Press ATT and everything will be heard much better... ANF is only when heavy QRM is heard. Commercial radio stations need -10db or -20db attenuation...
Ola! this DSP it's too much a good deal all-around even into the ic 718? how many options of filter with oneself with him? whats opinion? Thanks PP5EDO Cal
Sure! KJ4AQV. The DSP ( UT-106 ) does work on the ears, capable of keeping the noise level at bay and thus making the intended speech signal more intelligible. 73 and good luck with your operation!
With UT-106 installed, your Icom IC-718 display it as "DSP". Press "NR", the DSP reduces some types of noises which you can hear and see if in a graphic waveform. Press "NR" for up to two seconds, you're brought to the setup menu of this DSP where you can change the DSP setting between "0" up to "9". Press "ANF", the DSP reduces whistles and howls at certain acoustic frequency range. Make sure you do set your DSP higher than "0". Actually the default setting should be at "4". Good luck!

Almost working on all types of noises, from my listening experiences, though the idea behind the audio DSP is only to cut down on the noise level.

Just swap a UT-106 for a Pwr supply. Will the ICOM 718 receive with clarity?

Thank you very much i now know how to use the dsp and for a year it has been useless thank you very much.

This happens, but not often with your hamster. By the way, the DSP provides settings from "0" up to "15", but it really works from "0" up to "9" ;-)

Yes. Current commercial DSP is nomial at best, removing or reducing only some types of audio effects at certain accustic ranges.

It may just be an AF DSP, but it sure does help. My rig came with it already installed.
