  • When the chicks are still in the egg they squirt in food coloring so when they hatch they look pretty lol.The chicks soon loose the coloring when they grow new feathers. Doesn't harm that at all not a bit! The problem I have with the video is the poor chicks are crammed in a cage with like 30 other ones. :/

  • Ok people now the chicks are colored until they grow their new feathers. When the chicks are still in the eggs they squirt in food coloring in the egg with a needle. It does not harm them a bit.But I don't like how the chicks are crammed in a little cage. :'(

  • @jelloleggedjedi So, they are pretty much treated the same as a regular chick would be? I mean most chickens are sold out of bins like this, colored or not. It doesn't seem very nice to have them all piled together, but the color is irrelevant to that. at least they aren't going to waste if they're eaten. and hopefully that means that the dye must be non-toxic since if they are eaten nobody wants a poison chicken.

  • Colorful chicks :o. Kind of like Farmville if you ask me.

Though, the process of making this chicks are very simple.

You put the egg in with dye, over time after they hatch, they would lose the color.

For those people who thinks they were thrown in a toxic chemical dye, they are wrong.

If they were thrown in it, how are these alive? Simply you should know they should have died in the process and not alive.

  • stupid fucking idiot prick, how would you like it if you were confined to a small ass cage with 30 other people ??? stupid fucker if i see you in real life i'll break your head and then take those cute precious animals lol lol lol

  • How to dye them pls???

  • beautiful colour

  • the sell... but then the color washes out... and theyre uninteresting for the people that bought them. especially when they grow up and arent so cute any more... then are abandonned

  • I've always wanted neon chicks.

  • what the hell did they do to them xD

  • Dying these chicks is not harmful, but packing them into cages that densely is, and selling them as essentially disposable pets means most of them do not have happy or long lives. so it's the way they are sold, not that fact they have been dyed that is bad here.

  • this is just wrong

  • do i need a Permit to sell colored chicks

  • i had 20 of these!!!

  • @judopathoftruth lol what did u do with 20!

  • as u can see this poor chicks are just slammed in cages and when they grow older and have no more color on them there just tossed aside BOOO!

  • i want apink one!! i want toi show it to my class and said MY CHICK IS PINK WOOOO!

  • meat market?

as in these chicks are being sold as food :(

  • hmm no

they were colored to make people think there cute and buy them

in philippines there sold outside the church

when the chicks are all grown the color would fade but still be seen as highlights

  • but why is it called a meat market?

  • now that i don't know

but i guess it was being sold outside the meat market of course they wont eat it

u cant eat those little chicks there 2 cute

    :)

  • i hope so

  • ME WANT A GREEN CHICK:D

  • actually they are healthy and will live normally

  • I WANT A GREEN ONE LOL

  • This is horrible, but the process of dying them does not hurt them at all. They inject the dying agent into the embryo inside the egg. I don't really know how it works, but you get some colored chickens. It wouldn't be wrong if they weren't crowded and abandoned. Because, who really wants an adult chicken? If you don't want the big thing, don't buy the lovable little thing.

  • this is horrible!!! this do this to glass fish (fresh water fish)

  • awful

  • They are over crowded. Just take a minute out of your day and put your feet in there shoes..i mean talons. There trapped in a small cage, imagine the torture they went through to get dyed. Then being sold in a meat market, where kids just buy them and then leave them when they grow. It's just sad.

  • actually little chicks like to huddle together, they are fine in cramped spaces. just when they grow they're going to need more room to dust and feed, and fly and run around

  • chickens dont fly

  • they can do a glid-ish thing. its almost like flying. but they can. i've lived and live with chickens, and they would always jump and fly over the fence.

  • My chickens fly. They go about 16 feet straight up in the air to the top of my building or take off about 100 yards across the yard without touching the ground. If that is not flying then you do it.

  • Stop world hunger and give kids chicks for easter. Blue, green, red orange, yellow and white will help the kids want one then eat the eggs they lay! Yay no more hunger!!!

  • ^__^ I want one!

  • We rescued some chicks that were multicolored, They were growing and their colors were fading. Looked like someone just dumped them in a box because they were a bit bigger. My uncle raises them now. It's cute.

  • thats awful

  • meat market? D:

  • They only dye the chicks so people will be more inclined to buy them. They look so cute with their little colours. However, once people get them and have them for awhile they start to grow, and the colours fade. Most of the time people get them as gifts...not to raise into adulthood, or put on farms. Often times the chicks are dumped and left to die after people see they actually have to take care of these living breathing animals. The dye is not harmful if it is natural.

  • Hm....food dye so I'm sure that comes off. Nothing toxic about food dye so whats with the complaining.

  • id buy 1

  • Two out of 5 die in the process, I've seen this before..nasty..

