

  • Um this is better than Johnny's tunes. Is Walter still alive?

  • It's strange how people don't like to play the guitar anymore.

  • i know he didn't last long, but imagine if you were richard hell, you could brag about being the only survivor of the "original" heartbreakers. WOW

  • Fuck ALL who bitches about Waldo!

He and Jerry Nolan wrote the coolest songs in The Heartbreakers, sure Johnny was the star of the show and wrote or co-wrote really cool songs but you can just listen to the oldest stuf before Waldo joined and see for yourself!

  • I am so thankful to whoever posted this!

...heh and YouTube for suggesting this to me. Never heard it until today.

    FOOKIN' GREAT!

  • Thanks for keeping the HeartBreakers songs alive on YouTube.

  • L.A.M.F

  • as far as wimpy written this song , thats bullshit. you see all johnny's girlfriend , the blond skank whats her name, wanted to do is fuck and suck on johnny. well he told her " you got a one track mind " and she said you oughtta make that a song , and he did. fuck wimpy lure. JOHNNY was and allways will be THE MAN.

  • wimpy lure was as important for the heartbreakers as dog shit on your shoe. he was and is a bitch who couldent do a fucken thing if someone dident want to let him. in other words a do as your told session musician. remember what he did when there was no one left for him to cling to, he got an office job, thats right , someones secretary...now johnny is gone so he can have the scraps johnny left. look at his band, fucken japs, give me a fucken break, boycott faggit wimpy lure....

  • You know it's a great song if Motorhead covers it!!

  • su-fuckin-perb!!! takes me back to those days........!

  • One of the most exciting live bands ever!

  • hell fucking yes!

  • i got tracks on my arms ,,,,,,

  • not much of video, for your first video.

  • thi IS love comes in spurts....the basic music...love comes in spurts was much better...that fucking band was better.....that fucking band ....anyway even johnny admitted it in the press....johnny used walter for a stage puppet at alot of shows...walter would make the mistake of trying to put johnny down...but this didnt happen untill later...the richard hell band hit more possibilitys than any other incarnation

  • this song is fucking great

  • grrreat!

  • Absolutely!!!!

  • Fucking love this song..

    Such a great song

  • those drums sound very much like poor and weird by the briefs

  • Dont be one track mind

    Abba mama said

  • Lure is and was a very cool guy,but without JT he and the Waldos would still be an underground garage band, cool but not important.Johnny was the one who made them big.

  • dirtay

  • Your first! Great song to start with! My fave Heartbreakers song!

This sounds like the mix on the Lost '77 Mixes double set...

    thanks!

  • i love this song...i like the double entendre with the word =track= lol

  • ACES!!!

  • well the song i said he stole was love comes in spurts

hell wrote it and television played it

    before the heartbrakers

  • hell stole johnnys girlfriend

so johnny stole his song and made the chorus better

  • @lostaglio6666 well wallter and johnny came up with the riffs, hell came up with the lyrics,so johnny dident steal anything, walter just wrote new lyrics over their riff

  • Legendary on our side of the music world - Rest in Peace Johnny.

  • The Heartbreakers rule!

  • i am responsible for at least 3% of the views for this page. i fucking love this song.

  • RIP Johnny Genzale

  • This just love comes in spurts with different lyrics... *suspicious face*

  • wait songs with the same rhythm and chords are the same song? shit... i have like 8000 duplicate songs on my computer.

  • no,this song has the same rythm as "love comes in spurts", but different chorus!!

  • your right. even the chorus is close enough. you know the 70s would have been great had it not been for all the assholes...the us just can't get it right. and it was there one last big mistake. it's all ove folks as we all know. have you watched tv lately. why is every fuckin commercial a hip hop song. BLOW ME!

  • Billy Rath played bass on LAMF (where this track is originally from) not Richard Hell, who is in this pic.

  • Just like Johnny Thunders. Hoo hooo.

  • yeah!

  • For the record, Jerry wrote "Can't Keep My Eyes On You". I was there.

  • My world look is thin! It sez don't come in!!

  • In cold blood is fantastic

  • This is by far my fav. Thunders song. Well, this and Too Much Junkie Business.

  • isn't this song Pills? Lurie wrote the lyrics i know. but i never read the lyrics before. what an enhancement to understanding this song. thanks for the post. now i really get it.

  • no this song is one track mind...too much junkie business has the same music as pill with chuck berrys name and walter lures lyrics

  • read above, it's love comes in spurts.

  • This one was written by Walter Lure who also sings it, just like he wrote and sung some great other songs like All by Myself and Too much Junkiebusiness. Walter Lure was just as important for the Heartbreakers as Johnny Thunders.

  • Cool, didn't know that. =)

  • @Adrac91 Walter was-is awesome. Had a real songwriting sensibility.

  • yeah walter doesn't get enough credit for the songs that he wrote i don;t like when people say johnny wrote them..walter lure is the shit!

  • do you expect johnny played clean, he was a LAMF

    best wishes from peru

  • Walter was important, but Heartbreakers would never have gotten the attention they got-and deserved- without Johnny and his guitar, his look, the songs. I was there- I saw them at Max's in '76.

  • email me all about everything you did and saw.

  • @8754richard This sounds like Love comes in Spurts. Walter may have wrote it but it sounds like he ripped most of it off from Richard Hell.

  • @Flipper79able Richard Hell wrote Love comes in Spurts when he was in the Heartbreakers with Walter Lure. There is even a Heartbreakersdemo of that song. After Richard Hell left Walter Lure rewrote the lyrics.

  • @8754richard Wrong Richard wrote that song with Verlaine when they were in the Neon Boys in 1973. Like I said Walter kinda stole the song.

  • @8754richardYou could be right, I didn't know that he wrote that song in 1973. But the lyrics on One Track Mind are from Walter Lure for sure. I always thought that the 1975 demo of Love comes in Spurts was the first version of that song. But I assume you are correct then.

  • @8754richard No questioning Walter's importance but it was Johnny's band and lead playing and he did most of the writing. saw them many times in '76 and '77.

  • @8754richard

I thought this song was ripped off of love comes in spurts written by richard, because richard stole johnny's girlfriend so johnny stole love comes in spurts and threw cooler riffs and different lyrics?

I think they said that in born to lose: the last rock n roll documentary

  • @8754richard If you listen to ANY live Thunders, Walter Lure covers for him when he can't do it. It's just sad.

  • @8754richard

    Nice! Absolutly true! :)

  • @8754richard Yup, but Walter Lure and The Heartbreakers just doesn't have the same ring to it ;)

  • @CaptainRockNRoll I don't know what you mean, Thunders is on this track to,like he is on every Heartbreakersttrack. only the leadvocals here are by Walter, but Johnny is on leadguitar.

  • @8754richard Even more important IMO... Cause' he survived and wrote somewhat better songs, and most of all, I got to see them. I didn't get to see Thunders, 2 years too late...

  • @8754richard M O R E I M P O R T A N T ...

  • @8754richard

That´s fuckin´ true man! I love Walter and his singing also! ;)

Thunders & Heartbreakers forever in my <3 heart!

  • i got tracks on my arms and tracks on my face!!!!.....love you jt.t you are the true rock n roll king!!!!!!

  • LAMF!
