Well consider this there were lot of guitar players but no one like Yngwie with his unique sound , technique, sweep picking so I think that was done in purpose to cover the techniques he develop for the guitar that until then no one have ever done. So clean, with a killing vibrato and feeling.

The cheesy fade effects were done by some Japanese television unit - I remember the credits at the end it wasn't done in the states. This was from an 85 release thru Polydor VHS on videocassette originally.

They did 3 shows after the Rising Force album came out: Country Club in Reseda, then Fender's Ballroom, and then the Pomona PVA Auditorium. After the PVA they went to Japan to film this their 4th show as Rising Force.

Such a joy to listen to young Yngwie play live. I like many others feel he peaked with the album Trilogy. While he continues to put out albums to this day, I still feel his best work was from his first three albums, although Alchemy and War To End All Wars have some amazing playing as well.

I have this video on VHS tape. It's so sick. I think this version of far Beyond.... is one of the closest live versions to the album version. As you all know he deviates quite a bit from the album recording when he does this song live and that isn't really a good thing IMO. I love how he plays it here, very close to the album. This was Yngwie when he had something to prove. He was undeniably one of the very best back then in '85. Straight Phenom!!

This is indeed the best version of this song. This whole concert Yngwie was at his best, so fresh and creative. And what I like most is that his tone was so clean, without tons of reverb and delay to obscure his playing. The video effects are most irritating but this very same video without these effect exists. I know because I've seen it.