  • THAts AWESOME!! but i hope it isnt too bad for them :P

  • Yeah, it aint too bad for them, they almost got drowned in deadly paint XD

  • How is it mean? It's food dye. It comes out when they grow up. They're at about the same intelligence level as... I don't know, a fly? They don't even notice. It's not mean.

  • how do you know they have an intelligence of a fly, maybe you do. they have feelings too you know. and who cares, they kill chicks this way too!

  • Having intelligence has no correlation with emotions. I say that they have very little intelligence because they are BABIES, and BIRDS. I did not say that they don't have emotions. However, they cannot know the difference between a bath in normal water and a bath in food dye, so they wouldn't care. You really aught to think about things before throwing insults around. It makes you look like an immature 12 year old, and completely discredits your arguments.

  • first of all it is mean because it could effect how other animals react to it and it could endanger its health and second it has been proven that chickens AND CHICKS have the same intelligence level of a three year old.

  • cool im indain

  • i wan one of tat.

  • m'n'ms

  • living, breathing, peeps!!!!

  • what the hell

  • DYEING HAIR IS WRONG!

    :-P

  • OMG SAD! these cute little chicks r gonna be... EATEN!?

  • mmm sounds good!

  • I grew up on a farm and every year we would get more chick our hens tended not to be broody and when we'ed buy them around Easter they would be like this somtimes. They just dip them in food coloring and when they lose their down it all comes off. I never saw how it hurts them but the problem is that poeple with out a place to keep poulty would get them to put in Easter baskets witch is super cute but when they would grow up a lot of people would discard them

  • high at the chicken farm...

  • being coloured is way better then being u no battery caged for the rest of ther lifes

  • I know how this is done

to do this you color the egg with vegtleble dye

the chicks will hatch all colurful :)

i use to do it with my granpa at at his farm

the chicks are not harm there not blind picture it like white humans and black humans

the only difference is color and if you say

how would you like it if this happens to you dont

cause vegetable dye inst permanent ( last 3 months )

this is a scam tho and they should not be in the cages like that

  • @migueldELLO It is not vegetable dye. It is a special dye scientists used for many years for tagging purposes. And when you color the egg SHELL, that has no effect on the chick itself. The shell is only a protective covering.

  • @migueldELLO what about the hats

  • @migueldELLO yea that is not how they do it. in most cases they inject the egg wth a dye that produces these colors.

  • @migueldELLO That may be how you did them but these chicks were thrown in a bucket of dye with all their friends and swished around. It's toxic paint so I wouldn't begin to say this is humane at all.

  • BTW people this is not animal cruelty or illegal in any way

cause the vegetable dye is non toxic or doesn't harm or blind the animal

they dye the egg then the chick hatch all colorful so impossible to harm or damage any internal organs and the chicks can breath fine

the vegetable dye is all natural so it wont interfere how long the chick where suppose to live in any way

  • wtf

who ever did this should fall in a fucking ditch.

  • whoever thinks this is cute is sick.

  • thats just sad and stupid

  • i agree if you need to have a chicken dyed to enjoy it then your fucked up in the head and this material world has took its hold on you..

  • omg soo evil! What person would do such a thing???

  • arnt you a human dumb ass

  • yeah really, how would you like to be in a little cage like that getting pooped on every couple of minutes by your brothers and sisters everyday?! so these people have no other alternative in making money? so they have to make animals suffer? ..how inconsiderate and inscensitive!

  • i guess you forgot that humans are animals lol.

  • I hope you dont eat caged eggs then, and only eat free range chickens. Otherwise your doing the same thing.

  • What's really sad is that they are all stuck in that cage like that...animals get such a raw deal on this earth. Humans are jerks.

  • ur an animal too

  • ok, im not saying this is a good or bad thing, but the people who own these chicks just inject dye in the eggs and they hatch and they're that color! it's completely harmless and lots of people use it, i dont use it on my pets but i think it looks pretty cool... sooo, yea, lol

  • Every thing to do with animal is cruel???How about killing people, western wankers care about fucking animals than human lives..US and UK Armies are killing many many people Every day, they say fuck all about that...How fuck is that?!

  • Fuck off

  • humans are a worthless shitty existance, its good that they're dying theres 6 billion of them and they take up way too much space, its pathetic

  • yes i think like you to. its pretty good that poeple die :) i mean it

  • thats horriable i hate that people should think someone should die just they colored there pet it dosent hurt them so SHUT UP!

  • dude dont take it serious i LIKE CHICKENS!!! and what i said was a comment for pizzathepiz so im not talking about chickens

  • they spray painted them

  • no they died them, spray painting is out of the question

  • wow

  • whoa... dat gave me a seizure... o_O

  • omg so mean and crewl they die so easly !!!!!!!!!!!

  • its not cruel.. the dye is injected in the egg early and theyre born like this and it grows out eventually so its harmless.

  • yeah it is cruel they get skin desease and would die quicker

  • Oh they do not,the only way its cruel is that kids want them then a week later they forget them and they starve to death.humans dye their own hair, they dye dogs.they dye they use on the chicks is the same dye used in cake frosting.

  • Im totaly against this but id SOOOO want a hot pink one. -takes it to a rave-

  • poop

  • dats messed up people need to leave the poor animals alone!!!! first the dogs now this!!!! u can get locked up for this

  • KFC does kick ass!And for your info they don't dye the chicks. You choose what color you want them to be.get food coloring, put in their water.Within a week that's what color it'll be

  • HEY ITS ILLEGAL TO DYE CHICKS! i saw it on TV it could kill them.

  • I would just like to say that these people live off about 2 dollars a day. That doesn't justify what they are doing but it doesn't give you the right to say things about them when you are stuffing your mouth with a bucketful of chicken wings from KFC.

  • KFC kick ass

  • you dont even know who did this. was it the indians. was it the japanese. was it the chinese. you dont know. so dont say things that you dont know. oh, and wait. you left out the whites and the blacks huh.anybody who wants to do that can do it because its not illegal for people who has a licence. next time ,think before you type stuff out on to the computer.

  • lol what would you make you think that i don't think before typing something ?? cutiepie

  • hypocrites are the worst

  • fuck off

  • I feel so sorry for the chicks

  • :( i pity those chicks.

  • ...get a bigger cage for the dude

  • OMG this is soo cool!! Mii friend said that theres purple ducks but i didnt belive him.. Now i do!!

  • i wanna green one!

  • THIS IS ILLEGAL!

  • no it's not. it's illegal to sale them, not the actual process.

  • its still stupid...it ruins the chicks health

  • well i never heard of any ill effects cuz it just dyes their fluff. but i still think it's wrong. but there are far worse things being done to chickens than this.

  • you are right...but, why do they have so little space to move around...wwhich bastard did this?

  • yeah dude i raise chickens and this is just cruel. but people do this all the time and get away with it.

  • Me too...i raise silkies.

  • dude i use to have silikies. i had some whites, blacks, and blues. i had one that was splash with blue and white, he was sweet. now i just have japanese chickens and a few laying breeds. well and guineas too, but they're not chickens, they're just sweet. haha.

  • Thats tight! I am waitng on the arrival of my silkie day old chicks, i cant wait until they arrive at my house.

  • what kind you gettin?

  • 9 silkies.

    Buff

    Partridge

    and

    white

they will also add a few more males for protection and warmth.

  • Awaken !

  • ugh

  • i want a pink one.

  • Boor little animals! How many will die in these small cages. What happens to them?!? What about those which won´t be selled?

I am sorry for these poor craetures.

  • Actually the dyeing process is harmless. It's injected into the egg before the chick hatches. But you are right that most dyed chicks do not survive. They die because they are bought as gifts for people who don't know how to care for them, or who lose interest once the dyed down grows out in a couple weeks. Also they are often gifts for children who aren't taught that they have to be gentle, and the delicate chicks die from being overloved. I do not condone the action of dyeing chicks.

  • most of these chicks die pretty soon after recieving these as pets . . especially

in these kinds of countries they dont know

the chicks must be kept under some sort of

heat source to keep warm they end up dying

like that or getting crushed by dumb little kids

  • This is horrible :-(

  • Ugh, Just out of curiosity how many people think its "cute" to own a purple chick for like a week before it dies from dye poisening?

  • unfortunately most end up dyiyng......me and a couple of friends are going to texas this year.....then to china and india....like 50 of us in all.....and were going to buy at least.....1000 colored chicks .....maybe more......were going to keep them in my uncles farm....away from normal colored chicks so they can have a normal....colored life with great food and enviorment....so they can live a somewhat happier life

  • They more you buy, the more they will supply. Its best not to support a market that you dissagree with.

  • Also, the colors fade. They don't have that down forever.

  • Yes, the colors fade but then novelty of keeping the chick as a pet wears off as well!

Then people will end up abandoning the chick or outright killing them!!

    THAT'S the cruel part!

  • omg how could u say soo cute those poor babeys they might die *cries*

  • this is not cute, it is quite obvious most of them will die because of how they have been kept.

  • Yeah call whatever you want but that's what happens, they are not so cute when they get older and cannot be kept, if your going to keep then at least them healthy and clean.

  • Omg!8o not cute, when their given out to little children during easter, and they naturally have Salmonella in their gut btw so there feet have possible bacteria of it from defecating, not a good idea especially with little kids and then they r harassed&beaten to death by other chickens because of the unatural color.

  • Salmonella is the least of the concerns. There is bacteria EVERYWHERE in the natural world. Kids should grow up on mud pies instead of antibiotics.

  • Awful! Cruel and abusive!

  • OMG

  • those poor chicks

  • sooo cute! XD

  • I know! XD
